They have the release schedule they've had since 2018.
They have port years with one big release (2018 for example was a port year with Smash as the big thing).
They have years with one half of the year dry (2019, this year), and the other half stacked.

they blew their load with the full XBC3 direct. should've cut that down to 10 minutes, added the new kirby game announcement, pad with the usual shovelware nobody cares about, and then end with the bayo3 trailer + release date. it still would've been a mediocre direct but would've built more hype than the alternative. if the prime remaster is real, then they could end on that instead and it would've been upgraded to a good direct

Nintendo simply understand that western journos only deserve death. Every single announcement made by Nintendo is able to make everyone talk on social media nowadays. They don't even need to give special privileges to the parasites anymore. That's a good thing and I hope more japanese developers do that in the future. Just remember this next time the journos ignore some news about Nintendo that would paint them in a better light than the companies that eagerly suck on their troony wieners.
