My 4090 FE rarely goes over 350w. You need to be doing 4k ray tracing without a CPU bottleneck to even get it over 400w.

All the games I want to play running on my 'eck just fine, the VR games I wanna play that actually utilize my card's full power are running just fine on my 4090. Any game that actually requires a 4090 to play it usually has other problems I don't care to deal with, like Denuvo, bad optimization, boring gameplay that priortized graphics over fun, etc.

The last few gens, I've just been buying the high end at launch and selling my old card. 4090 was lucky because it came out first and they haven't made a slightly better successor.
That's what I do except I went with a 4080 this gen because I found one for $900. I don't think it will retain much value when the 5090 comes out but you never know.

I have 2x 32 inch Gigabyte 4k144hz HDR IPS screens and 2x generic 27 inch AOC IPS monitors. Going to replace my 27 inches with 32 inches, making 4x 4k144hz screens. I need more power to push all those frames. 4090 is not cutting it. I want path tracing at 144hz, 70b parameter models run locally, VR on a stable 120 fps on max settings. 5090 might cut it, it might not.

I got 3080ti so I'm comfy waiting for 5090. Gaming isn't even they biggest selling point, between fricking around in UE5, chilling in VR and generating hand tailored fap material with Stable Diffusion it's a no brainer nowadays. Getting a GPU strictly for gaming was really awkward before that.

Fake frames are not important. If you have a bad GPU, you'd want fake frames, but it will perform worse because the interval between frames will make the algorithm be more unsure of what to put in between. If you want to lessen the interval between frames, you'd just get a better GPU, but at that point, why would you settle for fake frames?
