I have an Xbox One X for playing a few games upscaled to 4k. Red Dead Redemption, FFXIII, FFXIII-2, Lightning Returns, Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas. I also have Dark Souls PTDE and GTAIV Complete but they aren’t upscaled. Recently bought a Lightning PS3 for CFW reasons and playing the old Persona games.

The 360 was worth getting.
I didn't convert to Sony until this year. I had Nintendo consoles until 7th gen, when I got a 360 as well as a Wii. It was cheaper than PS3, the games ran better, no brainer. The Xbox One was shit, and I got a PS4 Pro late into 8th gen. Only PS5 this time. Sony is king just took me awhile to get here.

Don mattick killed xbox completely. His inept moronic approach to appealing to the masses instead of maintaining a core audience did it. Sony on the other hand only had to say "we're not xbox" and won the most important gaming gen since it knocked microsoft so hard out of the console race it wasn't even funny. The onus on them isn't to make games, and it never has been. Western third parties are creating derivative trash and Japanese third parties have dried up because the Japanese gaming economy has shifted almost entirely to mobile
Sony have been active in directing what games are made and the playing field on which devs work. Jim Ryan famously made huge numbers of dev teams work on "live service" titles which has sunk plenty of time and money into games that will never go anywhere. Like a blackhole. He's left too and gotten a great pay off. The reality is that Sony isn't even japanese anymore and the people in charge of it are morons. As were the people in charge of xbox. Who cares if the xbox leadership aren't moronic anymore, they are effectively out of the console race. Quite similar to what happened to Sega.
This is nothing like what happened to Sega, in fact this is the opposite. Sega ran out of money and had to go home because they couldn't play anymore. MS didn't buy act bliz to put their shit on Xbox. They bought them so every fricker who buys those games on ps and Nintendo is putting money in ms pocket. It is quite literally a case of "if you can't beat them, join them". They couldn't get people to buy Xbox to play these games, so they bought the Fricking games so it doesn't matter what platform people buy them on anymore lol
Sony have had an easy ride, they have been handed victory and even when they had their asses tanned they had a free pass because reasons.

N64 was a bit of a blurry mess but you can argue it could compete with ps1. Saturn just couldn't compete. Men against boys, Sega fricked up. There is no way either of those two were better than the ps1 man, let it go.
Gc wasn't very appealing, it was did look like a toy but come on, the PS2 looked terrible and the Xbox looked like a joke. The fact the Gc looked like it was for kids is what killed it, it was seriously uncool. The best looking fricker of that gen was the dreamcast

What's weird looking back is I really didn't have many Nintendo titles. I had REmake and 4, PN03, Killer 7, Eternal Darkness and stuff like that.

They're both equivalent budget PC alternatives, but one has a few exclusive games, or at least the promise of a few exclusive games, better controller, and a better brand. As I see it you either upgrade your PC or get a PS5, Xbox is redundant, with Game Pass being its sole reason for existence.
