I dunno about all that, but you did make me realize something. What exactly WAS Roxas in Digital Twilight Town? And here's a better one: what the frick WAS Digital Twilight Town anyway? Where was it? Was it even digital? If it's digital, why did Ansem leave a literal entrance back to it? And as for Roxas: if that Roxas is supposed to be the original, didn't he get absorbed? How does he appear again in WTNW? The only thing I can recall is that the fight with Roxas seems to take place in Sora's head in like a fraction of a second, which is very odd, and I guess Roxas' newfound spirit woke up when he returned home and realized he still had some bitter feelings left and wanted to challenge Sora.

Roxas was digitized, Ansem and the others needed a way in to check on him/in case things frick up like it did with his old crew trying to get him back.
KH2 had the story be "dude gets absorbed and has no will and "being" of his own anymore until he resonates with Namine in Kairi's heart enough to bring back enough of his consciousness to chat with each other. With them going back into their owners' hearts being their last farewell. KH2FM added that World that Never Was scene that made it clear he was still there existing, but just chilling in Sora because he gained enough of an identity to continue existing.
Part of that scene was for Nomura to work with for later games like 358/2 Days.

Digital twilight town was a digital copy using data from the world's heart. It was all computerized but the data heart ended up being real enough to cause problems just like his Tron Space Paranoids mess. He made his Tron world by copy pasting the entire Tron world from ENCOM. The transporter in the basement was just a transporter because he needed a way for real shit to move into the data world and Roxas was a real not boy that Riku just chucked in there using the transporter to imprison him while Namine fricked with the memories. The weird part is that nobodies like Axel managed to access the data world directly using the lanes between. I dont understand how the lanes between work.

I liked 3D gameplay and even 3 gameplay but yeah the series is definitely dead to me now. Disney's filthy hands were all over 3 like never before and it showed.

The first collection is pretty extensive so its fine, but the package with 3D is a complete scam. Barely fricking anything in it and 3D is one of the worst games in the series anyways.

For most coliseum rounds you usually want to start with Thunder, it's really good wave clear.
For the Leon/Yuffie boss prioritize Yuffie and reflect her projectiles back at her, otherwise she will heal Leon. For Leon play cautiously and wait for openings, be careful with your attacks because he can suddenly break out of a combo.

Not unless you already thought it was. Mechanically it's a step back from KH2 with heavy attack magnetization and cookie-cutter magic, and the artstyle is mediocre. The story is poorly told (not bad in the was KH is charmingly bad, but just incoherent in structure and tone), and the characters are flat. It's a bad entry to the series, even by the standards of the series.
You know I agree with pretty much all of the 3 complaints everyone else has (story sucks, too little Disney/FF, doesn't really feel like a proper KH3 scope wise), but the biggest issue I have is that not only is the story paced bad and told worse, but it doesn't even focus on the original trio despite being KH3?

Kingdom Hearts can best be described as an anime with a quantum leap element where the anime characters port into movies and have to autistically explain why they're there while the characters are forced by fate itself to not stray too far from the lines of the film.
It's the poorest way possible you could have managed a multi-media franchise, because it doesn't allow for the mixed media to interact.
The better way of handling it would be to just combine a final fantasy styled setting with some classic Disney character like Mickey, Goofy and Donald and just have them "exist" in it like moogles or some shit.
Rather than worry about how these characters are in relation to any pre-exisitng incarnation, just have the characters take on the roles of their place in the world.
Obviously everything I'm describing already applies to Mickey and the gang Kingdom Hearts, but doesn't apply so much to the other "worlds" where it feels like anime aliens are walking into a movie set.
Final Fantasy and the Kingdom Hearts original stuff was always the best part of the franchise. I could've done without all the Disney stuff (and especially without all the Pixar trash). It should've been a 100% anime weeb story featuring original KH characters and FF characters, about light, darkness, good, evil, traveling between different weeb worlds, heavenly doors to the light, all that stuff.

I've read the writeups once or twice. Stellagay was a huge Xenogay and Xenogears was one of Square's first passion projects with the FF6/7/Mario money, and then we got Vagrant Story, TWEWY, in that line of off-beat games. I'd say he put completing Nomura games on hold because based on his reaction to the SaGa announcement the other day he's playing it because every Kawazu game is a passion project.
Playing KH2 for the first time. I kinda wish that the rest of the Disney characters were treated like how the game treats Mickey/Others and the FF chars. I dunno about all that, but you did make me realize something. What exactly WAS Roxas in Digital Twilight Town? And here's a better one: what the frick WAS Digital Twilight Town anyway? Where was it? Was it even digital? If it's digital, why did Ansem leave a literal entrance back to it? And as for Roxas: if that Roxas is supposed to be the original, didn't he get absorbed? How does he appear again in WTNW? The only thing I can recall is that the fight with Roxas seems to take place in Sora's head in like a fraction of a second, which is very odd, and I guess Roxas' newfound spirit woke up when he returned home and realized he still had some bitter feelings left and wanted to challenge Sora.

Roxas was digitized, Ansem and the others needed a way in to check on him/in case things frick up like it did with his old crew trying to get him back.
KH2 had the story be "dude gets absorbed and has no will and "being" of his own anymore until he resonates with Namine in Kairi's heart enough to bring back enough of his consciousness to chat with each other. With them going back into their owners' hearts being their last farewell. KH2FM added that World that Never Was scene that made it clear he was still there existing, but just chilling in Sora because he gained enough of an identity to continue existing.
Part of that scene was for Nomura to work with for later games like 358/2 Days.
Digital twilight town was a digital copy using data from the world's heart. It was all computerized but the data heart ended up being real enough to cause problems just like his Tron Space Paranoids mess. He made his Tron world by copy pasting the entire Tron world from ENCOM. The transporter in the basement was just a transporter because he needed a way for real shit to move into the data world and Roxas was a real not boy that Riku just chucked in there using the transporter to imprison him while Namine fricked with the memories. The weird part is that nobodies like Axel managed to access the data world directly using the lanes between. I dont understand how the lanes between work.

Diz Namime and Riku fixed that by the end of the tutorial. Mickey's only job in KH2 was to follow Sora in case he jobs to a boss and cast pearl a few times then cast healing light to get Sora going. But when Goofy jobbed healing light is off the table. Maybe he doesn't like Goofy as much.
Did any media ever make mention what boss he got knocked out by? I want to say Xaldin because of how I always got knocked out by him. Remember him being a problem for other anons as well. I should try and look at the old Brady Games guide and see what boss they had as the example for Mickey coming into play.

For most coliseum rounds you usually want to start with Thunder, it's really good wave clear.
For the Leon/Yuffie boss prioritize Yuffie and reflect her projectiles back at her, otherwise she will heal Leon. For Leon play cautiously and wait for openings, be careful with your attacks because he can suddenly break out of a combo.

Definitely not, it does good damage in an AOE, especially with upgrades. You get Thundara from beating Ursula.

Attacks can parry projectiles, guarding just makes it easier. I've also seen Goofy reflect projectiles with his shield (not something you can rely on though).
Gravity is your friend on most of the fights. For the boss fight you'll need to take out Yuffie first and kite Leon
If you've got to the end game the pool of enemies changes. You will need to gravity a lot if in the end game, if not, thunder is better since can clean the rooms faster. You should experiment a little bit with both to optimize the run.

If it was popular because of Disney, then my friend would have shown me the Disney part and not the part that was basically a finisher arc for an anime.
Kingdom Hearts can best be described as an anime with a quantum leap element where the anime characters port into movies and have to autistically explain why they're there while the characters are forced by fate itself to not stray too far from the lines of the film.
It's the poorest way possible you could have managed a multi-media franchise, because it doesn't allow for the mixed media to interact.
The better way of handling it would be to just combine a final fantasy styled setting with some classic Disney character like Mickey, Goofy and Donald and just have them "exist" in it like moogles or some shit.
Rather than worry about how these characters are in relation to any pre-exisitng incarnation, just have the characters take on the roles of their place in the world.
Obviously everything I'm describing already applies to Mickey and the gang Kingdom Hearts, but doesn't apply so much to the other "worlds" where it feels like anime aliens are walking into a movie set.
Final Fantasy and the Kingdom Hearts original stuff was always the best part of the franchise. I could've done without all the Disney stuff (and especially without all the Pixar trash). It should've been a 100% anime weeb story featuring original KH characters and FF characters, about light, darkness, good, evil, traveling between different weeb worlds, heavenly doors to the light, all that stuff.
I never watched Disney stuff as a kid, so I went back and watched a lot of there older stuff, and there old films are actually great. I dont know why people dislike the Disney stuff in KH so much. I think its fun. Plus, Disney is a core aspect of these games (even if Disney stuff isn't handled the best) I dunno, it just feels weird. At that point why dont you go and play a normal JRPG? Besides, the OG KH stuff isnt very good on its own tbh.
These are all true, even if most fans don't want to admit it. Disney is intensely out of touch now, and I'd bet most kids haven't played a final fantasy game. And like you said, the gameplay and combat could be good, but OSAKA team clearly cant make a consistent action combat game. H.A.N.D. though, they can make a good combat system for KH. I don't why they won't get that team to make the games instead.
Mickey could be in a revolutionary film, and I still dont think people would go to watch the movie. People have an autistic hatred over Disney right now, and the company is not helping it at all.

i'm playing through kh2 and just did this part like yesterday. i have no fricking idea what is going on and yes I have play kh1 and com. how anyone could understand whats going on in these games is beyond me, let alone as a child lol. but for disney nostalgia and gameplay they are fun. the story and voice acting is weird

The combat in KH2 is legitimately some of the best ever developed. Why bottom of the barrel morons have allowed the standard to be lowered with something like souls games or souls likes is beyond me. Take something basic like a sword wielderZ it takes about five years to follow through one swing
