I'm actually surprised at how quickly totk died. I was awestruck when I saw most online GoTY discussions being between BG3 and ironically, Starfield. Went to check the general on /vg/ too to gauge how active it was but yup, it's gone.
How the frick did ToTK die out so fast despite selling insanely well, also reviewed great too (96 on metacritic)
Unironically it's Sequelitis.
Even when something like God of War Ragnarok might be better than the 2018 game, people aren't as hyped for it long-term compared to something else.
Elden Ring may be open world Dark Souls, but to many that was new compared to Dad of War 2, especially with how many new people it brought to Souls-likes.
You can also throw in Spider-Man 2 into the same category as GoW:R, maybe even worse so.
The obvious exceptions are, ironically, the journalist darlings for the TGAs this year. Alan Wake 2 had no impact beyond journos felating it because nobody gave a shit about Alan Wake in general from day one, let alone a digital only sequel where the most prominent platform was fricking EGS.
Meanwhile, Baldur's Gate III is a 'limitless' CRPG for people who have no idea how to DnD with a VERY solid level of polish and a beautifully frontloaded act 1, which is where most people finish anyhow. People did not play Baldur's Gate nor II, or any CRPG before III for that matter, so to them it's new, but unlike Alan Wake 2, people actively cared at SOME point pre-launch.
TotK also falters here, as you can see a shitton of content of people still playing it and fricking around with the Zonai shit, but you don't have theory videos because EPD3 have been actively trying to kill them off beyond what's blatantly said/contained within the game, you don't have external stories revolving around the game like BotW had for years, you don't have a circlejerk of people blindly defending AND attacking the game on forums/social media to nearly the extent of BotW if at all; you just have a AAA game that set out to do what it targeted, succeeded with flying colours, and didn't care about anything beyond that, which is what actively works against normalgay staying power compared to something 'fresh' like they found BG3 to be, which will win based off of that alone.
This is how BotW won in 2017, how Elden Ring won in 2022, and in a fortnight it will happen again.
You're never going to convince these people. Tencent will always and forever have these people who despise anything they are involved with, just the way it is.
>I feel like the only way you wouldn't know is if you didn't play both games
Most people you'll encounter in this cesspool unironically haven't played either game and never will.
>Its not even close?
Yea, totk is an actual functioning game that isn't littered with bugs and does everything a sequel should do for a series, it's the first game but better in every way. Name one way that bg3 is better than divinity original sin
Baldurs gate 3 was in early access for at least a year before it came out, ever notice how the first act is huge and fleshed out with intrigue and the second two acts are tiny, shit and railroaded? But I'm sure you haven't played the game that far yet.
Why don't you take a guess what act the early access was limited to.
Because, ironically most people have never played divinity original sinn1 and 2, the games that baldurs gate 3 is a sequel to and is a downgrade in almost every way but the masses slurp it up because it has le epic dnd trademark on it.
People saying totk came out in 2017 don't realize how moronic they are by acting like bg3 is original in any way other than gay sex
I've already said this in another thread, but the GOTY should unironically be between RE4R and BG3. I actually DONT think BG3 should win at all. If RE4R wasn't released this year and wasn't substantially different (as proof from how many nostalgiatards insist the game is ruined for being different) then I'd actually be gunning for Alan Wake 2. Just because it's so rare to see a game try and do so many things genuinely uniquely.
gay sex
Because TotK was glorified dlc.
Because TotK was released in 2017.
Totk already won Goty 2017
A few of the big voters are huge culture warrior activists. So of course a game full of homosexualry like Bald gay 3 would win by default.
Totk was a nuts and bolts clone.

Everyone already played the game the first time it released years ago.

Ericatroony, that isn't working 😉
Larian is a Chinese company. They bot, shill, and bribe everything to fake success like Valorant
based.
I'll always support chinks over the asiatics that bent the knee to Israel-lite
>Still spamming this image
Get over it homosexual. Tencent own like 1/3 of the video game industry
You're never going to convince these people. Tencent will always and forever have these people who despise anything they are involved with, just the way it is.
It was literally just a one to one rehash of botw with some crafting gimmick slapped on
It is glorified dlc
BEAR SEXO
gangrape europoors
behead europoors
behead OP
muslims are doing it for us, at least they are cleaning /v
Because TotK is fricking dogshit while Baldur's Gate is an actual game.
>Gay bear sex
>Actual game
I feel like the only way you wouldn't know is if you didn't play both games. it's not even close?

Most adults don't own tendiestations
Who fricking cares?
>delay game by a year so it doesn’t have to compete with Elden Ring for game of the year
>lose to BG3
lol

What makes those sequels and remakes better than the Nintendo brand sequel that was actually a functional video game?
it was 100% user voted and not decided by ~~*critics*~~
reddit bots.
It's a literal poll
>seething tendie spotted
You lost
Black personhomosexuals
>beating a Zelda game
Its a fricking turn-based CRPG, normalgays can't stand that shit
what the frick?
It is reddit: the game
homosexualry trumps everything else.
d&d is a normie franchise now
What... no... what...?! Nintenbros, what the FRICK is this?!
OOh, Erica is preparing her meltdown 😉
