It is not hard. It takes some learning, but if you have elementary understanding of how things like Max or Photoshop work, you won't have much issues. Then you have to learn just a little bit about code and that is pretty much it. You can cheat a lot during every step of the process too.
From a certain point, it takes lot of consistency doing fairly tedious work though. That is where I think most fail.
