They're not his "pet projects", they are just like any other game he developed like RS, DP, XY. Also, what do you mean BW2? He was making XY when that was being worked on. People really just talk about these games for years and just make up things.

Yes, he obviously wasn't the reason the series used to be good, but he isnt the reason it is bad either. The reason is a larger, complex one and we'd love to point the blame on one specific person or event, but the reality is the franchise simply grew out of gamefreak into some blob I don't really care for anymore, watching the presents and there's just nothing here recognizable of the pokemon I fell in love with, the culture has shifted and despite the games being literally unfinished since the jump to 3D, fact of the matter is they're selling far far better than they were at their peak quality, whatever business model they have is clearly working and it's at the cost of longtime pokemon fans.

I think the DLC looks fine.
The addition of mini-games and stuff to make EV training even easier is good.
Seems to me that the Area Zero DLC will either make it or break it. By that I mean that if they just add a zone to catch legendaries like in SwSh, instead of a new dungeon, it will leave a negative taste in people’s mouths.
