Gay as frick, and the best party member in the damn game. Leave it to Japan to do what a bunch of shmucks with Communications and Sociology degrees in Cali can't.
He doesn't act that way to piss off his dad, he doesn't want to piss off his dad, he just wants to be himself. I don't know if he is gay or straight but his flaming clown personality is genuine.
What's funny is he's gay and the story has him address it with his father, but what's also funny is he's a knight and he's probably the strongest knight in the kingdom. In one cutscene when he's introduced he takes out a monster effortlessly by himself while the rest of the knights couldn't do jack shit.
He's just super confident and sassy as well, like OP said, almost any cutscene he's in is great.
His best quality is leading first in action or conversation to let the other person shine. He's the ultimate wingman throwing you easy layups all day long while never asking for anything in return.
Anon-kun, Japan has always made cool gays. Self-aware and never preachy. Remember Flea from Chrono Trigger? Or the suikoden characters like Milich and Vincent?
And not to mention even off-screen his power level is undeniable. He was even the strongest knight, I think he was the only other one to beat his father in a duel
He's really fricking annoying and hurt my enthusiam to play the game. Is this who he is the entire rest of the game? Does the obnoxious fake personality ever drop? Does he become a real character at some point, or what? I have no idea what you all see in this literal clown.
He's your best healer for most of the game and he synergizes with erik insanely good early game.
He carries most playthroughs on draconian difficulty until late game.
Too bad he sucks during the end game, since the end game revolves around Erik making everything in his path his b***h.
But early/mid game he's a beast, while also making every cutscene better by being there.
He's just brilliant commentary, the gayness being the fulcrum is just a byproduct of the times.
What he really was was the living embodiment of chivalry, just through his own lens, while his father was the traditional role of a chivalrous knight.
Was he actually gay? Don't know, probably. It doesn't matter in the end. There feels like there's a group on Ganker that rages at people liking the trope laden gay guy and trying to insist he wasn't gay instead of leaving it ambiguous. It feels insecure.
I liked his serious moments. He's the oldest one in the group for a while and has to drop the facade to remind everyone how cool they are saving the world when they get the animu doubts.
He was the most entertaining character by far but I always felt he was pretty useless when compared to the rest of the party, which was a shame.
Hero, Erik, Rab and either twin was too strong. Especially Erik.
Pepped up hero/Erik/Serena made everything a joke cos of Wild Side.
ultra gay and flamboyant, always focus on supporting and bringing up other characters before himself, perfect blend of feminine and chivalrous
Sylvia-chan is an extremely based character, there's no denying it
He just gave some fricking nerd dragon a bit glob of horseshit. What a beast.
is he gay
Gay as frick, and the best party member in the damn game. Leave it to Japan to do what a bunch of shmucks with Communications and Sociology degrees in Cali can't.
>make a character fun and entertaining
Thats how
Being gay is not a character trait
He named his horse Margarita.
Mega gay but still as based as it gets. He was unironically off going to save the world himself before meeting up with your character.
He only acts gay because he knows it pisses off his dad. He's actually straight.
He doesn't act that way to piss off his dad, he doesn't want to piss off his dad, he just wants to be himself. I don't know if he is gay or straight but his flaming clown personality is genuine.
As gay as the day is long. He could have been the MC though, he was awesome.
he needs his own spin off game
yes
>young sylvando (and malroth from DQB2) mystery dungeon
yes, please
He turned a bunch of normal men into flaming homosexuals
He tries doing the same to the MC but the power of being the Hero prevents the curse.

He stopped giving a frick
Don't forget he is also a top tier party member from when you get him all the way to the end.
He's really fricking annoying and hurt my enthusiam to play the game. Is this who he is the entire rest of the game? Does the obnoxious fake personality ever drop? Does he become a real character at some point, or what? I have no idea what you all see in this literal clown.
His personality isn't fake, he wants to spread joy in the world. He does have serious moments.
Don't use him, this homosexual is the only thing dumping the game's quality down, he isn't good either.
He's your best healer for most of the game and he synergizes with erik insanely good early game.
He carries most playthroughs on draconian difficulty until late game.
Because he's strong and confident while flaming and doesn't give a frick.
>Person is gay, but not a homosexual
Why don't gays like this exist anymore?
You can be flamboyant without being gay. Being gay just means the person loves buttholes, which is not something you should care about someone.
I utterly despised him at the start but damn, by the end he was truly best boy
His hax homohealing dance is what carried me on hardest difficulty
I liked him from the outset but by endgame when you're wrapping up his sidequest with 8's he becomes the best boy.
punished 8 is the best cha in the game, but arc 3 8 is just pointless
Too bad he sucks during the end game, since the end game revolves around Erik making everything in his path his b***h.
But early/mid game he's a beast, while also making every cutscene better by being there.

He has a great character to go with his flamboyance.
No man could say genuinely say the things he does and still want someone else's shit on his penis
I liked his serious moments. He's the oldest one in the group for a while and has to drop the facade to remind everyone how cool they are saving the world when they get the animu doubts.
gay
Tell me. Have any of Ganker 100% both versions of DQXI?
Im 25 hours in and can't be bothered to play it anymore. Why the frick are jrpgs so long
I am tempted to get the definitive version but frick them for releasing both. It's legitimately a masterpiece though
He was the most entertaining character by far but I always felt he was pretty useless when compared to the rest of the party, which was a shame.
Hero, Erik, Rab and either twin was too strong. Especially Erik.
Pepped up hero/Erik/Serena made everything a joke cos of Wild Side.
Serena being your best DPS for the 1st third of the game still baffles me to this day.
He's the only character that gets a proper story. Having a barely any character development is not some classic feature these games should cling to.
Yeah
ultra gay and flamboyant, always focus on supporting and bringing up other characters before himself, perfect blend of feminine and chivalrous
Sylvia-chan is an extremely based character, there's no denying it
