I'm usually not bothered by pixel graphics but this game takes it to a new level, the way the units jitter around in place actively disgusts me. It looks like a good game but I just can't get past the garbage aesthetics
It really does look like pixelvomit. Especially hard to deal with seeing as the games it's trying so hard to ape frequently looked amazing.
which game is that?
Ummm I think he meant Heroes 2 and 3
If the game is selling well then the dev really needs to hire a couple of competent artists and redo everything.
Lmao, this shit can't sell well, or there's something really wrong with the new generation
>there's something really wrong with the new generation
Or maybe something's really wrong with you, grandpa.
Zoomers deserve the rope
I wonder what age are the devs of this shitbucket. They can't be older than 14.
Stay mad grandpa!
oh god this is the game where every sprite has a different pixel size isn't it
Why people insist so hard on promoting this game. Not even shilling, since they are doing it for free. It has the exact same broken mechanics it had in alpha build, despite what? A year of "patches"? It has same garbage gameplay loop. It still plays like shit, too.
So what's the fricking appeal? What compels morons to keep bringing it up.
>inb4 whatabout whatever
I'm asking about your game, OP, not why there are mentally ill paradrones shitting up the board.
Have you played HoMM3
I'm STILL playing HoMM3.
And this game has only surface level similarities with HoMM.
it's homm3 for morons without attention span, anon. please understand.
/vst/ is prime audience
This game is homm3 without all the soul. It's always like that with proceduraly generated games.
Actually it is not homm3 it tries to be different in several aspects like, real time battles instead of turn based, individual units instead of unit stacks, skill trees instead of earning skills based on % chances, creatures can move even without heroes and so on. It actually took a lot of ideas from Heroes4 as well.
... and none of it works nor is good
Here is your (You) with some headpats Anon.
Have a good one!
No HoMM has any soul other than 2
Masterful taste
homm3 is also proceduraly generated wtf are you talking about
>proceduraly generated games
What is this even supposed to mean?
>It has the exact same broken mechanics it had in alpha build,
>citation needed
>AI is non existent
It can still wreck most of the steam crowd even at easy
Jokes on you, most the steam crowd just buys it on a sale and never plays it at all.
I swear this is most people. Just buying a ton of cheap games and then going back to playing league of legends or some other shit. My friend talked about how he will play his huge backlog when he retires, but we both know that's a lie.
I know if I don't play games now then I sure as shit won't play them when I'm old and shitty.
consooomers are not people
>It has the exact same broken mechanics it had in alpha build,
>AI is non existent
Okay that is one, I guess... One is more than zero... Even tough we could probably argue if enemy AI could be considered a game mechanic.
are undead any good yet?
They were always good just not like Heroes3 level busted OP.
blatantly false, please at least try to keep your falsehoods at least vaguely plausible
Alright, prove me wrong? Why were undead not good?
Just the way their units were set up and the mechanics behind them they were weaker than all the other races cuz you can't get half your army back when you lose a fight. They're good for snowballing against ai with save scumming, not for a real game
Is that why in the last tournament out of 6 games with Decay 5 ended up with Decay winning, and why it was banned in the finals?
Cause not every game should be a duel map where you start next to each other and the game ends at the start of week 2.
Even on larger maps Decay is still completely broken, especially whit Rotheart or LoN as your primary hero
Not mentioning Fearcap starting with Demoralize which practically gives her fear on every attack at level 2. And if you meet her at high level, well better get used to your entire army having permanent -6 morale and doing nothing useful but running round screaming for the entire battle.
Personally i didn't think they were that bad but they can now get loss, a level 3 lich unit, a building that makes skeletons get permenantly stronger the more of your units die and can trade souks for resources as well as the free units.
never found any op strats as undead
In the new expansion try out demoralize, the skill on rotheart. Lowers enemy morale so they just end up running in fear after like 2-3 ranks pretty much every unit will run from every attack.
Yeah ever since they introduced negative morale and its punishing effects morale became a serious thing. In fact I even find negative morale quite overpowered versus neutral stacks getting an early game Unsettle spell almost makes taking mines a trivial thing. I think it should at least scale down with the stronger the creature is.
Question does positive morale counteract the new "Terrified" creature trait? It would be cool if it would work.
It says it protects against terror but isn't clear about if that just means the negative morale kind or terror in general.
Rotheart used to be broken to bits
Bane+Bloodlust+Deathseekers get real silly real fast
Decay and undead got some nice buffs
>Bone Shooters now have slow targets trait
>Corruptors were given poison armor and spawn zombies upon death
>Rot Walkers now have "Fester" instead of "Venom" which weakens enemies max HP, damage and speed. While rot walkers still have one of the highest HP of all T2 units while still being cheap and have high growth.
>Vampires gained Flying (as they always should have btw) and Sanguinists now spawn Bats on death.
>Bone dragons got the Dragon Breath trait allowing the to deal way better with swarming enemies.
>Got a new Ranged creature the "Catabolite" at T4 which is very welcome since Decay only had the neutral "Bone Shooters" before "Liches" that were T6 creatures.
Necromancy now allows you to choose what Undead you wish to raise from a pool of creatures that improve with level instead of giving you a single yes/no choice.
Decay towns got a new T2 building called "Blood Cell" building (as many other factions got their own versions too). Which passively gives the owner a stacking buff to their skellies over the course of the game. Not sure if this includes only permanent units or also affects summons, if it affects summons then it is super strong since Decay can easily summon free temp skellies.
New T5 building, Liches can now be upgraded further into a new creature called "Loss" which are stronger and can spawn permanent units besides of temporary skeletons.
Basic market has been improved(?) to the Spirit Vendor as in
which allows them to use spend excess Soul power for resources which they already have plenty of so running out of mercury to raise troops will no longer be a bottleneck.
Instead of "Champion Statue" Decay towns got "Rogue Statue" which allows them to hire "Rogue Heroes" (previously called "Neutral heroes") and also give ever hero hired a free level of Logistics. Raising their base movement points from 17 to 22 a slightly less than 30% longer movement range.
>Hire Rogue hero called Birk with Exploitation skill
>Send skellies to mine extra gold while I clear the map
>PROFIT
>Pick them back up for the break
>They are way stronger now thanks to the Blood cell
>upgrade them to Bone Guard from the gold they made from mining
>MORE PROFIT
>Play Decay
>WTF? Where is the market? Did they remove the market?
>Find the new "Spirit Vendor"
Oh, I guess this is a thing now.
I also found out that some factions also no longer have the standard market. Earthen and Arcane allows you to trade Ore for other resources instead of gold.
>dat red hand in top-left corner
Is that a refference to E3M2 ?
Why do those ghosts look cute/chill
They don't have a reason to worry anymore
Which Delirium hero is best and why is it Seb the full?
Speaker > Combat > Midas Touch gives your personal hero more stats than any unit and oligarchy lets you have your avatars with only small armies but high effectiveness.
I tried that as a meme once. It sucked until I realized I shouldn't try to raise a hero with a large standing army, but launch avatar after avatar at my problems with whatever scraps of troops I had lying around, like cruise missiles. Then it became proper fun.
The AI loves to do this as well is there any way to counter this play?
What do you guys mean 'avatars'? You mean the bodyguard-using heroes (I haven't played in a while)? Bodyguards used to count as summons, perhaps still do, and that means they're weak to salt. Here's an old guide about them.
Nono, Avatars are a mechanic specific for the Delirium faction. Basically it allows you that instead of hiring a separate new hero you hire an avatar of your main hero. Avatars sort allows your main hero to be at multiple places at once. In combat the avatar has the same stats as your main hero and also shares the same mana pool. Imagine that if an avatar enters combat your main hero would teleport there and fight until the combat is over. This very powerful mechanic allows Delirium to focus all their power at one single hero because that one hero can be at multiple battles at once. Because of this simplification of needing only one single powerful hero Delirium AI players are rather strong and can take notoriously longer to defeat
What the other Anon meant by
>launch avatar after avatar at my problems with whatever scraps of troops I had lying around, like cruise missiles
Is that he continues to hire avatars of his super powerful main hero and sending them against the enemy to wear the enemy army down. Since avatars can be cheaply hired at the tavern and only gold limits how many you can hire.
Tutorial guy here, I need to make new ones cause they may be getting outdated by the new expansion.
Still full of bugs, borderline unplayable.
>Tons of new skills added
cool
>Mastery removed from tons of heroes
Not cool. Especially some of the mercenary/neutral heroes who's whole gimmick was access to mastery of an obscure neutral unit.
I really liked being able to focus on a different unit with each hero.
>ecially some of the mercenary/neutral heroes who's whole gimmick was access to mastery of an obscure neutral unit.
>I really liked being able to focus on a different unit with each hero.
But instead you get to directly play the Rouge factions if you want with all of the units and their own heroes with them. I think that is even cooler.
But hiring those heroes is no longer granting you access in other factions and they no longer have synergy
There are now other skills that work with specialty units, like Hegemony or Swordsmith
Good thing I have a laptop with the old version installed. They can never make me update muah-ha-ha-ha. Based GoG
Skills might change soon, depending on the outcome of drama going on in the discord
The majority of said "drama" is about Devour being overpowered beyond belief (despite being heavily nerfed already) and skills like Creativity being lulrandumb so much it can either be completely useless or win the game.
Oh and that Decay still being the strongest faction but that is nothing new.
No, I'm taking about the drama with the set of skill trees that was given to the dev right before release.
It was supposed to be a compilation of trees a bunch of tourney players were making since last summer, instead it had trees made by some mad lad alone and didn't take any other opinions into account. I don't know much more other than the rest of them being mad.
Incredibly based move tbh.
>instead it had trees made by some mad lad alone and didn't take any other opinions into account
um based?
never heard of this. If it is true then that is super based and no wonder Decay is OP. The guy is probably a decay player.
I'm not sure if Lyo is a Decay player (can't be assed to check), but he sure did a number on the Decay specialty units, what with none of them being from the faction buildings
Pirated this game on a whim and its actually pretty good. The graphics are meh but I can still distinguish everything so they're perfectly serviceable, and the gameplay is good. I appreciate that it tries to innovate on the HoMM formula without overly simplifying it. Tons of hero skills, impactful unique buildings and faction mechanics, carrying as many unit types as you want, hospital/infirmary casualty replenishment, all nicely executed.
Dishonest post for a dishonest game
Here is your (You) Anon, have a good one!
>openly being a weeb
i think it's an enjoyable triviality, it doesn't complicate things that don't need to be complicated
Apparently the game comes with a mod that gives the heroes personal sprites but only in combat. WTF? Why not also on the world map? Why not make it a part of the base game?
It makes no fricking sense.
sweet
its up on igg-games
Frick I love fireflies. Seeing a cloud of them descend on the enemy and watching the front turn into a sea of explosions is pure sex. Then add destruction for even more damage, and healing plus hospital to lose almost none of them. In fact at around 4 healing you should be gaining them every battle, just need someone to pick up the other half from town. Finally add swarming and recalcitrance to multiply their number even more. Your real army won't have to lift a finger.
Peul is specialized in fireflies I think.
The dev should unlock Volcano soonish so you'll probably have a few orgasms
>backloged it so hard that now its in Humble Monthly
nice
I wish this game was avaible on phone
Yeah, this and like a dozen other games would be nice for mobile, but devs tend to avoid the platform like a plague. Once I run out of decent phone games, I'll get the Deck, maybe.
You know i'm feeling bad turning on my 1000W rig to play some indie shit.
It was easier to get my gf to play homm3 with me than this jittery mess. This game lacks dignity and thus long term appeal.
Looks like shit. Why do you shill it?
Cause I like this game! Anons seem to think that liking this means hating Heroes2-3. Which is nonsense, those 2 games are are legends and liking one doesn't mean hating all the rest. I do not know where this idea comes from.
Your taste is shit then. Or more likely you're a shill paid by the devs.
No actual person can like both this ADHD ridden piece of garbage and thoughtful slow games like HoMM. Must be devish trickery.
Most of games in this board look like shit.
You play for the game.
Too bad the game itself is shit too.
If you actually like it you have to rethink your life. Oh wait, you can't, you're braindead
I wish there was a mod to make the units look cooler
I usually don't care that much about those things but I really don't dig this style
Sprite sizes are limited to 24x24, so there's only so much that can be done without code changes.
Also, the dev hired a couple of better artists to improve the appearance of the units. At least one of the possible designs is look larger than 24x24 so the limits might increase soonish.
Also also, the game comes with a mod that improves the appearance of the heroes. So there's at least that.
I actually really liked it when I played it last year
It had a successful mission of getting me to reinstall HoMM3
nice
so, hypothetically... if I had to choose between Songs of Conquest and Rogue Realms, what would be my choice?
SoC is a more competently made game.
HH is fun kind of chaos, especially with RR that overloads the game with random ass stuff.
So pick whichever you prefer.
What are these replies? You homosexuals are supposed to say one of two things:
>both are shit and you have shit taste
>one is amazing and the other is utter shit
Get it together, anons.
frick off moron
both are decent they have their own gimmicks.
new update when?
Soon. There's a 2.4.2 beta already up on Steam
This game is fun, dunno where these flaming Ganker contrarians came from
Wish the AI was improved but otherwise battles are fun to look at
