343 broke Halo Reach on their "way out" so that in-game customization no longer works. I avoided this by disconnecting my 360 from the internet before 343 nuked the seevers.
But now Xbox 360 is wrapping up, and I want to buy shit from the store, but how tf do I do that without ruining my copy of Halo Reach?

make a backup copy inside a usb
+ you can then use horizon to copy it your pc

It's been years since I used a 360 but I'm pretty sure in the last section of the dashboard you'll be able to find an option that lets you view the account's purchase history, I used this to redownload Poker Night 2 and a few other delisted digital only titles until my fricking 360 fell on my head

Reach customization only temporarily resets to default when connected to xbox live. When you disconnect from the server, your customized armor comes back.

reach has like 10 players total on social playlists, everyone else is just playing custom games which heavily involves H3 and reach

No clue how they did it. But theyveven had to do a PSA on it.
Basically, you'll still be able to see your custom spartan in the customization menu (sometimes) butvwill no longer be visible in-game, in cutscenes, campaign or custom games or local multiplayer

I am the anon who the anon you replied to replied to. I have long suspected this for many years. This has all been deliberate effort on their part because they have wanted to shift Halo past the Bungie era for a long time. They even were hoping Chief could be replaced by their black male character from H5 until the fanbase gave serious backlash to that. This franchise is finished. Halo is dead and its never coming back. Its even possible that MS has had some petty vendetta against it since Bungie didn't want to remain slaves to MS corporate forever and MS are soulless homosexuals with a woke agenda. So Halo really never had a chance. It would have gone to shit anyways even if Bungie stayed. I could see a scenario where MS started to force Bungie to milk the games annually or bi-yearly so that it could be competitive with CoD. MS would have made another company to assist in this obviously similar to what Activision did with CoD. Multiple studios to assure yearly CoD.
