Galleys early game for inland seas. Later just pump money into big ships and keep a lighter fleet to intercept fast fleets so your big ships can catch them.

      Wrong

      Also wrong

      Guess what: also wrong

This shit has been solved over a decade ago, stop posting moronic larp ideas. Even the "official" wikia has this covered, so get fricked.

I see you have moved onto EU3 since HOI3. Good move.
Only build transports. Cogs, flytes, merchantmen and east-indiamen. These are cheap and fast and in sufficient numbers will overcome any enemy fleet.

        Good post. But entirely wrong.

Galleys are amazing at the start of the game and the first years in inland seas because of all the bonuses they get their combat speed and their cost. The only other option you have a cogs and carracks.

Even in early game and 1399 start, you are better off building heavy and transport ships than waste time and money on galleys. There is no actual bonus to them, it was removed after EU2 (where they indeed had a bonus till naval tech 7 and became completely obsolete by nav tech 17 except anti-piracy perma-fleet in the Caribbeans). For comparison, in EU3, there is zero benefit from building galleys, since they don't auto-upgrade and thus you are better off always building heavy ships instead for their survivability in combat (and utter brokeness in DW)

          >Nta and out of curiosity I've checked 3 biggest torrenting sites. All have working and functiona torrents for HTTT. So either you didn't check, or are super-moronic
          Why do you lie?

Meanwhile found another 2 sources, while you are still waiting to be spoon-fed.

Why do you wait for others to do work for you? If you can't find a torrent or direct files for a popular title released in the past decade, it just means you are incompetent, rather than the game being hard to find.
The only elusive game by PDX is EU2:Asian Chapters, since it was market-specific and pretty hard to get in the first place, then made further difficult due to language barriers and lack of people posting it online - whatever easy sources were floating around, they've died out before EU3 was even released.

            >homosexuals trying to tell me to find it
            >they never even played the game themselves
Listen you fricking morons if you had even take 3 minutes to look for it you would be just as stumped as I am. You would have to download EU3 complete which is just in nomine and the dlc before, then you download HTTT standalone and patch it and then download 4.1b patch. The problem is finding HTTT as a standalone download, the easiest way to actually play HTTT is to just install on steam and uncheck divine wind but I don't want to install steam.

Only ever build galleys. Nothing else. Galleys have a number of advantages over all other ships. They have oars. With so many oars they can easily swat away cannon balls. Then close the distance and give the enemy ships a jolly good thrashing. With their oars. Yes. Imagine hundreds of oars slapping down hard upon your buttocks. That what it is like. Absolutely vicious. Don't mess with a galley.

Galleys will fall apart late game to a proper fleet of light/big ships once you are sufficiently teched up. I liked 40 ship fleets with 15 light and 25 big ships, but it's been a minute since I played.

      wrong

Only if you fail to upgrade your galley techs. Once your galleys have tier III oars they can out paddle triple deckers. The increased speed and maneuverability means they can close to boarding distance before the triple deckers can get a broadside off.

What the frick are you talking about? None of this is in EU3.

That's wrong advice moron. Upgrading your paddles means shit once the War Galleons have received shielded powder kegs. That enables them to open fire on you in even the foulest weather.

          Anonymous

Stop smoking crack you dumbass. Shielded powder kegs can not protect against the awesome long range splashing power of fully upgraded paddles.

            Anonymous

Nta but you can tech up "Waterproof Galleon Doctrine" and your war galleons will withstand any amount of splashing.

Being reminded of this game makes me remember just how shit EU4 has become. The game was like pretty good before they started adding the fricking bloat to milk cash (around the time they added estates?). Like I just wanted EU3 without cascading alliances, PUs nerfed, better colonization, and no fricking ping pong warfare and yeah that was fixed. But the bloated shit spill of game is too too much, the greedy little shits.

      >Like I just wanted EU3 without cascading alliances, PUs nerfed
... then just play HTTT? DW was a mistake in pretty much every single step and the fact you now have to pirate HTTT to play it at all convinced me that it's a deliberate decision to keep EU3 in it's moronic form to keep people buying into EU4.

Except galleys are shit-tier in EU3, regardless of tech level, so not sure who has masturbatory fantasies here.
If you want to have useful galleys, go play EU1 and 2.
