what makes "real dinosaurs" better for your experience? Honestly, ironically your comment sounds more moronic, How would would it make any difference in gameplay?
It would be more tense, more aesthetically pleasing, probably more scary, and would foster a better story. The generic robots makes the world seem bland and empty, and lifeless.
>It would be more tense, more aesthetically pleasing, probably more scary, and would foster a better story. The generic robots makes the world seem bland and empty, and lifeless.
Nah it doesn't seem bland, empty and lifeless. The whole game is bland, empty and lifeless. It props itself up on the idea of robot wildlife but has no style or signature of it's own besides that idea. It's just Far Cry 3 with robo animals.
Robot dino setting could have been kino if the whole setting, including the humans were more robotic. Like if the protag and most humans were also cyborgs and there was a lot more weird technology to go with the tribal stuff it could have a cool setting
but the humans simply being some native americans with spears and bows in the jungle/desert with the ultra high tech dinos just being around randomly is so fricking unfitting
Aloy is also such a fricking boring design. Like she is the female equivalent of short hair marine whiteguy, but the devs must have thought that her being female is enough to make her interesting.
there is only extensive explaination for why the robots look like dinos, but there is no good reason why the humans are as hyper primitive as they are outside of "it's a post-apocaliptic setting bro". They are absolutely surrounded by new technology and the renmants of old technology, yet they are still using fricking spears and arrows and live in tents
no, there is
i don't quite remember how it went but they were supposed to be taught by machines, there are like teaching modules and everything in one level if i remember correctly
something went wrong though
The Apollo database was destroyed by Ted Faro. The new generation of humans were fricked. Wtf are you on about?
>new generation of humans
I don't remember everything but was the world suddenly populated by only babies?
regardless humans can put two and two together if they are surrounded by technology, or if the reasoning of the devs is that humans are incapable of learning this fast without help then there is also no good reason why they are already at a stone age/ancient level technology era instead of literally knowing jackshit for 10 thousands of years

lmao, if we put you and a dozen other people in one of those African electronic recycle landfills, are you going to be able to put a working computer network together? You won't.
Also the people didn't exist for 10 thousand years.

that's one of my points tho, if the logic you are going with is going from zero then why do they already have so much ancient level technology that otherwise took humanity tens of thousands of years to achieve?
I just find it absurd (and fricking boring) that people would develop a very samey ancient technology even if they were surrounded by loads of renmants of modern technology. It's not even the type of technology that would help you make bows sooner

Well, the robots have plenty of advanced technology and humans are able to reverse engineer it. It's not hard to figure why they're not 1:1 cavemen.
I'm not excusing the game nor did I play it but a designing tough enemies while still making them fun and fair is very hard. take elden shit's path for example. 2 enemies can stunlock you to death and most human sized bosses have an input read on your item use button that makes them cancel their current action if possible to do their quick attack and disturb you.
It's honestly the single biggest complaint I have of the game. The stunlock and besides that no iframes during critical strikes. It feels like cheating with you're fighting multiple machines and performing a critical strike on a knockdowned machine and the other machine can one shot you since you're locked in that animation. Really bizzare choice.
horizon is dumb and sucks but honestly I've always really liked this aesthetic in games of the ocean waters gently resting against the shore. It's super comfy when done right, and I feel I don't see enough of it. The only major one that comes to my mind is Sonic Adventure.
Honestly besides the combat, one of my fav things to do is just walk on the beaches near the ruins of San Francisco and watch the sun rise when I'm hungover. The oceans feels so calm. There's this underwater Tallneck there too, it's so epic.
Your source is full of shit though I admit it was pretty funny that they made Aloy legit autistic.
Guess that explains why she's so boring and awkward in the first game.
It's amazing experience if you were born yesterday and/or you're mentally challenged (i.e. a moron). For any normal people with some background in vidya HFW is nothing they already haven't seen millions of times. I wouldn't even call open world task list simulators even games any more. They are just products designed by some guy who writes excel sheets.
Game really is fricking amazing. It's so much fun to play. I just wish they'd go balls deep with the robo dinos instead of doing anything with those moronic human characters. Especially Aloy has zero depth. So clearly they are terrible at that part but great at pretty much everything else.
Does anyone find it funny (and sad) that the only things people know about Horizon (outside of the robot animals) is that the MC is so ugly the only thing people wanted to have gigaautistic debates about was her appearance; and the moment Elden Ring came out everyone instantly forgot about it.
Now, on to the question: What release will BTFO Horizon 3 in the future?
Only because the game is so fricking boring and uninteresting that they do this.
This has all the makings of a popular normie game, but even they won't act like they enjoy sitting through the bland story and droning dialogue.
I'm pretty sure only women care about these games and all the men who bought the first game when it was 20 dollars (great way to act like a really really expensive-to-make game sold gangbusters, btw) realized that it's such an unmemorable experience 2 hours in.
How the FRICK do you get people to not care about fighting robot dinosaurs? I already listed reasons why this game is mediocre at best but It really is incredible how they fricked it up.
>huge
It really doesn't. It has a vocal group of fans that are on social media but aside from that, it doesn't.
They didn't even bother releasing the sales numbers for the game here in the United States. Only two weeks after the release of the first game we saw NA sales numbers of 2.6 million being reported. The sequel surely sold less than that.
>it has a huge fanbase, what are you talking about?
lol no a few spastic trannies pretending to like it on twitter doesn't correlate into the real world.
I do kinda agree, the last quater of the game was clearly rushed.
The Base and the way Far Zenith were handled ruined the feel of wonder at exploring and rediscovering earth. Also, the Utaru and their culture was extremely lame. Ditto with the Tenakth, but they were a little better.
Yeah. I generally don't like parroting critics (or other people's opinions in general), but I agree with Yahtzee about how tame and boring the tribes in FW are. The Tenakth are supposed to be the hyper militaristic/warrior tribe, and everyone talks like they're bored or people you'd meet in San Fran or Los Angeles. None of them sound or act like people who are constantly warring and going through martial trials (besides Regalla).
i have no idea who buys these games, it is genuinely baffling to me
horizon games are the most mediocre open world experiences ever made, the only "good" thing is the graphics which is a testament to budget rather than creative liberties
the combat is all shallow garbage, the AI is terrible, the npc conversations are laughable, the pacing is horrid, Aloy as a character is both ugly and uninteresting and not to mention LITERALLY autistic
I was not a huge fan of the third act of the game. The Zeniths were very poorly written and as a result, I did not feel much impact from the Nemesis twist at all.
One thing they got right is that she actually looks autistic.
I was not a huge fan of the third act of the game. The Zeniths were very poorly written and as a result, I did not feel much impact from the Nemesis twist at all.
I'm interested in seeing how they tackle Hephaestus and what Sylens is thinking. He did hint more than once that now that the Apollo database has been acquired there perhaps maybe an alternative.
Heph being loose again was inevitable since you can’t have a game without it being hostile. And same with Apollo, humanity isn’t gonna be armed with tanks and planes suddenly even if you spent 10 years teaching them right now, so all it’s gonna do is maybe give you some fancier bows in the next game
So status quo for next game no matter what Nemesis does.
I loved both the first one and this game, I really don't understand why people hate on it here. The machines are cool looking and fun to fight. They have tons of attacks and you fight them in a bunch of different environments so the fights are different every time. And the animations and sound effects are great, it's really fun to blast a machine component off and see the machine recoil and roar at you.
I see people complain about there being too many map markers and collectables but you literally don't have to do any of that if you don't want to, nothing stops you from just doing all the story missions and ignoring sidequests and collectables. And the story is pretty good by video game standards.
I guess some people just don't like the tribal setting but I think it's pretty cool, and I've lived in or visited a bunch of locations from the games so I always think it's cool to see how guerrilla imagined they would look in the future. The graphics are also amazing so just running around and taking a nature tour can be pretty fun
I thought Aloy to be too annoying a character. She's too preachy, and not in a entertaining preachy like Geralt. Felt like I was listening to one of my sister's self-righteous rants the whole time. Aside from that it's a good game I guess.
I really liked Zero Dawn, the combat felt pretty tight because the hitboxes on the dinosaurs were really well done. I could dodge by inches and get into a blind spot and finish off the dinobot things and that was always really cool. I'll pick this up when it comes to PC.
I find it extremely annoying that they nerfed dodging in HFW. Now Aloy stumbles if you dogde 3 times in a row. I understand they didn't want you to spam dodge iframes but come on. Given how brutally agressive and superfast pretty much all of the machines are now, it seems so counterintuitive. Specially given machines roam in packs now. Sure you can learn the patterns as always, and do like that the new Apex variants have different movesets than their vanilla counterparts but still, it can be extremely frustrating, also, the stagger animation for Aloy lasts a week!
You need to use the slide in combination with dodge rolls in FW. If you roll, roll, then slide into a roll you won't stumble. The slide has iframes and is the fastest you can move while not on a mount.
Yes I prefer sliding/dodge combo too, a habit I cultivated since HZD, sometimes there just isn't any time, I mean the relentless attacks of the Shellsnappers, man it gets overwhelming.
Frick graphics, I like it for the artistic direction. You can say Cyberpunk has better graphics or RDRD2 but those feel sterile. Horizon is so stylized. I know it's subjective ofc, just my preference.
Someone once called GoT "A Vanilla Pudding" couldn't have put it more precisely as that. It's the blandest forgetful game I've ever played. Not that there's anything wrong with it, it does what it's supposed to do adequately, but nothing more. It's like "The Last Samurai" of Samurai media. Just souless.
Strange that it doesn't get much hate, I guess, weebs.
This is a game kids in middle school think it's the coolest shit ever. I honestly can't imagine anything more embarrassing than enjoying this as an adult. Play weebshit, bing bing wahoo, gatcha games whatever. But this robot dinos thingie? moronicly tasteless
Not many can frame a picture correctly. It being next gen with high fidelity visual makes it far easier to compose a nice picture, specially with the Photo modes that are more and more accessible to people.
It doesn't compete with the ones done through hacks and shaders, but it's still enjoyable regardless.
definitely one of the best walking sims currently on the market
Looks awesome, the robo dinosaurs will never not be stupid though. If it was real dinosaurs it would have been 100x more engaging
what makes "real dinosaurs" better for your experience? Honestly, ironically your comment sounds more moronic, How would would it make any difference in gameplay?
It would be more tense, more aesthetically pleasing, probably more scary, and would foster a better story. The generic robots makes the world seem bland and empty, and lifeless.
You lost me at generic.
>The generic robots makes the world seem bland and empty, and lifeless.
woow it's like robots almost killed all the life in the world or something
>It would be more tense
I don't see how. Weather organic or robot a dinosaur is a dinosaur, the tenseness will still be the same regardless.
It has the power of the Sony exclusive budget and a horde of tasteless teenagers to eat it up.
>what makes "real dinosaurs" better for your experience?
It's better to beat some meat than to whack metal
Robot dino setting could have been kino if the whole setting, including the humans were more robotic. Like if the protag and most humans were also cyborgs and there was a lot more weird technology to go with the tribal stuff it could have a cool setting

Aloy is also such a fricking boring design. Like she is the female equivalent of short hair marine whiteguy, but the devs must have thought that her being female is enough to make her interesting.
it's pretty fitting within the context of the game, the story is actually quite good
there is only extensive explaination for why the robots look like dinos, but there is no good reason why the humans are as hyper primitive as they are outside of "it's a post-apocaliptic setting bro". They are absolutely surrounded by new technology and the renmants of old technology, yet they are still using fricking spears and arrows and live in tents

she's the clone of a comp sci nerd
I'm not excusing the game nor did I play it but a designing tough enemies while still making them fun and fair is very hard. take elden shit's path for example. 2 enemies can stunlock you to death and most human sized bosses have an input read on your item use button that makes them cancel their current action if possible to do their quick attack and disturb you.
You can get stunlocked in Forbidden West too since Aloy takes a fricking nap and stays on the ground forever anytime she's knocked down
It's honestly the single biggest complaint I have of the game. The stunlock and besides that no iframes during critical strikes. It feels like cheating with you're fighting multiple machines and performing a critical strike on a knockdowned machine and the other machine can one shot you since you're locked in that animation. Obsessed

Ig you have it all figured out. Oh well ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Too many ugly characters constantly talking at you. Not enough robot dinosaurs.
Fix your taste in video games/find a better job shill.
What else to say.
I'm good thanks
he's right doe , imagine shilling for hzd trash
I ship Aloy with the Dung Eater from Elden Ring because their games released close to each other.
Copypaste comment. Just like the bosses in ER. kek
>. Just like the bosses in ER.
Don't talk to me about copycat bosses if you play Horizon Zero Dawn moron
Aloy and Dung Eater are cute together! CUTE!
Where's the ass and loose armor
Somebody post it
Game really is fricking amazing. It's so much fun to play. I just wish they'd go balls deep with the robo dinos instead of doing anything with those moronic human characters. Especially Aloy has zero depth. So clearly they are terrible at that part but great at pretty much everything else.
It was fun for killing that week until Elden Ring released. Feels good having disposable income.
I'm the opposite I killed time with Elden Ring during the wait for HFW NG+.
I still tell myself I'm going to get in there and finish HFW one of these months. Maybe this winter.
Does anyone find it funny (and sad) that the only things people know about Horizon (outside of the robot animals) is that the MC is so ugly the only thing people wanted to have gigaautistic debates about was her appearance; and the moment Elden Ring came out everyone instantly forgot about it.

I refuse to acknowledge this franchises existence and I never met anyone who didn't do the same LOL
So brave sister
Far Zeniths and the base ruined the game
I guess you're moronic enough to take Aloy shitposters seriously.
Have a nice day.
I don't understand what you're saying.
The Base and the way Far Zenith were handled ruined the feel of wonder at exploring and rediscovering earth. Also, the Utaru and their culture was extremely lame. Ditto with the Tenakth, but they were a little better.
Tanaketh was kind lame too. They just turned out to be a normal tribe instead of the bloodthirsty berserkers you were led to believe in the first game
I don’t know if this was suppose to teach us a hippy lesson about not judging people just by rumors but it was a letdown to see how tame they were
It's a problem with "realistic and grounded" writing in general. It can be good, but also forgettable.
Also that's my cropped+flipped Aloy screenshot from 5 years ago
It's a great screenshot
Tenakth have the best outfits tho
I do kinda agree, the last quater of the game was clearly rushed.
Shredder Gauntlets are fricking OP.
Maybe I would play it but the woman character looks like Nickado avacado and I'm not a latin American or Brazilian so I don't own a Sony console .
bearded woman game

bros... i think im in love...

Here comes the troony chaser
I played the game.
I was not a huge fan of the third act of the game. The Zeniths were very poorly written and as a result, I did not feel much impact from the Nemesis twist at all.

Wonder what the DLC will be about. Hope it's LA or the Hoover Dam location. Maybe it's another AI like Cyan in the Frozen Wilds in HZD.
Can't wait, I like that Guerilla follows the FromSoft tradition of tougher bosses and enemies than the base game in the DLC
First game was one of the most dull and generic open world games I ever played. How is second one any better?
It's not. You're in a shill thread.
Unironically think Horizon has one of the best combat systems ever.
I'll look forward to the mods when it comes to PC
I loved both the first one and this game, I really don't understand why people hate on it here. The machines are cool looking and fun to fight. There's something about AAA games that gives me 0 desire to play it. Just the appearance makes me feel depressed and I want to get away from it asap.
>omg it has beautiful graphics
Nice sim, comfier that god of war but it's a shitty game
Frick graphics, I like it for the artistic direction. You can say Cyberpunk has better graphics or RDRD2 but those feel sterile. Horizon is so stylized. I know it's subjective ofc, just my preference.
Lmao this is beyond moronic. Horizon is so generic and soulless. It feels like it was made by some incel IT guys instead of actual artists.
Ghost of sushi did the movie game thing better.

Funny how snoy didn't even attemt to market the game based on any of its positive qualities. They went all in on anti-chud memes

Aloy <3
They should have made her prettier, it's really that simple.
>They should have made her prettier,
Nope, I hate moeshitters and I want you restricted to the Far East with your degenerate cousins
Now, that's a beautiful screenshot. You have more where I can check them?
just google them. twitter is full of people who think theyre photographers for taking screenshots in next game games
Next game games?

I like these games for being faithfully recreated national parks: the game but with robo dinos. I just wish they were less far cry-ish.

Typical snoy
