It's a 3 hour game that's artificially stretched out to 12 hours for no reason. >go take pictures in this area >now go do it again but in a slightly different path >now do it again in the first path but at night >now do it again in the second path but at night >now do it again in a third path that's actually just part of the second path but with a single boss pokemon >now you get to unlock the second area >oh also after you beat the game you unlock like five more post-game areas
I'd much rather they have had it be you do an area once, you unlock the next. They could still have the multiple paths in each area, but forcing you to play them all (especially the underwater one where you needed to grind it over and over to get enough pictures to unlock the next path) just made an otherwise good game a slow chore.
They should have let you save one image per star ranking, not one image per Pokemon. The star ranking made going back and taking better pictures feel so tedious and arbitrary.
>It's a 3 hour game
lmao I have over 200h in mine, I spemnd like 70h on main story, figuring out the tricks and special animations and playing in editor added 100h easily
I found it to be a lot of fun but not worth the price. Emulating it or getting it used is your best bet.
Very pretty, comfy, and makes the Pokémon fee alive. If you like taking pictures the mechanics are a lot of fun. If you don’t then maybe not the game for you.
>How is it
Good but way too fricking big for it's own good. I think I put 30 or so hours in and only made it through a handful of courses. Turning the original Snap formula up to 11 made it completely overwhelming. There's so many unique interactions, special routes, and the fricking research level meaning each course has a billion different forms. It's such an imposing wall that once I stopped to play something else for a while I never went back
I wanted to like it, but so much repetition early on to create artificial length. It would have been a short game, maybe not worth $60, but it would have been better to have been pace similarly to the the original game with how you progressed. One or two treks through an area before the next, maybe three if you didn't pick up on the puzzle clues to unlock the next area because you were so focused on taking good photos. I didn't even mind additions like the boss battles, but they were tacked on to create a longer game, more than meshed into the experience.
comfy game to curl up on the couch and take turns playing with the GF, I would have felt comfortable buying new islands if they were reasonably priced
not even the prettiest game on Switch or anything but brutally mogs the graphics in every single mainline Pokemon game on the same console which is funny as it has a lot more going on at the same time on screen too
It’s very repetitive and can get boring, but it looks pretty, and you can see a lot of interesting behavior and interactions involving the Pokemon. And there’s a good number of courses with multiple variations for each one, with different Pokemon and slightly different paths. So it was decently enjoyable.
Has its issues, but a good expansion of the Snap formula and easily the best Pokémon game on the Switch which is a very low bar. Certainly not worth its MSRP of $60, get it used for no more than $40.

While the game is much longer than 3 hours if you actually want to find all the content, anon I think youre just autistic and/or insane
Or he just actually enjoys the game. Spending that long in a game you love doing everything in isn't weird.
I heard you can't throw apples and shit at the pokemon to make them do different things or evolve, so it IS shit based solely on that.
Its a great game, just not worth 60 dollars
Pokemon dont evolve but there are tons of unique interactions to find. Its honestly pretty kino and captures the spirit of the original extremely well

It’s cute. I think I managed to get 20 hours out of it but that’s probably more than most people.
>20 hours
>more than most
Such a waste of money
Best game from the franchise in many years.
it's really great
they even released a free DLC with lots of additional content despite not needing it at all
truly a love letter to the original game

Bravo Ariga

It's a jobber shitmon
Go shove that shit screenshot up your ass.
OG game was very chill yet entertaining. I wonder if this one kept that atmosphere.

You know very damn well Game Freak hates this game.
that's why I make them play it, I want them to suffer for what they did to Feraligatr

Best pokemon game on the switch.
If you have collection autism this game will easily last you a hundred hours. If you don't the game is like 6 hours.
