Minthara is easily better than any of those characters individually but losing access to 3 or 4 companions and the tieflings cucks you out of a lot of sidequests and dialogue.
Halsin is a cool guy imo. Not the most interesting member of the team, but I'd still put him above others like Wyll, Minsc and Jaheria.
Might change my tune on him since I'm planning on going for the 3-way route with him and Shadowheart in my current playthrough. Hopefully there's something there that'll flesh him out a bit more.
