Still waiting for that Mario Musou game that the dev wanted to do. I didn't care enough about Zelda to play through more than the first map on the Wii U version of this one.
great, they can reuse any number of hammer movesets form other musou games. shockwave hammer. hammer that grows into a big hammer. spin the hammer like the tazmanian devil.
i guess mario sports games prove it will sell just so long as it looks like mario

It's a spinoff series. Mario can use a hammer all he wants just like his RPG games.
Completed LoZ + Master Quest, Great Sea + Master Quest, Termina and TP
I think I completely botched my main fairy before I stopped playing. Will probably get back in it sometime.
Indeed. Wasn't going to buy it at all but they had a discount bin randomly in the hallway a few weeks back at Walmart and it was on top.
As I had already gleaned, it was definitely not what I wanted in another game. Or a musou in general for that matter. Even kinda open world shit simply does not work outside pure action adventure games.
Not to mention all of the content it's missing when compared. Unless it unlocks after the end there's no free mode or anything, let alone fun shit like adventure maps.
I will say I enjoy how much more fluid the gameplay generally is (once again, Impa best character, though certainly a downgrade in design) but some of the characters just fricking suck. Like I think pretty much everyone, I hate Agatha but I want to smash my face into a wall trying to use the jank shit here. I would rather use Agatha for the rest of time than use characters like Revali, Reba, or Riju ever again.
And the fricking wall jumping mechanic is pure cancer that seems to be designed for nothing but fricking you up trying to dodge near trees or doorways. It doesn't add a fricking thing. It's not like you can glide over edges or anything when on multilayered places. What the hell is the point of it?
In general I have a feeling I'd hate it much more if I the last action combat game I had played before it wasn't Okami which was terrible.
Its not a classical musou, and not a follow up to the first one.
But its a perfect tie-in game. It really does feel like you're playing BOTW with different characters and similar mechanics. In that regard I was pretty happy, while still disappointed that we didn't get a modern Zelda Musou spanning the entire franchise.
I played it last year, took me about 250 hours to finish the story mode + all adventure maps with all S ranks. I also grinded "perfect" weapons (double element weapons with 5*) for almost all the cast.
Pretty fun game.
Never bothered doing all the adventure maps due to the endless repetition and being forced to use the worst characters of the game so much.

>than use characters like Revali, Reba, or Riju ever again.
Revali and Reba are some of the best characters to clear shit and fun to play too. Maybe you got filtered by the dual layer between flying and ground combat, or maybe you're just moronic to begin with.
>Maybe you got filtered by the dual layer between flying and ground combat
That is the easiest part of them to deal with. They are just terrible characters and zoom around like morons though. Sounds like you're the one who comprehends morons best so you should step out of that glass house.
I didn't mind that it was going to be more story focused, but >had the chance for some really cool scenarios >shit on all of it with time travel egg
game was fun, but I was so disappointed that I never bothered with postgame or dlc
I don't think I saw a single thread when AoC dlc released.

Pretty fun game.
Beat the main one and got all the weapons and armor. Got maybe 50% through Wind Waker, about 20% Majoras Mask, and maybe 10% of Master Quest. Unlocked all the characters except Coco and the Link Between Worlds guys. Taking my time and knocking off levels here and there in between games.
>big tiddy goth villainfu in a low cut top who shows off her breasts at every opportunity
How the FRICK did they even get away with this character? How did Nintendo allow this?
Because not only did Nintendo start to push sex appeal on the Wii-U (literally helped design the Nintendo costumes for Bayo 2) the Zelda series was always horny. Just Google Telma from TP you fricking fake fan.
Do people who make these comments still live in the 90's? Why do you people still think Nintendo is "le wholesome family company" that doesn't like sex or violence?
Urbosa was from the latest Zelda game and she fights in a skirt, a Bikini top and high heels. Nintendo abuse their family friendly status to get away with shit you would be crucified for elsewhere. The protagonist from XC2 literally fricked babies into multiple women and you never hear normies know about this.

>playing the 3DS version on a N3DS for the first time, didn't have a computer good enough for Wii U emulation at the time >sometimes bases will just fricking blow up for no reason if I'm messing around near a wall >get computer good enough to emulate the Wii U version, plus the Switch version is on the horizon >it turns out there are Bomb Flowers lining keep walls that the 3DS version just does not render at all, even as sprites, but they're still physically there and interactive
>b***h keels over to a slight wind >comes back as a wraith and attacks me instead of the thing that killed him >fights much harder than he ever did in his pathetic life
What the frick was his problem?
Imp Midna since I could completely turn my brain off and just spam C3 mindlessly.
Other characters tend to have different combos that are best for different things (one for crowds, one for commanders, one for giant bosses), but Imp Midna was special since her C3 was the best in all contexts at once.
Yuga, only because this game would be the only time he'd get acknowledged outside of ALBW and they fricking delivered. A shame he was DLC, but hey. It only makes me angrier that HWDE wasn't HW2 and AoC HW3, there's a lot of characters like Yuga and Marin that could benefit from popping up in a game like this.
Loved using Link Epona cause my friend and I would chant battle horse as we trampled over hoards of enemies, Imp Midna she had some devastating combos Imp just so satisfying using her great sword to finish off a weakness exposed enemy.
Ruto feels fricking amazing once you figure out how to time her combos. Destroying big bosses with her is great. Toon Zelda just roll2win is fun as hell too.
I don't remember if I ever touched her on my previous playthroughs. But in my current one I haven't used Agitha even once. And haven't played any map squares limited to her.
Medli is basically Agitha with a shred of gray-matter behind her moveset design, hell Agitha herself was a pick since TP doesn't have many notable characters that aren't Link, Zelda, Ganondorf and Midna
Haven't touched her yet on this playthrough either. (Haven't had to) But I remember before I actually found her quite fun. Also I guess a similar reason for being added since they kind of run out of WW characters after TL, Tetra and Daphnes.
>that map where Ganondorf, Ghirahim and Zant have to capture Lana >she splits into several copies and darts off in different directions >can't deal with this shit and she gets away >Ghirahim screaming at her in frustration >Ganondorf going "god damnit..." completely out of breath >game over
You have to use the minimap to order everyone to an objective, and deal with it when they reach it.
Everyone including Ganondorf, so he doesn't just run back to some bullshit on the wrong end of the map while you're switched over to Girahim or whatever.

I just caught them all where they started and killed all of them at once.
If you have a decent trident you can exploit Lana's weakness to lightning element to kill her faster.
And if you didn't know every enemy has an elemental weaknesses, good.
It's also worth noting that only NPCs have weaknesses, not players. On a map with an computer controlled Lana while the player is also Lana, the computer controlled Lana will take more damage from electrical attacks than the player controlled Lana. And that's not even counting the elemental defense boosts you can get on characters, which don't apply to computer controlled versions.

Additionally, a boss's elemental weakness is different: instead of taking more damage, their weakness gauge depletes quicker if you use an attack that triggers the element in question. For instance, this allows you to one cycle Argorok with Link's gloves doing the attack that launches triple lightning blasts. It's also why Gohma is laughable for any character that is dark type.
You can defeat Lana before she splits up. She only creates copies of herself when she reaches a trigger on the map, which is just outside the cave entrance.
>Next adventure mode square >Limited to a character that's behind on levels and I don't want to grind them up >Turn the game off and come back later
How do I stop doing this?
Problem is getting those weapons, I'm trying not play the maps out of order this time. Only exception is the first map having Toon Link unlockables so started Great Sea for him.
Can I play this on mute? Because it seems like a good muso game and I'd play those while in teams meetings at work
Nothing in the game really requires audio so yeah, also probably better than hearing the same exact song when the enemy base opens in every goddamn map square.
Absolutely.
I recommend playing a few levels at the start to hear the music, but after that you'd do well to play an audiobook or some youtube playlist.
I don't even remember, it's been too long since I played. I'm just kind of waiting for them to decide to make a new Musou game. Either Kirby or Xenoblade would be good.
They put a "cover" on her breasts for the sake of censorship but personally I think that made her look more sexual. Now it's like there's something there to hide, and I want to see it.
>took out musou elements just to be a generic action title >shitty time travel alternate timeline plot >bad voice acting >no playable villain >no new enemies besides elemental variants
What a shitshow
>Kohga
Reformed >Calamity Ganon
Decent but had no actual presence as the primary villain
Astor should have been playable especially since he’s one of the few characters with a good VA
>took out musou elements just to be a generic action title >shitty time travel alternate timeline plot >bad voice acting >no playable villain >no new enemies besides elemental variants
What a shitshow
The original was fun because it made a fun story not caring if it would be canon or not.
New game restricted its possibilities of having fun stuff so that it could be considered canon, except that it is still not canon and an alternate universe'. wtf why not add a multiverse of characters or a more interesting plot?
yeah. Fi's only real issue is that she's light elemental in a game with many, many good light elementals. her ability to dodge while attacking just isn't that useful. its really that her moveset is great but there's no situations where she's best at what she does without giving up more useful things like Sword Link's range
on the plus side, she's fricking adorable and you can see up her skirt when she does the light imbue and it outlines her thighs
So what do the fairies do exactly? I've never really bothered with it. I opened the menu once, saw it was like one of those dress-up mobile games for little girls, went back to playing the normal game and didn't touch it again.
Fairies are the true game breakers. It's been a while since I messed with them, but if you get one with Bombos and level it, that cast can instaclear a keep and shreds the defence of all enemies in a wide radius. The passives you can get on them are also completely busted, like infinite magic, infinite musou bar, xp and rupee multipliers, and so on. It takes a whole lot of work to get them there, though.
Fairies have two purposes, and both of them are broken.
First is that they can consume magic to drop a nuke on the battlefield centred on your position. The size and power of the nuke increases with your Fairy's level and the clothes she's wearing, but even a low level nuke covers a large area and has the power to take out mooks, and sometimes it even manages to hit twice. But that's not all, as nukes will be granted up to two elements as the Fairy grows in level, which will leave a lingering aura within the blast zone. Fire lowers enemy defense, while Water boosts ally defense. Light grants health regeneration for allies, while Dark drains enemy health. Lightning causes enemies to slow down.
Their other purpose is Skills. These have a wide variety of effects that are activated like Health Potions, and are learned by raising personality traits through making them consume different food items.
He probably has a shit ton of progress on the wii u and doesn't want to do it again.

Fairies can kill enemies that have not even spawned in yet. Absurdly op on ko missions
Imprisoned sucks in a cramped area where he can yeet you all over the place completely unchallenged. When you're in an open space, the manhandala is worse. They are both terrible.
The switch version makes a lot of good changes to adventure mode though. Getting A rank for damage is way easier and you can buy map items from the shop.
The best version of Warriors Orochi 3 is on PC.
Then theres DW8: Xtreme Legends and Empires
After that maybe go back and play 4. After that you're now finished with playing games by Omega Force.
Depends exactly on what you're measuring.
Something like DW8XL has a frickload more content than HW, and personally I liked the combat of PW4 much more than any other musou (for the characters that actually have aerial combos, the ones that don't are painful to play as).
In general though the licensed musous are almost always worth playing as long as you actually care about the license.
Knowing the franchise is most of the appeal of a licensed musou, I can't really recommend either of them if you don't know One Piece.
As for differences >3 covers the entire story (up the point it was released) though very abridged for some arcs, 4 covers specific arcs and can go into a bit more detail into those arcs in exchange. >Because of the focus in specific arcs, a lot of (popular) characters from 3 got cut because the arcs they were most relevant in aren't featured in 4. Most of 4's new characters are from the new arcs in 4 that weren't in 3 because they happened after that game released.
You can enjoy both games with no knowledge of One Piece but story wise PW 3 is probably better because it tries to hit every arc where as PW4 skips around a lot. Still not something I would tell a non fan to buy unless they really like Warriors games.
Gameplay wise 3 is much better with things like dodge offset and every character having a full number of stings
HW is the one that scratches my battlefield micromanagement the most, a lot of the other musous are too much go from point A to B which is a little disappointing
Fire Emblem Three Hopes is also a good one but has a lot of downtime, walking around the base doing all this other shit leveling up classes and whatever, best approached with an RPG mentality
Does it still do the thing Fire Emblem Warriors 1 does where you can direct the other characters to go places and they'll probably actually be able to achieve the task on their own, especially if they have triangle advantage.
I always liked that more than HW where you still have to switch to them to make things happen.
Yeah they're still useful like that, don't quite remember if you can give them orders before the battle starts like in the first one, but giving commands is pretty straightforward regardless
Yes. >battle starts >tell all other characters where to go >head off with your controller character to defeat some enemies >after that, switch to another then give instructions to your original character to do something >then switch again, giving out instructions to the characters you switched off from
If you kepe this up you can essentially blitz through missions, as you're removing all downtime from moving from one objective to another as the rest of you will command the rest of your team to do it while you actually fight with your selected character, then once your other characters reach their goals you swap to them to quickly deal with whatever's there.
It's a lot of menuing which can be annoying for some people but personally I liked it a lot, keeps battles very dynamic.
It's a fun mechanic. It feels silly that the impetus for Fire Emblem Warriors was not anyone at Koei being particularly fond of the franchise but instead Nintendo going "Hey, this mechanic you added to Hyrule Warriors Legends reminds me of playing Fire Emblem, you should make a Fire Emblem Warriors", but that mechanic really does feel well suited for Fire Emblem.
Kind of but not really?
Because the goal of Hopes was to have almost every character from Houses playable, they reworked how movesets work.
Your moveset is now decided by your class rather than character, and every character can go into almost any class. Each character also has a few personal skills that can change how the character functions a bit compared to others in that same class.
Reclassing lets you inherit skills and combat arts that you can then use in different classes.
>Cut Dressrosa Robin and Nami from PW 4 despite Dressrosa being a major art in the game. >Won’t add any Film Red costumes despite having a pack dedicated to it.
PW 4 despite being an ok game annoys me when it comes to fanservice, the game fails after coming from PW 3
I always thought blue was a good color on it, so it makes a great accent.
It's a shame it never got added to the amiibo outfits in TotK even though they made a BotW artstyle version of it for AoC.
I've always thought the scarf would look better if it was red and/or was a cape/cloak instead, but even then it's still the best design by a large margin. Shame that because it's Koei Tecmo we'll probably never see it or the game-exclusive characters again.
I've had this on my WiiU since Day 1 and only beat the Twilight Princess map a few days ago. Once MM is done then I can say I'm finished. Where does the time go anons?
Moving onto a new map is anti-hype. Going from more tense and rewarding maps to boring 10 minute rupee fest slogs picking up a bunch of shitter weapons sucks ass.
Maybe it's for the best because you know what the discussion around her would be nowadays
Funny how she only exists because of Aonuma's Wind Waker autism >Aonuma we made a cute sister for Link >REEEEEEEEEEEE LINK ONLY HAS ONE SISTER HER NAME IS ARYLL I INVENTED HER >ok ok she's not his sister jesus christ
Frick now there's a square that requires Agitha, and there seems to be no other way around it. What do I do? She hasn't been used at all, level 1, no badges.
Unlock her combo up to the C3 attack and give her a few levels so her attack isn't pitiful (given that you're unlikely to have a good weapon for her).
Once you're in the mission just spam C3 over and over. You can cancel out of the attack as soon as you see the glowing circle on the ground, then start another one right away.
Just started playing this. What's with the idol waifu bait and her evil twin trope? They did the same shit with Mega Man X Dive, since when is this a thing? Also the "Story is pretty much about the OCs but they go bother characters from this franchise"
Would be lying if I said I haven't jacked it to the chocolate twin but I'd rather have a story from the same universe, also Vaati
People are uncreative and this is the best they can come up with when doing a "franchise celebration" type game that pulls in characters and locations from across a franchise that spans different eras.
What would you have done?
I'm not about to "How would I fix it" because I'm no writer and it doesn't bother me as much but the obvious "muh anime" characters do make it a bit uncomfortable to play with family, or anyone older than 20. That being said I'd just make ganondorf the one plotting shit or another barely used villain like Vaati or Agahnim idk
Fi and Agatha both suffer because their best strengths can't make up for their shortcomings. Fi is all about literally dancing around the crowds and handling the mobs, but she suffers in solo combat. Meanwhile Agatha has juggles for days but no range and the game isn't built AROUND juggling so her damage output is a lot lower than it could be.
I fricking suck at the bosses, I feel like I'm missing something fundamental
I think I need to dump damage when their weak-point gauge appears, then beat their ass while they're stunned
But how TF do I get those gauges to appear? It feels kind of random- the most consistent I've got is to shoot Gohma with the bow after her eye turns red, but that only happens after one of her attacks, and baiting it out has me confused
Yeah, fighting bosses is just sitting there waiting for them to do their One Attack so you can use the right item to open their weak point to do damage.
You need to stand around them and wait for them to use their move you can counter.
The only real way to influence this is by standing at specific distances so they can't use certain moves, for example with Gohma you don't want to stand next to her so she can't do this attack where she slices in front of her since that attack can't be countered.
Also, IIRC, if you have magic, you can activate it then end it early with a special attack to force the boss to reveal their weak point.
>Also, IIRC, if you have magic, you can activate it then end it early with a special attack to force the boss to reveal their weak point.
You recall correctly.
Every boss has particular attacks that make their gauge appear, and usually can be triggered by being in a certain range. If you're too close or too, they'll never do it (which is why novice players will rage about Manhandla always spazzing all over the place)
Dodongo - when it inhales for a fireball
Gohma - any time it uses an eyeball attack that turns its eye blue
Manhandla - when the heads turn green
Argorok - when its tail glows blue
Helmaroc - when he pecks the ground
Ganon - when his gem glows
Two exceptions are The Imprisoned and Phantom Ganon. You can technically make The Imprisoned's gauge appear any time just by smashing his toes. However, because of this he has the shortest weakpoint gauge window of all bosses and will always perform his slip-and-slide and then shockwaves when he's done to make up for it.
Phantom Ganon you have to beat at the usual Tennis match first, and then when he switches to two sword mode you have to strike him in the back. The easiest way for that is to just use bombs on him and the weird hitboxes will do all the work for you.
Ok, this should help. thx for your responses, Gankerros
Slightly related question, if I level and gear a hero then fight against them in a mission, will they be, you know- levelled and geared?
I want to try Volga, Cia, Gannondorf etc but haven't beaten the Main Quest yet. I don't want to get fricked by a hero enemy 3X my level after beefing them up on the adventure map.
And one more thing- on the pre-mission loadout screen, I can only choose equipment for your main hero. Am I moronic, is there some way to choose each character's weapon? ATM the only method I've got is chosing one, starting a mission and immediately quitting, repeat.
I'm missing something, right? I just want Link to have this weapon, Shiek use this one, and Ruto use this one.
>ATM the only method I've got is chosing one, starting a mission and immediately quitting, repeat.
You can in Adventure Mode, but in Legend mode it just picks whatever the other characters last used besides your initial pick.
Gotta wait for the one move that you can counter with a sub weapon or use a special attack attack while on Focus Spirit, if you're playing on Switch or 3DS always command your other allies to fight the boss since it gives you more magic for more free weakpoints, also if you got enough special attacks while the pizza is up you're more likely to one-cycle and if you got Naginata Impa you can just one cycle anything by using her C1

Also while mentioning weakness gauges, special mention should be made for Zant. While all generals will use attacks that show their gauge, Zant is special because his gauge shows up when his meter overflows (the same way it does for the player). As such, the optimal strategy for him is to actually block his attacks (especially the stomp and giant mask) as he'll continue to use these moves and fill his meter faster.
You can tell Omega Force loved Zelda 1 not because of how much care they put referencing the game into Hyrule Warriors, but for the sheer amount of "you figure it out yourself and talk with your friends" systems and bullshit they put into the damn thing. Things like Zant, elemental weaknesses, etc, none of it explained. Heck, the sub weapon icon that appears over the head of an enemy when they do a certain move? The icon wasn't in the Wii U version.
>The icon wasn't in the Wii U version.
well yeah but IIRC they had a tutorial for boss weaknesses anyway (or they introduced the boss and the subweapon in the same stage or something)
He's also the reason why No Healing > No Guarding.
You shouldn't be taking anywhere close to enough damage to risk death if you're going for max ranks, so No Healing is a free damage boost, while No Guarding prevents you from dealing with Zant properly, which hurts for all the non-Light characters.
>traitor map >"all traitor soldiers are headed towards commander" >that should be fine and I have enough kills that I should be able to just run to the boss and wi- >commander dead immediately
>map allows a secondary >choose op link with Master sword >he should be fi- >link is in danger >run to heal him >it's two bokoblin raid captains
Why is ally ai so garbage?
Extreme morale poison. If they're not on screen, they're going to die if your morale is bad. This game is probably the worst when it comes to morale babysitting.
Don't think the emulator matters too much. What does is that you run the game with OpenGL and not Vulkan. Basically any "effect" (attack particles, projectiles, keep barriers, etc.) won't render at all on Vulkan.
Why did nintendo stop printing this?
no idea, still a fun game, been playing it on emulator.
Why have games in general been going out of print quickly?
Because people stopped buying physical games as often and retail stores don't want to have unmovable inventory.
Because they were incentivized to stop buying physical. The goal is subscription access to games so you own nothing.
Because they make more money when you buy digitally
Imagine how much GB of system memory it costs
Still waiting for that Mario Musou game that the dev wanted to do. I didn't care enough about Zelda to play through more than the first map on the Wii U version of this one.
>Mario Musou
no thanks
Well that's how I feel about Zelda. The series became lame after the Seasons/Ages games.
the main character at least has a sword. mario is famous for jumping on enemies, not mashing a button to spawn enormous hitboxes
Mario punches and has hammer.
great, they can reuse any number of hammer movesets form other musou games. shockwave hammer. hammer that grows into a big hammer. spin the hammer like the tazmanian devil.

It's a spinoff series. Mario can use a hammer all he wants just like his RPG games.
Could also have power-ups as weapons or other things like FLUDD. Could throw some spinoff stuff like the Parasol from Super Princess Peach for Peach.
If Ling Tong can create a hitbox from a heel drop in DW5, then Mario can create a hitbox from jumping hard.
>racking up 10k KOs with Bowser
I am not ready
God imagine doing the wario bash through a wave of enemies it'd be perfect
We need a Xenoblade Musou, one with the trilogy cast in one more game before XC4 does away with the Klaus saga.
>Kick koopa shell
>It wahoos one mirrion troops
Completed LoZ + Master Quest, Great Sea + Master Quest, Termina and TP
I think I completely botched my main fairy before I stopped playing. Will probably get back in it sometime.
I'm still sad the BotW one ended up being nothing like this.
Sad and happy at the same time.
>Sounds like you're the one who comprehends morons best
You got that right buddy.
Would have been better if it wasn't alternate timeliness bullshit and instead a real prequel. That killed all my hype
I didn't mind that it was going to be more story focused, but
>had the chance for some really cool scenarios
>shit on all of it with time travel egg
game was fun, but I was so disappointed that I never bothered with postgame or dlc
I don't think I saw a single thread when AoC dlc released.
Its a shame they never added extra stuff with TOTK adding more to the era of the series playable Rauru and Mineru would have been neat.
This game needs a proper sequel, not a BOTW tie in.
I played it last year, took me about 250 hours to finish the story mode + all adventure maps with all S ranks. I also grinded "perfect" weapons (double element weapons with 5*) for almost all the cast.
Pretty fun game.
Beat the main one and got all the weapons and armor. Got maybe 50% through Wind Waker, about 20% Majoras Mask, and maybe 10% of Master Quest. Unlocked all the characters except Coco and the Link Between Worlds guys. Taking my time and knocking off levels here and there in between games.
>stop liking evil woman
She needed rape correction from White men (me)
>plot only happened because she craved dick
SHE SHOULD HAVE WON
>her attacks involve her tulpas of you
I once jerked off to a 3D animation of her getting fricked by Wolf Link
>big tiddy goth villainfu in a low cut top who shows off her breasts at every opportunity
How the FRICK did they even get away with this character? How did Nintendo allow this?
Because Koei
Because not only did Nintendo start to push sex appeal on the Wii-U (literally helped design the Nintendo costumes for Bayo 2) the Zelda series was always horny. Just Google Telma from TP you fricking fake fan.
there is an entire race of sexy redheads with bare midriffs in oot and mm on the n64
Nintendo is immune to the Wokescolds.
I've got half of them 100% done, one more around 90%, and the rest I just got the characters and weapon unlocks.
Its an off and on sort of thing. Last time I played, I was working on trying to get the best scepter for Cia.
Mario Musou playable character +weapons wishlist:
Mario - fists, hammer, fire flower, power up suit mix
Luigi - fists, vacuum, sports mix
Peach - umbrella, emotions
Bowser - natty moveset, clown car
Toad (w/Captain toad alt) - frying pan
Yoshi - egg throwing
Wario - charging, warioware moveset
Bowser Jr. - paintbrush, clown car
DK - natty moveset
Diddy - natty moveset + guitar specials
Kamek - magic
Mouser - bombs
Goomba Tower - running into things
Other characters are fine, but I mainly want those.
Bonus giant Bowser character, similar to the Ganon mode.
Mario & Luigi - Firebrand & Thunderhand, Bros Moves, Dreamy Luigi, Paper Mario
Paper Mario - 64 Partners, TTYD Partners, Pixls, Stickers & Things, Cards & Paint, 1000 Fold Arms. They just got really good potential.
>playing the 3DS version on a N3DS for the first time, didn't have a computer good enough for Wii U emulation at the time
>sometimes bases will just fricking blow up for no reason if I'm messing around near a wall
>get computer good enough to emulate the Wii U version, plus the Switch version is on the horizon
>it turns out there are Bomb Flowers lining keep walls that the 3DS version just does not render at all, even as sprites, but they're still physically there and interactive
Haha, what Adventure map?
All of them.
Haha, there's only two of them.
I gave up. I just stare at Midna's ass.
We can't keep up...
>b***h keels over to a slight wind
>comes back as a wraith and attacks me instead of the thing that killed him
>fights much harder than he ever did in his pathetic life
What the frick was his problem?
Favorite characters in this game? I like Darunia
Cia for me.
Imp Midna since I could completely turn my brain off and just spam C3 mindlessly.
Other characters tend to have different combos that are best for different things (one for crowds, one for commanders, one for giant bosses), but Imp Midna was special since her C3 was the best in all contexts at once.
Ganondorf with Trident, Link with Master Sword, Toon Link with sword, Young Link, Volga, Darunia and Ghirahim
Based Darunia players
My other favorites are Daphnes, Linkle, Medli and Marin
Imp Midna for sure. True in 2nd place.
I really do hope a sequel happens so many more characters that could use some limelight.
Naginata Impa
Princess Ruto
>Impa with either weapon (prefer blade for normal attacks, spear for special)
>Yuga
>Linkle with crossbows
>Link with spinner
>Cucco
Yink, Tink and Ganondorf
Cia, Young Link, Gauntlets Link, Summoning Gate Lana, and Wizzro
Ganondorf with Trident, then Twili Midna
Huge fan of both Linkle movesets, Link Sword if I wanna turn my brain off, Young Link is my top pick overall.
Ruto. She's so jank to play but I love her.
Loved using Link Epona cause my friend and I would chant battle horse as we trampled over hoards of enemies, Imp Midna she had some devastating combos Imp just so satisfying using her great sword to finish off a weakness exposed enemy.
Link with Master Sword, shooting sword beams all day erry day
Sheik OoT alt
Crossbow Linkle for bosses.
Twili Midna for everything else.
Young Link
Skull Kid
Volga for special 1 spam.
I'm a sheik shitter
Darunia and Toon Zelda.
Ruto feels fricking amazing once you figure out how to time her combos. Destroying big bosses with her is great. Toon Zelda just roll2win is fun as hell too.
I don't remember if I ever touched her on my previous playthroughs. But in my current one I haven't used Agitha even once. And haven't played any map squares limited to her.
you do well, she is painful to play and her maps are as painful
Medli is basically Agitha with a shred of gray-matter behind her moveset design, hell Agitha herself was a pick since TP doesn't have many notable characters that aren't Link, Zelda, Ganondorf and Midna
Haven't touched her yet on this playthrough either. (Haven't had to) But I remember before I actually found her quite fun. Also I guess a similar reason for being added since they kind of run out of WW characters after TL, Tetra and Daphnes.
>that map where Ganondorf, Ghirahim and Zant have to capture Lana
>she splits into several copies and darts off in different directions
>can't deal with this shit and she gets away
>Ghirahim screaming at her in frustration
>Ganondorf going "god damnit..." completely out of breath
>game over
This exact mission is what has continued to filter me. WHAT DO YOU DO.
Isn't lana with book lightning herself though?
What they use has no bearing at all on what they're weak to.
Here's a quick guide.
>Next adventure mode square
>Limited to a character that's behind on levels and I don't want to grind them up
>Turn the game off and come back later
How do I stop doing this?
Use your Rupees, israelite.
Gets expensive after a certain point
It affects base damage and also amount of HP (More hits you can take while still getting A rank)
I know, and that's why I'm saying level really doesn't matter if you have a good weapon.
t. 100% HWDE (and multiple other musous)
Problem is getting those weapons, I'm trying not play the maps out of order this time. Only exception is the first map having Toon Link unlockables so started Great Sea for him.
Nothing in the game really requires audio so yeah, also probably better than hearing the same exact song when the enemy base opens in every goddamn map square.
Remember that rupee glitch where you kill a boss a certain way and it maxes out, did they patch that out?
Level really doesn't matter much compared to having a good weapon.
Can I play this on mute? Because it seems like a good muso game and I'd play those while in teams meetings at work
Absolutely.
I recommend playing a few levels at the start to hear the music, but after that you'd do well to play an audiobook or some youtube playlist.
The only thing you need audio for is Skulltulas and even then you don’t absolutely need it but it is a nice thing to help track them.
I don't even remember, it's been too long since I played. I'm just kind of waiting for them to decide to make a new Musou game. Either Kirby or Xenoblade would be good.
She's the best
Delicious Seafood
I'd marry that fish
They put a "cover" on her breasts for the sake of censorship but personally I think that made her look more sexual. Now it's like there's something there to hide, and I want to see it.
Not gonna lie the adventure maps filtered me
I still haven’t gotten Lana and Agitha’s level 3 weapons and I bought the fricking Wii U version
Still wish they added Hero’s Shade
based Setzeri enjoyer
I can't understand why they didn't give out dialogue for any o the cutscenes...
It's a great game, but far too bloated and repetitive. It's the perfect game to play, put down for a few months, and then come back to it again later
What went wrong?
>took out musou elements just to be a generic action title
>shitty time travel alternate timeline plot
>bad voice acting
>no playable villain
>no new enemies besides elemental variants
What a shitshow
>no playable villain
You get both Kohga and Calamity Ganon.
I'll reiterate what he said, what a shitshow.
Sad part is, the elemental variants were needed in TotK.
And Battke Tested Guardian, Sooga, and Monk Maz Koshia, though that last one if less of an enemy and more of a boss that is testing you.
>Kohga
Reformed
>Calamity Ganon
Decent but had no actual presence as the primary villain
Astor should have been playable especially since he’s one of the few characters with a good VA
Let's also add.
>Tiny playable roster.
>Half them them have the same moveset as the other half.
The original was fun because it made a fun story not caring if it would be canon or not.
New game restricted its possibilities of having fun stuff so that it could be considered canon, except that it is still not canon and an alternate universe'. wtf why not add a multiverse of characters or a more interesting plot?
POST FAVORITE TRACKS
This track always got me pumped even with the remixes.
based. Fi is best girl
I'm gonna be honest use to suck with Fi so much but once I got her combos down I was a ballerina of death.
yeah. Fi's only real issue is that she's light elemental in a game with many, many good light elementals. her ability to dodge while attacking just isn't that useful. its really that her moveset is great but there's no situations where she's best at what she does without giving up more useful things like Sword Link's range
on the plus side, she's fricking adorable and you can see up her skirt when she does the light imbue and it outlines her thighs
>when the horns come in
I wish this entire map was an enemy base
shit shit frick, wrong track
This is such a fricking banger
All my faves have been posted, but this one goes hard
this song best epitomizes the spirit of musou. it only plays in one hallway of one map though
my homie
The GOAT
Which adventure map is the best?
Sick of open world Zelda already, go back to linear kino
i hate this image because he hated wind waker and its obvious wind wanker is an unfinished mess
Gross. Zelda started as open world, it's nice to return to it.
There’s a huge difference between NES open world and modern open world, Zelda 1 is more like a cleverly laid out maze than an actual world
last time i played i finished the wind waker map, just gotta clean up the heart pieces and fairy items i missed
also marin best girl
So what do the fairies do exactly? I've never really bothered with it. I opened the menu once, saw it was like one of those dress-up mobile games for little girls, went back to playing the normal game and didn't touch it again.
>he's ignoring his magical nuke
I'm not.
I am so fricking sick of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbQDeDS0wAY playing on nearly EVERY SINGLE MAP
Mars chads where we at
My favorite and most played Wii U game. Only reason i ever plug it in.
Why play that one over the switch version?
No Toon shit
He probably has a shit ton of progress on the wii u and doesn't want to do it again.
Fairies can kill enemies that have not even spawned in yet. Absurdly op on ko missions
They're there, they're just not rendered.
I don't think you can hit them without the fairy though.
You cannot.

>The Imprisoned has appeared!
Is dealing with this homosexual worse than getting bad rng with the deku baba ?
Yes and it's not close.
Imprisoned sucks in a cramped area where he can yeet you all over the place completely unchallenged. When you're in an open space, the manhandala is worse. They are both terrible.
>it's a locked in a room with Imprisoned and 2 baby imprisoneds episode
I didn't want that S rank anyway...
>The Fi mission
Hope you leveled your characters and not just Link.
>switch versions hides the former dlc characters in different adventure maps so you have to go through each one once
Go frick yourself
The switch version makes a lot of good changes to adventure mode though. Getting A rank for damage is way easier and you can buy map items from the shop.
pretty sure the DLC characters are all placed near the start of the adventure maps so you don't need to progress much in each to unlock them.
Was HW the peak of Musou?
Are any other entries as good?
The best version of Warriors Orochi 3 is on PC.
Then theres DW8: Xtreme Legends and Empires
After that maybe go back and play 4. After that you're now finished with playing games by Omega Force.
Depends exactly on what you're measuring.
Something like DW8XL has a frickload more content than HW, and personally I liked the combat of PW4 much more than any other musou (for the characters that actually have aerial combos, the ones that don't are painful to play as).
In general though the licensed musous are almost always worth playing as long as you actually care about the license.
>Depends exactly on what you're measuring
I guess as an overall package.
The only good ones are Persona, PW4, and AoC.
>not 3
Can you guys elaborate on the difference between PW3 and 4?
Would I enjoy 4 if I knew nothing about One Piece?
Knowing the franchise is most of the appeal of a licensed musou, I can't really recommend either of them if you don't know One Piece.
As for differences
>3 covers the entire story (up the point it was released) though very abridged for some arcs, 4 covers specific arcs and can go into a bit more detail into those arcs in exchange.
>Because of the focus in specific arcs, a lot of (popular) characters from 3 got cut because the arcs they were most relevant in aren't featured in 4. Most of 4's new characters are from the new arcs in 4 that weren't in 3 because they happened after that game released.
Don't they have the best combat of the Musou series?
That's really a personal opinion thing.
what would you say has the best combat?
You can enjoy both games with no knowledge of One Piece but story wise PW 3 is probably better because it tries to hit every arc where as PW4 skips around a lot. Still not something I would tell a non fan to buy unless they really like Warriors games.
Gameplay wise 3 is much better with things like dodge offset and every character having a full number of stings
PW 4 anon, really.
Please tell me you have played 3 so I know you are uninformed instead of just moronic
Purse Owner isn't even a real musou game, it's just musou combat stapled onto a barebones Persona game
Should I get HWDE or AoC? Which is the better game?
PW3 had better mechanics including dodge offset and reverse combos.
HWDE hands down.
HWDE by a long shot, but AoC is usually easy to find cheap, get it when you can.
You'll have time to look.
HWDE is better by a country mile. AoC barely runs.
If it weren't for the frame drops, I'd probably say AoC, but even then, HWDE has more content than the vast majority of games ever made.
HW is the one that scratches my battlefield micromanagement the most, a lot of the other musous are too much go from point A to B which is a little disappointing
Fire Emblem Three Hopes is also a good one but has a lot of downtime, walking around the base doing all this other shit leveling up classes and whatever, best approached with an RPG mentality
>battlefield micromanagement
This is the only reason the game is fun and doesn't get stale after mashing the same combo 100 times
Yes.
>battle starts
>tell all other characters where to go
>head off with your controller character to defeat some enemies
>after that, switch to another then give instructions to your original character to do something
>then switch again, giving out instructions to the characters you switched off from
If you kepe this up you can essentially blitz through missions, as you're removing all downtime from moving from one objective to another as the rest of you will command the rest of your team to do it while you actually fight with your selected character, then once your other characters reach their goals you swap to them to quickly deal with whatever's there.
It's a lot of menuing which can be annoying for some people but personally I liked it a lot, keeps battles very dynamic.
It's a fun mechanic. It feels silly that the impetus for Fire Emblem Warriors was not anyone at Koei being particularly fond of the franchise but instead Nintendo going "Hey, this mechanic you added to Hyrule Warriors Legends reminds me of playing Fire Emblem, you should make a Fire Emblem Warriors", but that mechanic really does feel well suited for Fire Emblem.
does 3H have the same clone problem as FEW1 or is it more in line with HW
Kind of but not really?
Because the goal of Hopes was to have almost every character from Houses playable, they reworked how movesets work.
Your moveset is now decided by your class rather than character, and every character can go into almost any class. Each character also has a few personal skills that can change how the character functions a bit compared to others in that same class.
Reclassing lets you inherit skills and combat arts that you can then use in different classes.
Out of the mainline I've only played DW8XL for the Lu Bu route and that shit was peak power fantasy
The peak for me was all 4 Gundam Musou games, mainly because I like Gundam more than the other series. One Piece 3 and 4 were nice as well.
One Piece has the best musou games
>Cut Dressrosa Robin and Nami from PW 4 despite Dressrosa being a major art in the game.
>Won’t add any Film Red costumes despite having a pack dedicated to it.
PW 4 despite being an ok game annoys me when it comes to fanservice, the game fails after coming from PW 3
Yep, the amount of money they could deprive me with coomer DLC outfits yet they refuse to
Victory conditions have changed
How do you react?
This was my favorite Link design, especially his armor.
I always thought blue was a good color on it, so it makes a great accent.
It's a shame it never got added to the amiibo outfits in TotK even though they made a BotW artstyle version of it for AoC.
In the BoTW style it moggs every other Tunic hard.
I've always thought the scarf would look better if it was red and/or was a cape/cloak instead, but even then it's still the best design by a large margin. Shame that because it's Koei Tecmo we'll probably never see it or the game-exclusive characters again.
At least we got to see that idea in the SS prequel manga
I've had this on my WiiU since Day 1 and only beat the Twilight Princess map a few days ago. Once MM is done then I can say I'm finished. Where does the time go anons?
FRICK
best sword design
Moving onto a new map is anti-hype. Going from more tense and rewarding maps to boring 10 minute rupee fest slogs picking up a bunch of shitter weapons sucks ass.
>Best character is trapped in a spin off game made by a third party
We're never going to get a Linkle game...
Maybe it's for the best because you know what the discussion around her would be nowadays
That Zelinkle won?
if only
Funny how she only exists because of Aonuma's Wind Waker autism
>Aonuma we made a cute sister for Link
>REEEEEEEEEEEE LINK ONLY HAS ONE SISTER HER NAME IS ARYLL I INVENTED HER
>ok ok she's not his sister jesus christ
at least there's the BotW mod
Frick now there's a square that requires Agitha, and there seems to be no other way around it. What do I do? She hasn't been used at all, level 1, no badges.
Unlock her combo up to the C3 attack and give her a few levels so her attack isn't pitiful (given that you're unlikely to have a good weapon for her).
Once you're in the mission just spam C3 over and over. You can cancel out of the attack as soon as you see the glowing circle on the ground, then start another one right away.
Level her up in the bazaar a bit, buy her combo and other basic medals, and suck it up.
Take her to a ko contest square with a exp+ weapon
spam beetle
100% done.
What else should I do now?
Level up every character 255.
87% on standard
10% on great sea
Just started playing this. What's with the idol waifu bait and her evil twin trope? They did the same shit with Mega Man X Dive, since when is this a thing? Also the "Story is pretty much about the OCs but they go bother characters from this franchise"
Would be lying if I said I haven't jacked it to the chocolate twin but I'd rather have a story from the same universe, also Vaati
>Story is pretty much about the OCs but they go bother characters from this franchise
That happens with a bunch of crossover media, also see SRW.
Who cares about the narrative?
I might have an idea why you don't, it fricking sucks, that's my point
Yeah we all accept that. We accepted it back when the game first launched on the Wii U. b***hing about is kinda oldhat.
guilty as charged
>it's a "rallied volga" map
>it's a Fi map against one or several Imprisoned
I fricking hate Fi so goddamn much.
Still, not as bad as playing with Agitha.
>Agatha;s combos put her into the air
>Enemies on the ground can still hit her
What a stupid thing not to change.
All jump and "flying" attacks leave your hitbox on the ground. It's just a flashy animation.
I wanted to like this game more, but the bosses ruin the musou gameplay. Manhandla and the big Toe thing are especially bad
why didnt they add nabooru
I fricking suck at the bosses, I feel like I'm missing something fundamental
I think I need to dump damage when their weak-point gauge appears, then beat their ass while they're stunned
But how TF do I get those gauges to appear? It feels kind of random- the most consistent I've got is to shoot Gohma with the bow after her eye turns red, but that only happens after one of her attacks, and baiting it out has me confused
The only Musou game I've played btw.
Yeah, fighting bosses is just sitting there waiting for them to do their One Attack so you can use the right item to open their weak point to do damage.
every boss has a move or two that you need to use a subweapon to counter and make the weakness gauge appear
except the Imprisoned because the Imprisoned is actual rancid garbage to fight so you just wail on its toes while it stomps on you
Dodongo fireball charge attack = bomb in mouth
Manhandla green stalks = boomerang
Argorok blue tail = hooks hot
Or just use focus spirit to bypass waiting on them to attack in the correct way.
No, enemy generals do not match your own equipment/level, they scale with the difficulty of the stage itself
Back when zelda was good, frick botw
>when the previous game was skyward sword
lol
crazy that skyward sword is 12 years old
A Link Between Worlds*
No one cares about the remakes
It’s not a remake
Stop liking DUMB girls.
Just because she can't read a map it doesn't mean my wife Linkle is dumb!
>Pays with her body
This is supposed to be bad
>it's a Manhandla battle on a map with No Guard Allowed
Also while mentioning weakness gauges, special mention should be made for Zant. While all generals will use attacks that show their gauge, Zant is special because his gauge shows up when his meter overflows (the same way it does for the player). As such, the optimal strategy for him is to actually block his attacks (especially the stomp and giant mask) as he'll continue to use these moves and fill his meter faster.
ten fricking years to find this out
You can tell Omega Force loved Zelda 1 not because of how much care they put referencing the game into Hyrule Warriors, but for the sheer amount of "you figure it out yourself and talk with your friends" systems and bullshit they put into the damn thing.
Yeah, if you've got a Light character then weak points don't matter for Zant, it's debatably faster to shred him with combos.
Stop sticking close to manhandlas, you morons.
Doing that pisses them off
The Beast Ganon maps are ass. He's so fragile.
it's less that he's fragile and more than giant hitboxes are a huge liability. Same thing happens with Great Fairy
Your supposed to dodge all the time and grind the previous maps for exp.
>traitor map
>"all traitor soldiers are headed towards commander"
>that should be fine and I have enough kills that I should be able to just run to the boss and wi-
>commander dead immediately
>map allows a secondary

>he should be fi-
>link is in danger
>run to heal him
>it's two bokoblin raid captains
Why is ally ai so garbage?
Extreme morale poison. If they're not on screen, they're going to die if your morale is bad. This game is probably the worst when it comes to morale babysitting.
>tfw Dynasty Warriors 3 fan and playing Hyrule Warriors and seeing how badly morale gets hit
HWDE is the better game, for what few mechanical improvements AoC makes it just is too boring for me. And I'm a musou prostitute.
>weak point attack the boss
>he survives with one health
>AI finishes him off while i'm recovering
>no loot
This is why I specifically send everyone else away from the Boss.
I'm so close to getting the last weapon I need to upgrade the master sword it's fricking infuriating.
Yuzu or Ryujinx for HWDE?
Yooz
Don't think the emulator matters too much. What does is that you run the game with OpenGL and not Vulkan. Basically any "effect" (attack particles, projectiles, keep barriers, etc.) won't render at all on Vulkan.
I liked AoC, should I try this one?
I don't see why not. But you may find it a little more jank than AoC.
