I asked this in another one of these threads, even pointing out that in Bayonetta's case she was designed by a woman whose notes are documented online for everyone to see and the only notes that was given to the designer was basically "shes a witch, she's modern, and she uses guns". Everything from the sexiness to the glasses were all on the designer.
The response from more knowledgeable anons is that basically moronera people will dismiss it by saying the woman was self oppressing due to having to work in a boys club. In other words, if a woman likes it, it's because they've been brainwashed by the evil men into liking it.

Neogaf had legacy connection from the past that kept devs there, ResetEra doesnt have that and a few dev have outright condemed, and denounced it.
