If you're dealing with an addiction, kick that first. If not, you might be dealing with burnout/depression. Nothing wrong with either; no matter what any mouth breathing mongoloid on here might say.
Reach out and get professional help and look around to find someone you are comfortable talking to about mental health (if in a country where this is available to do so). Things like hobbies tend to just become distractions from our distractions when we are addicted to something or dealing with a mental health episode. It's like shoving garbage into a void.
Once you can focus yourself on the moment again, you can enjoy things too. If dealing with addiction you need to quit, don't fret; there are plenty of other vices and likewise things out there to try instead that are absolutely okay as long as they aren't ruining yours or anyone else's life.
While doing all of that, try new video games you'd never even give the time of day to before. Even if you don't play for more than a couple of minutes, it's about the same as you already are, right? Who knows, you might find something you enjoy.
Good luck to anyone out there who needs it. Video games are too awesome to lose to a negative mind space that keeps you gated from finding and playing new or old things that you enjoy.
There's nothing wrong with being sad. Anyone who is sad, post a video game you like and why. Pic related are my favourites because they fricking rule.
Thank you, my sweet. In between being nice, I also write shitposts for Ganker
Tom Cruise came into our small town gas station in 2005. War of the Worlds had just come out and he was taking a cross country tour by himself on a motocycle (not a motorcycle, he was very clear about this) and needed to fill up. He asked why the front door was there and I thought he meant, like, is it open or closed but he stopped me and said, "No. Why is it right there" like the actual spot of the door. I said I don't know, I suppose the guys building it thought that was the best spot for it. He kept pacing back and forth looking straight down muttering about getting "his guys to fix this" over and over. Anyways, he paid for his gas and asked how long I owned the place. I told him I just work there, it's an after school job. He said, "school might be now but the gas is always around" then put on his helmet and rode West out of town. I don't know what he meant by that but I always make sure to say it just in case it was smart
Honestly this. As much as I hate the DUDE meme popping a delta 8 gummy actually gets me excited to play games again. Otherwise I have zero motivation to do anything
It's like legal weed. I think it's THC derived from hemp but it's legal in a lot of states so I can order it to my door instead of finding a dealer and buying it from him. Or worse, get roped into hanging out with my weed dealer and pretending it isn't the millionth time he's brought up the "dude why isn't it even legal yet it's a plant??????” speech.
use videogames occasionally as a digital toy to frick around with when you aren't busy and not something you do all day every day. god forbid you self identify as a "gamer" past the age of 17
Real answer? Video games can no longer distract you from the reality that your life is going nowhere. Get you shit together and make progress towards a future, then you will enjoy video games again. Start lifting as well.
I rarely play games that I can't mod. It's reinvigorated my love for games and I'm dabbling in making my own mods.
If you've ever thought "it would be cool if the game had X or if Y mechanic worked like this" then modding is for you.
I can't really enjoy videogames by myself after I started working, I'm just so tired, but when my sister is tagging along I really enjoy myself, ultimately, I enjoy playing videogames with my sister but without her I can't
Get information about the world we live in.
Assume the status quo will be maintained for the bext 30 years or that it will all collapse into shit.
I mean you can assume it will be better but thats also the end of the status quo.
If you understand these possibilities you can just enjoy vidya.
Play until you fill your barrel.
Do a year of no life online multiplayer game. Get it out of your system, get over it, and move on. Go full moron.
Always think about it >I have that under my belt >I know its ups and downs and its goods and evils
Don't half ass life.
Start by making sure you enjoy life to begin with instead of using video games as escapism.
???
How are games not a part of life?
Stop playing for a few days.
Go outside.
Listen to this guy but go outside in DEATH STRANDING by Hideo Kojima.
i was gonna say something like this. I find taking days off of vidya makes me enjoy them more when i do play them.
By actually playing them and not just posting about them in an online imageboard forum.
You can't. They're made for braindead zoomers. Go away while you still can.

You're not a child anymore, go read a book or partake into a more mature hobby.
Stop jerking off and after about a week or two you'll slowly start to enjoy video games again.
Drop video games and sacrifice yourself for political agenda which you unbreakably believe in.
Become an alcoholic
