It's simply a lackluster game which really shouldn't be $60. Also Ganker won't admit it but switch interest in general is dwindling down due to the delays of big games and aging tech

Nah Splatoon 3 and Pokemon S/V ensure the system has 3 years left minimum. The truth is strikers is just badly thought out.

I think switch in 2025 would be pushing it but up to 2024 sure. They already have next year covered with BOTW2 and potentially Prime 4. But otherwise it's kind of had all the big names already and they're not gonna do a Mario Kart 9 when 8 is still getting DLC

I'm done with GaaS garbage, I like what NLG does in general but I'm not buying the same unfinished shit just so they can give you the rest of the game a year down the line to drive "engagement"

I remember people were coping that this wouldn't be another switch-era Mario Sports game people would forget about in a couple weeks but here we are.

It fricking sucks because I love NLG but people should've seen this coming a mile away, I don't get why people vehemently deny the warning signs before launch every single time.

Different anon. It has more characters, it has more power ups, more modes, more cups, more individual stadiums, and more difficulty configurations.

          >More individual stadiums
That play the same and lack customization
          >More cups
It had only 4, this one has 6.
          >More characters
Only if you count the partners, and one of the capitains is just the Waluigi asset-reuse robots
          >More modes
The only alt mode was the same basic gameplay under a different menu. The new game mogs it hard with the Club-mode and having actual online multiplayer.
          >More power ups
They were the same items this game has but with slightly different silly variations, meanwhile BL has Gear which changes the game up much more than those items would.
You can say Charged mogs this game, but pretending the original has more going for it is nonsense.

The stadiums in both games are cosmetic only. Customization is pointless in that context. The GC game has 8 cups. OF COURSE YOU COUNT THE SIDEKICKS, you play using them. The new game has effectively three modes if you want to play it with that logic, which is abysmal. Gear doesn't change that there were more items in the original title. That's a deflection.

            >Only if you count the partners
            Why wouldn't you count them?

              Anonymous

Because they are super simple and bare. Charged gave partners juice, but in Strikers they're just filler and don't really add much to the game, if anything.

The stadiums in both games are cosmetic only. Customization is pointless in that context. The GC game has 8 cups. OF COURSE YOU COUNT THE SIDEKICKS, you play using them. "Customization is pointless" is silly. Like you said, the stadiums are cosmetic, so customization makes them more fun. Even musically the new game's stadiums are fuller since they get alt music when you upgrade them.
If you're seriously counting the hard-mode as "extra cups" than Battle League has 12 cups, since it also has hard mode equivalents.
And yes, the new game has only 3 modes compared to the original's 2 modes, glad you agree.
Gear is objectively more effortful than the original game's "lol bigger shell and lol bigger bomb" items, it's not a deflection, it's a fact that the game has more content than the original, and the fact that part of said content is online multiplayer increases it's value even further.

          >more characters
hardly, the characters are less detailed, especially the 4 sidekicks
          >more power ups
          lol
          >more modes
nope, it has quick play and cups, same as battle leagues
          >more individual stadiums
ignoring any customizations for battle league eh?
          >more difficulty configurations
alright, since we're reaching extremely hard for stuff to call content, I'll put stuff that the original strikers doesn't have.
          >character themes
          >stadium themes

Mario golf is great. Always have a blast playing a round with my friends or watching the absolute HORSESHIT the AI will pull off to get the ball near the hole. If you don’t care about the speed golf you can just ignore it and have fun plying normally. It’s what I did

Not really. You might find a couple lobbies open occasionally, and the ranked online will take 1-3 minutes to find anyone to queue up with.

it's not a good game or rather it's not a good full priced game. The gameplay is okish but if you don't like grinding online, which isn't all that great in general, there's nothing there for you. People shit on fifa but it's a way better package than this

As much as I loved them during the GCN and even Wii era, it just feels like Mario Sports games are a fricking waste of a project to put a talented studio on.

At the very least, once this game is done with updates NLG will either do a Punch-Out sequel or work with an IP they haven't worked with yet. I'll always have a ton of respect for just how consistent their output is when it comes to scheduling. We STILL have no clue what happened with Retro after DKC TF

They probably were working on something that ended up Metroid Prime'd by Nintendo. As in, the prototype sucked so Nintendo told them to start over, but then the Metroid Prime 4 situation came up.

Why is the stadium so god damn small? Seriously, go look up gameplay of the Strikers Charged and compare. Battle League gives you no space at all to play and set up passes/shots, and the opponent can nab the ball and be in his side within a second or two.
