So what exactly does it involve? I'm a loser with plenty of time who spends to much of it on this god-forsaken website and could at least do something good for the pirating community. Where do I go to learn about this?
With Denuvo DRM, the game code itself is encrypted. It pings Denuvo servers (or is always-online) to see your loicenses at different intervals (per level of Denuvo, eg light-med-heavy) to see if the game is legit. Offline the DRM checks stay good for a set amount of time before the game is rendered unplayable. There's actually an "underground" business for renting good offline DRM checks or some shit.. Then it decrypts the game in real time as you play it, ergo dumping random and unnecessary demand onto your PC. Which is why Denuvo shits on PC performance no matter what level of Denuvo is used. And the best part is that every single game, every single update, DLC, etc, is a different decryption key that you need to figure out. And judging by the schizo's ramblings earlier I bet they also made it so even the different loicense checks in the game itself are starting to get different encryption keys.
The tedious part is figuring out these keys. Then using them to "fix" the game and pry Denuvo out of the code. The reason why they need or have people playtest them is to make sure they didn't miss any of it because that's an instant CTD when it hits that part.
As for specifics and how to get into it, who knows.
I highly doubt you can just ask Empress because they are schizo as frick but hell you can try on Mastadon or whatever.

Draw calls remain the same, physics remains the same, base logic remains the same, the CPU load does not decrease as resolution increases.

No. It is the number of api calls. With azdo techniques, it is common to be able to reduce the amount of draw calls per frame to as little as 1, despite rendering thousands of objects. With modern apis like vulkan and dx12, that's the default way to do it.

Yes, they'll win benchmarks, good for them. But in the real world there are people using their 4080 with, let's say, a 5800X at 1440p. It seems a perfectly reasonable GPU and CPU combination, at a perfectly reasonable resolution.
It's not like before, where you had to match a 3080 with a 4-core CPU from 2014 and play at 1080p to even notice the issue. It's starting to affect real people with real hardware.

Kek I just had to wait till the 9th to be able to download it because it was library locked untill then. The game's good imo but you can literally feel when Denuvo activates and starts scanning your files. The game drops from a 50-ish to beyond powerpoint level of frames.
Good game overall, shame for the shitty performances. 7/10.
