I want try to beat rabi ribi on hard mode. I'm very bad at video games so I'm hoping to take whatever route makes the boss fights easiest. Should I pick standard or alternative? Should I gather all the town members before facing miru+noah or should I do that fight asap? If standard mode is preferred, should I avoid picking up certain items?
Alternative is easier if you go out of your way to sequence break and collect items. Otherwise standard. Pick up every item.

Hm, been getting some weird 'controller disconnect' prompt messages whenever I enter Groamwood from the 2nd town; it's related to these mushroom enemies being on screen hopping around. The first 3~ times the message appears, I can confirm with x to continue playing, but eventually, I'll get a message with no prompt, and pushing a button just takes me to Tevi's Steam page. Doesn't seem like anyone has the same issue aside from one player saying they get it when they're fighting a specific boss.

Because the game incorporate both angels (Christian/No colors) + Valhalla(Nordic) theme, then you enter Valhalla and literally everyone is black, if you want to represent the concept of purity, black/brown is not a good color choice, this is why the demon town in this game is still black/red/purple, including the people in it.

I have over 500 hours in both games, and did both games respective hardest challenges (BEX DLC SP bosses, pantheons with bindings, etc) Rabi Ribi has better combat, music, and girls than Hollow Knight, but that's about it. Both are fantastic games and I highly recommend both to everyone I know who is a fan of the genre, but Hollow Knight is still superior in most aspects. Granted, I'm still only the first 10% of TEVI, but so far this feels inferior than both Rabi Ribi and Hollow Knight. It might get better later though

Pirated it and got through the intro. Playing on hard but might bump it up because everyone is saying its easier than rabiribi. So far it plays like a slightly more polished rabiribi which is exactly what I wanted. Characters are kind of meh both in design (especially the m*le characters) and writing but its not a big a deal as people are making it out to be, the story never mattered in these games anyways. Plus the voice acting is good.

Boss were kinda meh so far but Lily, the Lion and Anubis bawds were easily Rabi Ribi tier. So far it has some great boss fights and a few stinkers but they are mostly tutorial boss anyways.
Game is good, i prefered the map philosophy behind Rabi Ribi but this still manages to feel pretty open. Probably won't be as fun to replay though.
Overall it'a fulfilling it's contract for now. Just wish the first few bosses had more going for them, he went soft.

There's backtracking to get stuff and you can jump off enemies to reach some areas early but there's no real sequence breaking (no hidden tech like reverse wall jumps either)

For some reason I'm having a hard time intuiting where Tevi's hitbox is. I know it shows during boss fights, I even have the option enabled to have it on at all times, but I'm rarely every looking at it because I'm focused on the projectiles and I keep thinking it's higher than it actually is so I get hit a lot. Was the exact location of it changed between Rabi Ribi and this, because it feels like it
In Rabi-Ribi the hitbox was in breasts which makes perfect sense because that's where your sight will be focused on.

The heal items force you to hold still to use them; I always find in games like this and Hollow Knight that trying to heal yourself mid-battle just makes things harder. Best to play as if you have no healing so you don't fall into the trap of trying to heal while the boss is still doing its various patterns.

Nah, expert is really tough, at least from my experience. Every boss so far has been 10+ attempts for me. They just have so much health, even when I try to optimize my combos and means of attacks, and their attacks seem way harder to dodge for me early game Rabi Ribi bosses did. I don't understand anyone who is claiming that expert mode is easy unless they've played the shit out of BEX in Rabi Ribi. As far as first playthroughs are concerned, my first run of Rabi Ribi on the hardest available difficulty (Which was Hard mode) during its first few hours were significantly easier than my first few hours with this game. It's not a complaint though, I enjoy bosses being huge pains, and I'm hoping there are bosses later that will take me double digit hours to beat, it's just an observation.

Movement upgrades all seem to be unmissable. They just come pretty slowly.
I like the combat voices the most, but they're only a tiny amount of the total dialogue and they could have just gotten nobodies to do them anyway.

I beat like a little over a quarter of the bosses in Rabi Ribi. But that save file is almost 3 years old already and I don't really remember what I was doing or anything about the game.

For what it's worth I really loved Rabi Ribi. My playthrough ending up paused for so long had nothing to do with the game. But now I am itching to try Tevi, instead of replaying the quarter of Rabi Ribi that I've already played.

How do I get into Ana Thema’s palace? I did the other markers and have the decay antidote but the guard won’t let me pass.
In the demo you had to go a different route to get into the castle where the demo ended, try exploring the place more.

When i check global achievements from the store page it shows only 0.1% have finished so far but when i check achievements from my library it says 6.0%.

I've defeated around 7 or so bosses so far and Lily is still the hardest one I've fought, also playing on Expert. Reminds me of how out of place Cicini was in Rabi Ribi in terms of difficulty. She felt like she belonged way later in the game with how tough she was relative to all the other bosses around her
I never had too much trouble with Cicini but I think it was Red Kotri that caught me off guard due to running past the volcano so many times without running into her and without the immunity to burn.
She still remains one of the hardest fight by the end of chapter 3. Difficulty increase of the game feels very off. I'd say only 2 are on par with her.

At least so far gameplay is better than Rabi outside of the boss fights which is unfortunate. Rabi just hard more interesting attack patterns. Maybe Tevi will pick up later though.
You're probably comparing late-game Rabi-Ribi bosses to early Tevi bosses. Tevi bosses so far have actually been far more involved compared to their counterparts in Rabi-Ribi.
So far my only complaint is that the orbiter character designs are kind of shite and Ribbon was better, small details like Ribbon's shocked face when Erina got knocked out etc.
music is very, very far from even. when you do the rabi ribi minigame in tartarus and it starts banging out an 8 bit version of the rabi boss theme you realize the tevi boss theme isn't even close.

Not even close. Easily the worst part about Tevi.
Tevi has some good songs here and there but the overall soundtrack is weaker. The boss themes so far have been especially weak, and I feel Rabi's music had a more distinct sound compared to Tevi's.
The young mermaid is better looking than most Rabi Ribi characters. I wish she wasn't the exception when it comes to the designs.

It is. Go check Tevi's bed. you might have accidentally switched difficulty the one time it forces you to sleep in bed if you are certain you started on hard.
I started on hard for sure. The game asked me if I wanted to change at some point, but I did not. And my save file still say hard as well. Might be bugged, which would excplain why it's so easy.
Check your Notebook and see which difficulty was the game on against last boss you beat. Check the 1st boss too, as he should be on hard.

I miss the talismans, i liked the dual use of them, either to extend damage windows or for defensive purpose. Was much better than the occasional backflip or the shields to me.

well, i still didn't find what i am missing in ana thema but i learned that for the blocks that give you money it actually counts each individual block even though they all explode together and only have one symbol on the map. so i might only be missing 1 chain of 6 blocks in that city.

its the longest/most involved boss at that point in the game. it's longer than several bosses that come after it. it took me more attempts than most but it shouldn't take you hours.

I think it's more that Tevi is all over the place. Bottom areas of the world run the whole gamut from sounding like something from Hacknet to Binding of Isaac. It's all relatively high quality but a lot doesn't fit the mood.
