>back when various religious faiths and beliefs meant 99% white french men and maybe a single 3-4th gen "muslim" man or grandson of a sikh >now it means a bunch of lesbians who worship pagan deities and satan for the sake of "owning the white man" and 75% jeets
Further, the new crop doesn't actually have various religious faiths and beliefs. They've got different aesthetic ideas they subscribe to but 100% of them worship the new state religion.
'tard. Syndicate was the first game in the franchise that changed the iconic opening disclaimer for the one about gender identities. AC1 came out in 2007, a time where Jack Thompson was trying to convince the world Grand Theft Auto turned kids into school shooters, and in came this brand new game where you played the role of a Muslim assassinating people in positions of power, most of them Christians. The game dealt with racism, slavery, homophobia, as well as touching on religion, Christianity and Judaism, the people that follow them and those that use their words to rule over others. Then in came AC2, a game that ended with you fist fighting the Pope of the Catholic Church. The words had a clear purpose, that is to cover their asses in case they were accused of making some sort of religious statement. The new one had a clearly different intention.
I still dont understand the setup and punch of the joke
I know wassa matta sounds like whats the matter, but is it really as simple as desmond being moronic and saying the first thing that comes to his mind? like if I looked at a picture of oda nobunaga and said "OHHHH BELLY GUUUD!" while squinting?
I don't even think the "joke" is the point of the scene. The point was to show they're all getting testy from being stuck together in their tiny hideout.
Yeah, that's exactly the joke. He's just goofing around. It's why Lucy says >Really? This is what you're doing?
to the Desmond and Rebecca right after that.
>be assassin boy, descended from a long line of elite warriors defending the world against tyrrany and aliens >raised in weird compound away from normal life >get a chance to bail as a young adult >realize you love being a basic bro >go clubbing and do normalgay shit all the time >loving life >get kidnapped by the evil tyrant organization and forced to relive your angsty medieval ancestor's life a bunch >escape, but get stuck on the run with a bunch of people from your old cult of weirdo world-defenders >just want to go back to clubbing and shit >relive Italian Rennaisance mobster life >just want to get outta here >eventually start to feel like maybe you should stop being a basic bro all the time and care about saving the world >run into alien chick >die
Desmond's entire story arc is just meandering and pointless.
>just want to go back to clubbing and shit
That's wrong thoughever. The big thing about Desmond is that he hated not being given the choice to join the Assassins, that he was born into it. He had to escape and live his own life for a while to know what he was missing, and to then make the conscious choice to join the Assassins not because he was forced to but because he thought it was the right thing to do. Those are the neat nuggets of solid writing you get every now and then when Darby is writing Desmond, a shame a lot of it had to be done retroactively.
>"hey that's racist"
>literally talking to his own ancestor
the female brain
>No, YOU’RE RACIST
Was it a good comeback?
>It's okay I'm 1/64th Italio-Iberian....on my mother's side
>it was literally written by a man
the Ganker brain
Men can't write accurate depictions?
That's sexist. Actually.
From the same developers who preface every game they make with this
>team of various religious faiths and beliefs
I miss them bros
>back when various religious faiths and beliefs meant 99% white french men and maybe a single 3-4th gen "muslim" man or grandson of a sikh

It used to be just religions and beliefs. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss those days.

The joke is that he's being moronic
Idk why I expected there to be more depth than that.
I don't even think the "joke" is the point of the scene. The point was to show they're all getting testy from being stuck together in their tiny hideout.
they should like frick it out or something
hatefrick that moronic dyke's autistic pussy out of sheer frustration
>dyke
She marries Shaun
Yeah, that's exactly the joke. He's just goofing around. It's why Lucy says
>Really? This is what you're doing?
to the Desmond and Rebecca right after that.
>Altair
I wish I had one.
Why?
>Not wanting the better Altair.
You were supposed to meet me at eight!
I just cant believe you commited suicide. I just cant believe it.
That’s racist.
Wtf was his problem?

>get a chance to bail as a young adult
>realize you love being a basic bro
>go clubbing and do normalgay shit all the time
>loving life
>get kidnapped by the evil tyrant organization and forced to relive your angsty medieval ancestor's life a bunch
>escape, but get stuck on the run with a bunch of people from your old cult of weirdo world-defenders
>just want to go back to clubbing and shit
>relive Italian Rennaisance mobster life
>just want to get outta here
>eventually start to feel like maybe you should stop being a basic bro all the time and care about saving the world
