How did the FGC get tricked into paypigging for DLC characters? They're totally fine with it now, will even defend it tooth and nail, but I remember when they used to be vehemently against it and said only cosmetic DLC is okay.

That is the ugliest game I've ever seen in my life (on the right).
Oh SF doesn't know what it wants to be. The modern SF is actually derived from SFIII which has large hands and feet, and other exaggerations, and SFIV just made it into 3D. Since then SF can't decide if it wants to be realistic or cartoony, creating an ugly mesh.
Tekken in contrast, knows the art style it goes for, and T7 looks better than SF6.
Kek, tekken is a step about shovelware with their non expressive mannequins. I was shocked how low quality everything felt when I played the demo.
I'm sorry about your ugly goblin girls, capbuck. There's no need to cope any longer, we're here for you.
>knows the art style it goes for
Yeah, Tekken really nails that Daz3D look.
>Tekken in contrast, knows the art style it goes for
Is that why Paul and Law's faces are nothing but wrinkles while Azucena and Reina's are from two generations ago?
not my problem
fightcade still works
nu-fighters and their predatory monetization are dead to me
You're not winning this debate, OP. SF6 looks better. Using Cherrypicked images on irrelevant details won't change that.

drag shows are fun
sorry you're not
Fun for you maybe. Obviously well adjusted dudes aren't going to see any appeal in it.
Wow, this DLC costume for Manon looks almost lifelike!
There's nothing wrong with the way Street Fighter 6 looks, Street Fighter V was simply the full realisation of the Street Fighter aesthetic in 3D.
Street Fighter V (CE) is also the best 3D Street Fighter, the standards were simply too high.
Because we get content updates and the game that gave out characters for free, TTT2, bombed so hard. Everyone came to the realization casuals only care about new characters like how Smash does and people just accept it and demand free trials. Melty went with free character DLC and the game once again bombed harder than other niche anime fighters that skim your wallet.
It's the sad truth, but I hate casuals and I think casual gamers are stupid.
I'd rather have a an expensive fighter than no fighter at all and stuck with shallow survival crafting slop.
>through sheer chance!
wow! so many cohencidences every time!
Didn't want to buy new versions that the online community would migrate to
Season passes are better than the old meme of "Super SF2 Turbo Champion Ultra Max Edition HD Remix" style of adding content. It's a competitive game. If you want it to last long enough to justify sinking a bunch of time into it to git gud, then there needs to be continuous support in the form of balance updates and additional content. That doesn't come for free. If it's a game that I enjoy playing, I have no problem dropping $20 a year or so to get new characters, stages, costumes, etc.
>I have no problem dropping $20 a year
I used to drop $20 in quarters every time I went into the arcade. This is nothing. I'll buy all the characters and the skins that make them look like pirates if I want.
>but mah microtransactions
Fricking fast food costs $20 these days. Money is worthless compared to just a decade ago. Don't forget people, we only just recently left an era where a totally shit game would sit on the store shelf next to triple A games for the exact same price hoping the uninformed would pick it up for the box art alone. Like real fricking trash for $59.99.
But the triple A game IS the totally shit game?
No Dan no buy. Simple as.
Because you used to have to buy a whole new game for a few characters
SF Alpha > Alpha 2 > Alpha 3 was kino and way better than the same game getting season passes for a decade. The various iterations of SF2 didn't handle it as well, admittedly.
SF2
SF2 Turbo
and Super SF2
These were all SNES games that cost $69.99 each in 90's money (about $110 today) and were each released one year apart.
Season passes are nothing. They're a cost saver if anything. Gaming is rat-ass dirt cheap compared to any other time in history.
Yep that's why I said SF2 didn't handle it as well. The way Alpha did was kino and much better than the same game getting season passes for a decade. Also if were going to be a consoletard back then I would just get the Special CE version on Megadrive for superior D-pad and 6 face buttons and leave it at that. Play a couple cheeky credits of SSF2 in Arcade before accepting it's shit.
People didn't buy each and every update, or if they did they got it used or at a discount. It was only the hardcore players who did that, so that they could practice at home. But the hardcore players were mostly playing at Arcades back then. Check Capcom's numbers, as each SFC verison sells less and less, but they still sold well so it makes sense they'd do it.

I've never made this thread before. If someone made a similar thread recently I'm love to see it.
