Gitting gud doesn't suddenly make the bosses with their 50 hit combos that never let up suddenly have opening to land more than the very rare light attack that does no damage.
parry/block+counter/dodge/create distance and use range.
holyshit literally just stop crying and git gud, I miss the days when souls were a niche series and not flooded with casuals
you lietrally can't parry or block or creating space against Radahn, all you can do is rollslopping and then get 1 light attack in when his 12 combos stops. but ONLY is his AI doesn't decide to cancel his combo into another attack that takes 70% of your health.
You literally can parry Radahn. You can also use the Deflecting Hardtear to perfectly block all of his attacks, which follow a constant and clear rhythm.
I beat him purely on blocking. The only move you cannot block (if you do you'll effectively die) is the gravity magic bs in both phases. And the femboy asmr grabs. Everything else can be 95%-100% damage mitigated. Mind you, you'll only get a few hits per autism sperging on his attacks, but you can do it...
Poison Antspur Rapier with a +10 giga great shield
Pearl Shield Talisman, Greatshield Talisman, lol2neck turtle talisman, Golden Braid
Casually block and poke Twin Princes to death >Fake Prime Radahn is just as vulnerable to getting ROT'd as real Radahn
lol
Use a shield, moron.
Use summons, ash and npc for their quests.
Get skibiditree fragments.
Use whatever mechanics the game gives you.
Or do you need to wait for some youtube homosexual to spell them for you, and then what, you'll come here boasting about how you figured it all for yourself and call everyone else a shitter?
NTA but I'm someone who loves to fully engage with all the mechanics in the game but like other anons are saying, the last boss is phenomenally bad, even using every exploit I've got without going full cheese boring mode.
He's a hard fight, not unfair. The elden ring bosses are designed to be used with the ashes. The mechanic can be easily avoided in the base game because the bosses are push overs which is why they're so spastic in the dlc. Ever notice how you only get a second to do something in a battle? Enough time to summon an ash and dodge. You no longer have the time to set up israelite magic cheese bs and kill then from the door etc lol
ARE YOU REALLY SO SLOW YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO POSITION AROUND ATTACKS SO YOU CAN ATTACK? >this dude must suck a lot of ass. >this dude must not pay attention and learn the etiquette's of the games combat. >this poster is a fricking moron that needs a game to literally hold his hand so he knows when to do something.
>ARE YOU REALLY SO SLOW YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO POSITION AROUND ATTACKS SO YOU CAN ATTACK?
did you somehow forget that bosses swivel around and perfectly track you or something?
If only they had another target to focus on for a hit or two... Hmmm I wonder why we collect sacred ashes... Hmm... I wonder if.... No that's silly they can't expect you to utilize a system they built the bosses around... That'd be... Wow
Except that makes the game not just easy, but extremely boring and uninteractive... Might as well just summon a real player and let them solo a boss for you at that point.
But, yeah, the game is balanced with that in mind, and it's for the worse, because they basically made the solo experience too punishing and summon experience too easy
in the same time it takes to do one heavy weapon light attack you can do 3 light attacks and a heavy attack with a katana that does triple the damage. who designed this shit?
How long until they release a patch that makes all the bosses less aggressive?
remember when fromdrones were coping that this shit was made by a modder? imagine this, diehard fromsoft fans calling work from the developers themselves that it looked modded KEK
I'm the best cheese lord that ever existed, I will cheat my way to victory, but only after this shit goes on sale as I refuse to pay full price but also refuse to pirate
>Look at the balance different in review copy bosses and the current patch bosses.
Remember when Miyazaki said that game has no difficulty options so every player would be on same level of discussion with others?
I remember.
How are the bosses worse than the base game? I played ER but never got very far because the gameplay wasn't very fun (quit after beating the Crucible Knight). How do you manage to enjoy the base game enough to finish it and buy the DLC but now the bosses are too much? I genuinely do not understand; I'm legitimately curious.
Magic/cheese builds, seamless co-op, mimic tears etc.
A large number of people playing the DLC probably abused every means of not interacting with the content and just gliding past everything
Can they not continue to use the mechanics and strategies from the base game? If the DLC limits you to specific strats it kinda undermines the whole RPG and build elements of the game, does it not? I can't imagine it being a fun experience if you need to completely re-tool your build for ever second boss.
The DLC stealth depowers you and you have to collect items to repower yourself up. All of the mechanics work the same but you don't hit as hard and you take more damage.
It's basically like returning to lvl one in regards to damage given and received.

>The DLC bosses are just nonstop rolling from their never ending combo chains.
But that was exactly my experience with the base game, and the reason I quit. Using the Crucible Knight as an example: it does a lot of attacking with few chances to hit it (parry is a thing but shieds were not part of my build or strategy so it's a moot point). Once the second phase starts you no longer have those safe windows from phase one because it could always go into a tail attack, which meant that I was never safe to attack it (outside of waiting for the tail attack and jump attacking) so you end up having to trade with hits with the boss. I guess if that's turned up to 11 it'd be more noticeable for people. I also seen that in a bunch of the DLC fights that the camera is half the battle, which is unacceptable.
Because it's a DLC revolving around how you dont need to dodge roll everything but a lot of people have built up a weird sense of pride and self-worth tied to using as few mechanics as possible in these games
>pride and self-worth
I doubt most people think that. For me it's simply what I find most find, and from my experience playing through these games with a buddy the challenge is completely gone if you frick with boss targeting. I think using spirit ashes or whatever they are called will do the same exact thing and make the game not fun to play.
I also don't use shields but that's simply a matter of style / larping
It's more like they feel they need to up the ante with each game. They assume their hardcore fans would be pissed if they released games as hard as DS1 over and over.
>How are the bosses worse than the base game? I played ER but never got very far because the gameplay wasn't very fun
then how the frick would you know, Black person? get the frick out of here
miyazaki really disrespects people who play his games, a movie really has to justify its length to its audience, whereas miyazaki will make a boss that will take you 4 hours to beat and act like thats normal, and the whole dlc is full of bosses like that.
I do agree with what you're saying on a personal level but is that really the case? Reading these threads highlights just how masochistic some people are, that they want to struggle for hours on end on "difficult" fights. He is clearly catering to a pretty sizable audience. Said audience is utterly insufferable, however.
If they do I'm downpatching immediately and becoming a YouTube essay homosexual. This trend has got to stop. Don't fricking cry for nerfs on fights you have barely even bothered to experience. It's not "git gud" it's persevere and learn. This shit is only going to get worse with every release as the stock of children degrades in quality year over year. These homosexual kids are not held to any minimum standards of expectations anymore and they immediately cry for accomodation for their indolence because they have been conditioned to expect that failure is rewarded. Yes, social media and screen addiction has done a number on us, but you can't undo millions of years of evolution in less than 100 years of peculiar socialization. The kids still have the same hardware even if the software is gay. This is an issue started by mentors and guardians, I'm not bashing humans with little to none developed agency. We are failing them by not letting them suffer consequences and holding them to bare minimum standards of displays of competency. My autistic sperge out about reactionary outcry patterns will be my brick in the wall contribution to rectifying this legitimately serious societal crisis.
Persevere and learn? Bro, only like 10% of the players will even reach some of the newer bosses like messmer on Renlla. Hell, only 25% beat mohg. It's not gonna be the end of the world if more people can play with your toy. Christ, you're obnoxious.
You're a child with rage issues. Get over yourself.

We're both pathetic. It's not a contest. I really need to quit playing video games. I told myself I'm only buying eleven tree and persona 3R this year, and so far I've held true. Take some cringe advice, find cooler more rewarding hobbies. It makes you feel way better in the long run. Also, spend as little time as possible arguing on the internet.
a week or two, they need to swim to the otherside of the money pool a few times before they fix the game
bosses won't be less aggressive, they'll just tune the hp down by like 50% and it'll still take 5 minutes to kill one unless RNG gives you the "good" attacks
time to go back to the roots >no more boss fights >game is purely gauntlet dungeons >quests take place in the gauntlets, pretty straight forward >puzzles >enemies adapt better >enemies patrol more >enemies change positioning with progression >levels change with progression >seamless co-op with invasions >final boss is a fight with storm ruler
I pray every day for fromsoft to drop the cringe boss rush simulators and make adventure games again. A kings field with modern day techhnology would be GOTD
>boss rush simulators
They don't even add option to replay boss battles, despite making focus on boss battles
And they added that feature in Sekiro(and it was fun because Sekiro is fun)
Sekiro does commit to their formula by being designed around good and fun combat and bosses. Don't understand why they went back on all the good choices they made on it like the posture/parry system or the gapcloser hook. Rolling simply sucks if they want to overdesign encounters
So you want a non souls game, gotcha.
It has been 15 years and quests still progress or brick on random key bosses and quest people teleport around without notice or logic.
Fromsoft isn't capable of creating that game you want.
Kino. You get the Moonlight Greatsword at the end and fight the Stormruler clone with waves of moonlight, while cutting down any trash he summons with 2 swings and sidestepping his ranged attacks.
Honestly they should treat the dungeons much nicer because shadow keep is pretty great and there's a few other great dungeons. They could easily trim so much of the open world and still have it feel just as vast but probably with more detail and less empty nonsense.
Next week. it also happened with the main game. The Elden Ring you play today is not the same as it released, they nerfed the frick out of everything, thanks to braindead amerishart crybabies
what has that to do with difficulty? fixing shit is good but stop nerfing the fricking game down with each new patch. Soulsborne going mainstream was a mistake
>Soulsborne going mainstream was a mistake
with dark souls 1? Franchise went downhill after it for entirely different reasons that you think fromslopper
Try out Dark Souls 1. Invest in a shield if you play as a melee. Blocking and parrying feel amazing in that game. It's so much different than nu Fromsoft games.
I had a harder time beating Messmer than I ever did Malenia. Legitimately, if this is the design philosophy for bosses(and a lot of regular enemies), then I'm probably just done with the series. I didn't much care for Elden Ring in the first place, but the DLC solidified my stance on this. The combat system hasn't changed much from Demon's Souls, but the enemies are too much for it to handle at this point. The game just isn't particularly fun anymore.
You haven't been playing from DeS to write a moronic take like this. The DLCs are alwayd significantly increased difficulty over the base game. This is a consistent pattern 6 times proven now with no datapoints otherwise. Respectfully, what the frick were you expecting? Treat fromsoft releases like mon hun I guess and just by the base version and not the g rank expansion if you're such a shitter.
You're a moronic homosexual. You didn't address what I said. The series has been going down a path of more and more aggressive enemies, but the combat system has not progressed much to adapt. It's still largely the same system it's been since Demon's Souls. Why can somebody like Messmer get a huge selection of spear attacks like repeated thrusts, sweeping cuts, rising thrusts from a low stance, distance closing leaps into a quick thrust, delayed dragging thrusts, and the like, only in his first form, but when I use a spear I get a regular thrust that I can repeat three times that has a cooldown or a charged thrust. Even Demon's Souls had more move variation with spears because a step back attack was an overhead attack and the roll attack was a rising swing. The combat is still the same shit it's been for 15 years now and the game has failed to adapt much.
Bloodborne manages to make the fight much more engage and proactive and they stopped using those mechanics for so reason. I really don't understand it at this point.
because the series is now pandering towards people who don't want enjoyable gameplay, but just want an excuse to spam "git gut" all day long. started with DS1, where morons kept getting fricked by mimics and obvious traps, so it got the super-hard label, which attracted exactly that crowd.
it's never going to stray from that formula again, because it's its core audience
yeah, most normalgays didn't pick up dark souls because they were genuinely interested in the game. They picked it up because they want bragging rights or gamer cred. Look at the people who refuse to call elden ring hard. They could die to a boss 50+ times and they'll still insist the game is easy because they've got their entire pride on the line. They only care about how the game makes them look, which is a rather womanly way to act.

I remember having more trouble with some DS1 areas than with 80% of the bosses in the game. Genuinely got more satisfaction from finding the next bonfire than beating some of the bosses.
There has not been a souls game ever since that made me feel the same way, it's all about the bosses now. Problem being that fighting the bosses in ER is not as satisfying as it was on BB, for instance.

You're probably right. And DS3 was all FROM afaik.
>if this is the design philosophy for bosses(and a lot of regular enemies), then I'm probably just done with the series.
I feel the same way. I think it's getting a bit too ridiculous for me.
No. There's that new blessing thing that can heavily buff your damage and def in DLC areas. Most people think they are too cool for it or just ignored it, and then when boss takes silvers of damage and oneshots them with most attacks they do a surprised pikachu face and run crying to complain about how the game is bullshit.
Man I hate beating Wickermens legs and jumping over their fire attacks. Who thought this was fun design. Also frick Dragons, atleast Bayle was fun fight.
I love how one of the wickermen is fought on some shit camp so half the time you jump you get clipped into a wall or carp and the horse dies, riveting gameplay
The ancient dragon before Bayle, was a harder fight than Bayle. But the quality of it was just shit cause it was the existing dragons but way more tanky.
What are you even supposed to do against the ones with armored legs?
You can throw fire pots into the furnace for damage but i can't hold nearly enough at one time to actually kill them.
at best i see them dropped HP values for a few or increasing the effect amount of the scadutree buff
i've not had a chance to make it past messmer yet but the only thing that's been 'hard' after getting all of the buff shards available has been the frickin' camera for the divine beast. the lock on point for that fricker needs changed.
did i buy a different game from you idiots? cause in my version the bosses give you a ton of time to heal and buff mid-fight and the attacks all have big telegraphs and the fights in general are no harder than maybe friede or elden beast. great fights too, really cool moves, nice spectacle very epic. enjoying the dlc immensely. i'm also exploring and finding the tree root buffs or whatever like a smart guy. try not being shit
Wasnt even aware that people were pissed with the dlc. My critique only is the open world its just padding and the repeated bosses. The rest was all right, someone said that Melenia would get new dialogues but she just torched herself as usual. Guess I will just make another age of stars and be done with it
I personally just use mimic and we both spam waterfowl on bosses, beating them first try, they can be as aggressive as they want. If bosses have 10 hit combos I shall use mine too simple as
In Demon's and Dark you dodged like 1 attack and then dumped your entire stamina bar into attacking, and then probably died because you didn't save stamina to dodge or block the next attack. And now in Elden Ring you dodge like 10 things and get to do a single R1 or maybe even a jumping R2.
>And now in Elden Ring you dodge like 10 things and get to do a single R1 or maybe even a jumping R2.
This. There's no dopamine hit payoff from actually dodging these anime combo's successfully, just the constant stress of dodging repeatedly. It just isn't fun.
Messmer had absolutely nothing on the last boss of the DLC. It's an actual joke how fricked he is. I can't believe no one is talking about it and are focusing on Messmer who isn't even that bad.
Phase 1 is manageable but phase 2 is just an absolute embarrassment. I can't see a god damn thing during most of his moves and most of the miniscule time I get between moves is used to heal the ass frickery from all the AOE shit he's spewing out. I have a high fricking tolerance for this shit but I just don't know if I'm willing to grind this out...
Phase 2 definitely crosses the line into just putting the prepare to die meme into the game. I didn't enjoy beating him at all, if anything it makes me worried that From is gonna do more fricked up shit for the sake of it being fricked up in future games.
I think back to Sekiro and how much I loved Isshin. He kicked my fricking ass but I never felt like it was unfair, just that I needed to play better. This feels like they're taking the piss and basically seeing what kind of tolerance we have for bullshit. I've audibly laughed at some of the ways this homosexual has killed me in under a nanosecond. I can't even tell what this Black person is even doing because I have piss yellow all over my fricking screen while it runs at 15 fps.

Funny you bring up Sekiro cuz I think the fight makes much more sense in that game than it does Elden Ring. I can see his quick flash moves being really fun if you had quick perfect parries to counter them.
>I can't believe no one is talking about it
I'm waiting for everyone to catch up but yeah, it's the worst boss From has ever made.
That's the funniest thing about these threads for me. People are posting themselves killing messmer and going "ay yo this DLC is easy as frick bro, git gud!". Within a week they will be seething lmao. Messmer is like 5% of the final boss in terms of 'difficulty'
[...]

Its not THAT bad. I will say adding random catch light beams to every combo you were already learning phase 1 is annoying as frick. I beat him but literally have zero clue how you dodge the afterimage attack spam combos he does. I always get hit, and I just hope I dodge the beam spam to get a heal off.
it's genuinely cancerous trying to fight that shit, it wasn't even a "yeah I finally got it down and beat him" when I won it was just utterly fricking exhausting
I'm so tired of the constant anime dash flip trip bullshit and screen-covering nukes (which drops your FPS btw), and that's not even getting into the fact that it's just Radahn AGAIN as the final boss of the entire game
did this with the antusr spur with some occult bleed shit on it so i could poke attack while shielding, rot + bleed + insane holy res. phase 2.5 is watching radahn succumb to rot while he goes full moron spaz
Based. I shield poked with a bleed weapon for messmer and every boss after him. If the game is going to throw cheap bullshit at me im going to do it too.
you used 1 of the most OP weapons in the game. and that's the point; of course you can go 2-handed cold/blood star fists and melt bosses, but why give the player so many shit to make unique builds, when only a handfull can stand up to the autistic 10 hit combo bosses?
just pick better weapons then
if you suck wiener, just pick better weapons
It's really that easy
If you can't beat him without them then you're one of the ones who need it
simple as
Why doesn’t FromSoft doesn’t give a flying frick about mechanic-to-lore considerations?
The Rellana fight is actual dog shit once you read Ymir’s headpiece — apparently he is her superior/teacher but his actual boss fight (Ymir, Mother of Fingers) is just another Gideon.
I honestly don’t know what compelled the team to shit out another fricking moon spell either.
Just finished the DLC and bet every boss except the dragon fricker with no summons and a basic strength build without cheesing, aside from the final boss. The final boss is so fricking moronic I just used +10 mimic tear. Malenia's waterfowl dance is like literal joke compared to the entire fight. What in the FRICK were they thinking!?
shield + spear doesn't make anybody enjoy the game, but fighting the dogshit bosses certainly doesn't either. it's the lesser evil.
Beast Clergyman, for example is only really somewhat tolerable using shield + spear.
My problem with nu-Fromsoft bosses is that if you get hit once it’s basically over because it throws off your rhythm to dodge and if you back up to heal they input read that and hit you while you’re healing.
>give tiny damage windows >give the player tiny damage
ok >fans of the game tell you to "git gud" >when the answer is "go get bolt paper or whatever it is you need to do more damage" >still do tiny damage in those limited windows
I'm lvl 100 and the game is now annoying until seemless gets updated. I don't want to grind this weekend, when I have 100 other games in my backlog. Seemless simply made the game enjoyable to play. We all forgot that vanilla was trash. They didn't even get the networking right for years, so they are not competent enough to get health/damage balance either.
I even know the bird grind spot, but simply putting in 30 minutes to "make the game easier" is dumb imo, when I would rather just be able to mount in coop, not get disconnected, not have fog walls, and genuinely enjoy playing the DLC.
git gud at making games difficult without wasting people's time.
Easy fix: Players do more damage globally = bosses still do all the exact same moves and damage = players still challenged, but less of their limited irl human life is wasted = game is more fun.
I think a lot of 'git gud' people don't realize that the game could launch with the player doing more than 1% damage per strike with a +18 weapon on fire giant in their first playthrough. Anyone who thinks that is "good" game design, should ram their head into a wall. They are going for the "overcoming adversity" brain chemicals, but I guess those simply are not for me in a digital game. I never even liked mario as a kid, replaying the same level over and over when the ending would cheaply kill me, was never ever fun. Even as a stupid kid, that stuff was a turn-off. I played sports and MMO's and other shit instead of trial-and-error games.
>Vanilla ER was more fun.
wrong, but everything else is correct.
it's not overcoming adversity, when the only thing separating you from victory is boss rng, whether he allows you to heal, whether he pulls out instant "get off me" move, whether he jumps away last second, whether he breaks his recovery time.
the games were about dodging straightforward, instinctively understood attacks, and learning how to deal with the fight's gimmick. in Elden Ring, the game is about memorising every single trigger in a given boss fight, and playing around that. >oh, the boss finished their 8 hit combo and I managed to roll behind them, and they are in their recovery phase, but I can't cram in two quick attacks, because I'm standing on his left side, and he can use the instant frick off sword poke if he receives damage
>base game bosses were fricking dogshit except for the Margits and Godfrey Loux >DLC doubles down on it >cultists defend it not even for free but after paying $40
Wild stuff.
>Use +25 quality build nwordkaiba from base game >Apply bloodflame >Go in rellana's room >Ding ding tiche >Get my ass kicked >But what if... >Ding ding >Mimic tear >Nonstop bleed procs >Enemy defeated
Yeah I dunno I think the autists are just too used to the easy fights that you can bypass with rpg elements in the base game, it's Melania all over again
I just found out about the odachi (that's Japanese for great katana for you ignorant westerners) and yeah this thing slaps
>copium stocks full: never >reality: about the same time it took to "nerf" radahn
Likely they'll leave things as they are for probably a month, let the "hardcore" dickwaggers get through the DLC with their unemployed time then nerf it and buff some weapon/spells so everyone can reasonably get through it. Personally I just want them to tone down the input reading on enemies, I don't need a human invader backstepping literally everything I do and animation cancelling.
yeah but will it be fun? You can learn all the math you like, complete college courses and land a job in a field where you run equations all day long your entire life. But is it fun?
The bosses in elden ring are a chore. They are by far the worst part of an excellent game.
Not even that guy, but you should stop slurping some Miyazaki wiener from time to time. DS1 is my favortie PS3 game and I still admit most of the post-Ornstein content is mediocre at best.
Fromdrones will not acknowledge that as criticism and throw "git gud" at you. I have beaten Malenia countless times no hit and even solo'd her for hosts. It's still a shitty boss.
>Mesmer literally one shotting me with almost all attacks. >Golden Hippo also a pain in the ass. >Go explore for Scadutree Fragments. >Find St.Trina, and a ton of npc quests that would have dissapeared if I had beaten Mesmer.
Actually glad that happened.
>Summon Hornsent during Messmer the Impaler fight: He imparts his final message to Messmer and decides to pursue vengeance by eliminating the rest of Marika's offspring and ends his questline here. (It is still unknown where to find his body after this encounter) >If you DO NOT summon Hornsent during Messmer the Impaler fight: He will say "Where now should I point my tired blade." >After Messmer, Hornsent will invade you right before the boss of this late dlc area and drop all his equipment when defeated.
But then that wouldn't be hard enough, FROM is deathly afraid of the player finding anything easy, so they'd make bosses even more aggressive and combo-centric.
Well, I hope next game my character goes back to having DS1 estus drinking animations. Bosses should always have a guaranteed follow-up hit when your on the ground.
Actually, frick it, just remove the health bar altogether and turn these games into a one-hit kill for your character.
>Actually, frick it, just remove the health bar altogether and turn these games into a one-hit kill for your character.
May as well, we're halfway there already.
>Actually, frick it, just remove the health bar altogether and turn these games into a one-hit kill for your character.
May as well, we're halfway there already.
How long until they: >remove skat upgrades >fix the bosses >fix the trash mobs >fix the entire convoluted map >fix the copy paste caves and tombs >fix the lore >fix the frame drops
also, I didn’t see a single red summon sign and never got invaded throughout my playthrough. what’s going on there?
The bosses, their attacks, and hitboxes, are faster and larger. You also omitted the pillars in Maliketh's room, the graves and stairs in Mohg's, and the choke point and ruins in Malenia's. They each have different functional implications and moment to moment requirements. You have to be aware of them at all times. This is most distinct in Maliketh's room where the pillars are an integral part of the fight. For Mohg the graves serve as useful cover against his ranged attacks but he can destroy them easily with his close ranged attacks, they also impede your movement. Positioning in Elden Ring is more important than in Souls. That's just how it is.
I thought Asians were supposed to be autistically smart and thus good at math and videogames, how did this happen? or is the stereotype only true for the Japanese and the chinks hitchhiked on it?
I never beat Elden Ring because I genuinely got lost and lost interest, wanting to try again with a fresh build. Is a Samurai start good? On my 1st playthrough I reached like lvl 70 or 60 as an INT character, felt most of the spells to be too gimmicky to be enjoyable so I thought I'd do a weeb katana run, any flaws I should look forward to?
Talking base game, no DLC yet
>Int
I feel like only moonveil is accessible early while still pumping out poise damage and the bleed is nice >Samurai
Imo wretch, shadow of the erd tree gives a lot upgrade mats and different stuff so you should try all the stuff >Level to satisfy requirements >Upgrade to do more damage >Get more health to die less
>get radahn down to 10% on first try >jumps into space >oh no >fricking oneshot arenawide nuke i have no idea how to avoid
Im taking a break i hate this dlc
i think most people just tank it with a shield but you can also use that white perfume buff from the base game that reduces damage the next time you get hit
How long until they release a patch that makes all the bosses less aggressive?
>devs literally have to beg the players to use the game mechanics
has any other rpg had to tell their moronic ass players that it was ok to use the upgrade mechanics rather than facetank bosses for 300 hours until they get a lucky kill eventually
>use the moronic mechanic we implemented because we can't handle the game being too """easy""" if you can take on half the bosses with endgame gear
why not just give it the same kind of scaling as the base game except start it around leyndell and give bosses like a bit of extra health on top of that
or just make the weapon upgrade tree go up a few more levels or add an armor upgrade system
Because the base game has been out for 2 years and they had to balance it for people level 70 all the way to level 500 and then there's ng+ bs. I'm guessing this was the only way for it to work for every player
It's a bad solution but you see everyone having the same reactions (getting 1-2 shotted, doing no damage) so in a way it's balanced for everyone. The fragments are basically necessary
the DLC is gated behind an endgame area and one of the hardest bosses in the game
there was literally nothing wrong with just making everything Mohg Palace levels of tanky/damaging
Is there any way to get DLC gear and use it for the base game like you could in the past? Or you’re forced to wait until endgame?
Getting things like Onyx Blade early or all that crazy DS2 stuff was kino.

if you are good enough, you can get to Moghwyn early through Varre's questline.
you'll need to kill Radahn and Margit/Rennala + True Mogh. afterwards you can access the DLC and get anything that isn't a boss-drop just like that.

everything that drops in the DLC is in specific places, at least all the good shit is anyway
unlike in DS2 the only way into the DLC is beating Mohg so unless you can cheese him really early you're boned, this is on top of the fact that multiple weapons/talismans/etc. are locked behind being able to actually kill some bosses which, without endgame stuff OR DLC buffs, will be an enormous pain in the ass. They literally just took the Vendrick Giant Souls system, slapped it into the game, and called it a day
I'm using them and still getting 2-shot/1-shot from most boss attacks. It shouldn't feel like I'm playing a rune level 1 character when I have to learn these fricking wombo combos that only give you enough time to hit them fricking once once they've done their flashy anime sequence.
Lion took me a handful of tries but Rellana took me like 4 hours holy frick. Got her down to 1% HP a bunch of times but second phase is excruciating. I know I should have fricked off to find more upgrade items but was too stubborn. I was this close to rage quitting for the day. I feel like outcome of second phase is so rng based on how much proc you stacked on the first phase so you can trigger them in the second phase and keep her down.
They're really pushing the limits of my shit skills. I don't have the reflexes for this.
How the frick did you guys deal with second phase?
Why the frick do you need to stagger the wicker man 3 fricking times before he topples. Wy the frick does it need 100 fricking attacks to get him into one stagger. The most tedious enemy in the game, either should topple in one stagger or die after the first topple instead of needing to be toppled twice
maybe use one of the new voice orbs? I found the lament one in that start gaol
I also used the stagger method and I thought I'm doing somethign wrong but I didn't want to look it up.
The ones with the armored legs can be killed super fast by throwing the furnace pots in there and I was hoping you could to the same after staggering the normal ones but it doesn't work unfortunately so it's just >jump over fire waves for 5 minutes
So I really have to craft this one type of pot to kill the furnace in charo's grave? Nothing seems to affect it. The first one I killed seemed to just fall over when I hit it with ancient dragon lightning
leave vigor at 60 max, you can go to 50 or 60 (for the equip load if you really really want it) on end
damage stat depends on your build and you can just pump that all the way to 80 if you want, some weapons have high requirements but spells tend to be much higher, though the really expensive and high ones tend to be not very practical use so don't build solely for them
>pends on your build and you can just pump that all the way to 80 if you want, some weapons have high requirements but spells tend to be much higher, though the really expensive and high ones tend to be not very practical use so do
Like how he nerfed original Radahn in a patch?
I'm now very much left behind. Malenia already filtered me without my summon but the new radahn I can't even beat with my knight andreas summon.
I'm level 193 (+18 DLC blessing) and using the normal great katana and I get him down to maybe 50% health. Then my summon dies and I get hit with all the flashy teleport combos. No way I'll ever be good enough to dodge all of that.
What level did people beat him here? Any tips beyond "git gud"?
If you use a shield you can block everything and just take chip damage, use a weapon that can attack while blocking and it's brainless, might be too cheesey for you but I have no idea how you're meant to dodge anything during the second phase
I used the fingerprint one but maybe others work, first time I've ever used a shield, all you really have to do is watch your stamina so you don't get broken during a combo
>crimson-sapping cracked tear sucks balls
Of course.
I'll never know why they're okay giving us insane damage boosting items but never any good defense/tank items
I'm so mad. I have the throwing knives on keen for S scaling in Dex, have the takers cameo, the throwing talisman and rotten winged sword insignia for multihits. Finally the turtleneck charm+1 for more stamina regen and I was hoping to create a proper vampire build with that tear but it's barely noticable.
THrowing knives are wierd. against some enemies it's super busted, NPCs like in the mausoleums just spam rolls and you can barely hit them and most bosses are way too fast and you deal like 0 stance damage.
Still a fun tool for only 1.5 weight. Scatterthrowing into a bunch of mobs and dealing like 10k damage beacuse of multiple headshots is nice.
It's just taking me a while to go through charo's grave and cerulean coast, and every other dlc area, because my exploration autism requires me to sweep every area fully
Unfortunately that will likely make it rather tedious without years in between, at least I would think

Yeah gathering all those fragments all over again on a 2nd character will be tedious as frick. If there will be a mod that that gives you the blessigns as you kill bosses (and maybe the first 10 you can get without killing any bosses) I'd rather do that.
Sometimes some random shadow mobs with pots on their heads dropped them or some random hippo.
Let me guess. Sucking wiener too hard for you? Do you want easy mode so you don't have to learn how to suck a femboy off? Did you get filtered by the game wanting you to be a homosexual? Lame. Git gud scrub and learn to love wiener like I did. It ain't easy at first but when you finally gargle on that man chowder for the first time you feel like a god.
Is it just me or did most of the bosses not feel like bosses? One thing about dlc's is that they explore new ideas and tease out how the new game will feel with the dlc artorias, DS2 despite being the b-game ended up having a lot reused in DS3, BB calice dungeons and DS3 profaned capital and Painted World also influenced each other and Elden Ring of course. But Erdtree felt like content cut from the base game. I expected them to at least go with the trend of phasing bosses which in my opinion was the most unique thing about Elden Ring and wasn't explored further. People would b***h about strong enemies and the dlc hardly having bosses but I think a seamless world without fog bosses would be better
Genuinely question, what the frick were they thinking on that final boss? Fast, tanky, barely any openings, doesn't allow you to heal for shit on phase 2, how is this fun? Did they just throw everything at the dart board and not even test it?
He just did his anime light attack 3 times in a row and followed it into two jumping purple earth shatter combos and then flew up in the air with rocks and repeated it again, he was untouchable for 30 seconds
I don't know who enjoys this shit. Then you tickle him inbetween it. How is dodging for 95% of the fight and not even getting the joy of a flurry of r1s while the boss is recovering fun? At least Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne seemed to care about the player having an equal chance.
>Then you tickle him inbetween it. How is dodging for 95% of the fight and not even getting the joy of a flurry of r1s while the boss is recovering fun?
The HP bloat is the biggest problem not only in the DLC but for ER as a whole.
The bosses aggression forces you to play flawlessly but playing flawlessly doesn't reward you with more openings or make the fights go any quicker. There aren't any risky openings anymore, you have one or two dev sanctioned times to attack the boss until you need to go back on the defensive. Then you need to do that 25 times in a row because you do frickall damage. The time investment on these bosses is insane.
I've always been of the opinion that any (non JRPG) boss that takes more than 10 minutes to beat if you play it flawlessly is by default absolute garbage. People don't appreciate how important gameplay pacing is and any fight that takes absurdly long even when played to perfection is a showcase of bad game design.
This is the endgame monsters of Monster Hunter World were utter garbage. MH previously had some of the best paced bossfights ever especially when you learnt to dance with the monsters flawlessly. Meanwhile in World all the endgame hunts force you into a minimum of 30 minutes because of weird scripted shit.
Agree. Fights need to be limited in time to not feel like a horrible slog, especially if they require absolute precision.

Also agreed. the new radahn endboss is such a slog. It will probably take me several days to just learn all the patterns and then I can start whittling down his health.
Most Elden Ring DLC bosses take 3-5 minutes to kill and still feel genuinely unfair. I'd say at the rate of intensity they're going, 90 seconds should be the sweet spot
1 week ago
Anonymous
>90 seconds
that's a little too short to feel earned, some player's buff routines take almost as long lol.
I think 3-4 minutes is good.
The outcry over this proved once and for all that Monster Hunter is way harder than any Fromsoft game could ever want to be.
Try fighting Risen Shagaru in Rise and then go back to Fromsoft's simple "just dodge every thing and then do one attack during the opening for 30 minutes". Shagaru blows up the entire fighting area constantly 50 times in a row and expects you to dodge it while also attacking at the same time.
This is what happens when Fromsoft takes their shitty old ass game design in the modern age. Dark Souls being based around I frames instead of actual well thought out directional dodging was the biggest sin since the first game and they never changed that.
DS is an RPG and you can skip the iframe part if you one or two shot the bosses. And many bosses can be cheesed without using iframes because of STRAFE
I solo'd Risen Shaggy with Hammer, and while that was a pain in the ass and I triple carted for my first run I had more fun there than I have with any boss in this DLC other than Mesmer.
Turns out Miquella is even more of a raging flamboyant fruit. If anything, he likely just seduced the confused omen moron so hard he just completely lost it.
I think people here don't understand something about interacting with fromdrones.
Here, you might need this.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thought-terminating_clich%C3%A9
Fromdrones are literal meat automatons who can't react in any way outside of giving a scripted response to anything that causes a cognitive dissonance. I guess this is what happens, when you invest too much into games which essentially evolved into Pavlov's dog simulator over the years and their developers creative impotence.
I love this weapon. All I ever wanted in From games and never got it.
The good old Greatsword was too much of a Berserk reference.
Lothric GS had split damage and high dex requirements.
SoS is perfect. Just perfect.
My "dex" build is just a dex greataxe with lightning infusion and gransax for anything I feel like absolutely destroying instead of fighting. No issues so far. Great katana is pretty solid, but I don't really feel it being any way stronger than the axe.
Always get 25 fth on any build if you have spare levels, because of gloden vow. Also get 30-36 str for tower shield, helps a lot with the amount of cheap shit dlc does.
I had a good time. Using great katana and the throwing knives (they get an S scaling on keen).
Later put a few points down in faith but it doesn't really matter. Still grinding the final boss but I'm too tired for now.
I just beat Bayle solo. Definitely the hardest boss that I've fought so far, taking 2 and a half hours, but it's also probably my favorite boss in the game right now. Apparently bringing Igon makes it more fun, so I want to try that for my next run. Do people like this boss or hate it?
Only issue I have with him so far is that I end up underneath him a bunch so it's hard to tell what he's doing. His attacks seem pretty well telegraphed too so I think he's pretty cool.
I used a spirit summon and Igon and spammed the dragon katana art at him which made him trivial but I never would've been able to beat him solo anyway.
Cool fight visually but it was a big clusterfrick.
This is a pattern with the DLC bosses. So many flashing lights. projectiles, dashes/teleports, they just become a blur for me. I can't even decipher individual attacks so I'm glad my summon tanks everything.
Great visually, Igon is really cool and hams it up like no other so I'll probably always summon him for shits and giggles, OST is p gud. I don't really have any problems with him specifically, they're all just related to the game/dlc as a whole, like the shit camera whenever you have to fight something that big, or the overall stat bloat of late game Elden Ring. Not a fan of him going from a broken-wing not-flying dragon to just growing ghost wings and flying around anyway, but the attacks he uses them for are really cool so I give it a pass. Still prefer Midir.
>CURSE YOU BAAAAAAAAAAYLE >I HEARBY VOW >YOU WILL RUE THIS DAY >BEHOLD, A TRUE DRAKE WARRIOR >AND IIIIII, IGON >YOUR FEARS MADE FLESH
always bring Igon, it's fricking amazing just watching him go full Ahab vs. Moby Dick
>missed dryleaf's battle because I didn't know you could gesture to provoke the fight >missed the entirety of St Trina's quest because I accidentally killed that kindred of rot randomly laying there
at least I managed to do Ansbach's quest I guess and gave ledia that letter...
Genuinely how the frick do you even hit Bayle with a Colossal
He has one punishable move in his first phase (the slam down), for the rest even if you dodge perfectly he will immediately start another and move his head out of range. Then in his second phase he is attacking and jumping nonstop and every move has a lighting after effect so it is damn near impossible to hit him
Also what the hell were they thinking with that gank fight? Up to this point I beat every damn Souls game solo but I gave it one shot before I just decided to summon for this nonsense. It's just so tedious, Messmer and Rellana were the only bosses satisfying to beat
Thanks for the tip. I tried it once and despite me being aggressive he didn’t stagger so I figured it wasn’t a weak spot, but I’ll give it another shot
>use Dryleaf Arts on heavy build >wearing heavy armor cause muh END >don't use them cause it feels wrong not wearing monk robes/light armor
I hate my autism
I kinda liked it, made you put a bit of thought into when to summon your mimic
HOWEVER the npc summon for messmer in the arena with players messages all over it can go frick itself
all right motherfricker, how the frick are you supposed to beat radahn phase 2 without using some gay shit like a shield? he literally explodes the entire arena
>without using some gay shit like a shield
Holy shit the absolute brainrot on this autistic moron
Well, you roll roll roll roll roll roll roll around him until your Pavlovian conditioning is complete and you roll through everything correctly, you sound like you're going to like that. Fricking brain damaged genetic refuse.
I haven't beaten any (real) bosses, yet, but I did use Mimic Tear to kill the Death Knight. I honestly tried to do it legit, but I realised that I had challenged him too early (2 tree fragments), and really, REALLY did not want to run Fog Rift Catacombs twice.
At the same time, I don't want to b***h out of every boss whenever I start having a hard time by using the "guess I have to come back later" excuse.
Why is no one talking about Kos on a horse?
Here is the jist of it. Take 8 hours maneuviring your way towards the finger canyon or whatever the frick it is. The giant finger statue area. Then keep going down a hole for another 2 hours with absolutely nothing in terms of items and very sparse enemy variety. You get 1 new enemy type walkin talking worms and then you get 2 old enemy types while you keep going down a chasm. You eventually see the rock worms from the goals and they start shooting lasers at you. (This area has been the only slightly challenging non boss area in the entire game.) Then you drop down 10,000 feet to fight Kos on a horse and then kill him in one shot because he only has one scary attack and you can sit under him to not get hit and just punish the shit out of him. Then you find a flower woman that you drink her nectar from. I drink her nectar once it does nothing twice nothing thrice nothing four times she says something about miquella. WHO CARES. This has been the worst exploration area in the game. The worst reuse of a boss (and they made him easier than the Bloodborne version). Literally, almost no story. It is awful.
>Literally, almost no story. It is awful.
he was going to be the bodyguard for the gloomeyed queen but they cut all that shit out the dlc and just pasted the boss in front of Trina
i don't even give a flying frick about the bosses anymore
the world is still empty, and still unrewarding to explore
ER is suffering of WoW syndrome, nothing matters, only bosses
Never. Git gud.
Gitting gud doesn't suddenly make the bosses with their 50 hit combos that never let up suddenly have opening to land more than the very rare light attack that does no damage.
parry/block+counter/dodge/create distance and use range.
holyshit literally just stop crying and git gud, I miss the days when souls were a niche series and not flooded with casuals
>headcanon
doesn't happen and we already have vids of every boss being beaten without cheese, some even without rolling at all
you lietrally can't parry or block or creating space against Radahn, all you can do is rollslopping and then get 1 light attack in when his 12 combos stops. but ONLY is his AI doesn't decide to cancel his combo into another attack that takes 70% of your health.
Casually block and poke Twin Princes to death
>Fake Prime Radahn is just as vulnerable to getting ROT'd as real Radahn
lol
Use a shield, moron.
Use summons, ash and npc for their quests.
Get skibiditree fragments.
Use whatever mechanics the game gives you.
Or do you need to wait for some youtube homosexual to spell them for you, and then what, you'll come here boasting about how you figured it all for yourself and call everyone else a shitter?
>he fell for the YDBTG meme
kek
NTA but I'm someone who loves to fully engage with all the mechanics in the game but like other anons are saying, the last boss is phenomenally bad, even using every exploit I've got without going full cheese boring mode.
I literally beat him on my third try. Did you just call ingame mechanics exploits?
It quite literally does
in the same time it takes to do one heavy weapon light attack you can do 3 light attacks and a heavy attack with a katana that does triple the damage. who designed this shit?
They did it for Radahn. They will do it again.
>
>Cuck player defenselessly watching the boss having all the fun
Who enjoys this shit
remember when fromdrones were coping that this shit was made by a modder? imagine this, diehard fromsoft fans calling work from the developers themselves that it looked modded KEK
that shit was the biggest Ganker meltdown to date
Looks like he has some huge winde-ups, this guy's just a pussy

what did they do to malenia?

FPBP
This DLC is great
Stellar Blade is great
Seethe moar troons
Today. Stay bad.
Stay bad Elder Ring. Stay bad.
If they were smart, they would instead increase the power of the two new item buffs you collect. Then people can manage it themselves.
never, the issue people have is the stutters not the bosses
The game 100% get nerfed.
Look at the balance different in review copy bosses and the current patch bosses.
Like Radahn, review copies his HP is at 50% at the start of phase 2. Release copy he is at 75%
>Look at the balance different in review copy bosses and the current patch bosses.
Remember when Miyazaki said that game has no difficulty options so every player would be on same level of discussion with others?
I remember.
release is not 75% it's like 66% if I had to guess
also looking at leak it was not 50% there either was 100% above 50% either way the difference is 5-10% looking at videos I compared

Well said, Base game opened the floodgates to alot of secondary casuals and the DLC is showing them the way out.
Behold, the final form of autism.
>If you ignore 99% of the mechanics and pressed more than roll + r1 you are not "interacting with the content"
Why are Ds3 babbies like this?
You literally have no fundamentals, shitter, that is why you get destroyed. Simple as.
bot post
The base game bosses actually had openings where you could punish them. The DLC bosses are just nonstop rolling from their never ending combo chains.
This is the one time using a great shield doesn't feel like its breaking the game.
Fromsoft don't know how to design difficulty anymore.
It's more like they feel they need to up the ante with each game. They assume their hardcore fans would be pissed if they released games as hard as DS1 over and over.
>How are the bosses worse than the base game? I played ER but never got very far because the gameplay wasn't very fun
then how the frick would you know, Black person? get the frick out of here
miyazaki really disrespects people who play his games, a movie really has to justify its length to its audience, whereas miyazaki will make a boss that will take you 4 hours to beat and act like thats normal, and the whole dlc is full of bosses like that.
its sad how worshipped this terrible genre is
I do agree with what you're saying on a personal level but is that really the case? Reading these threads highlights just how masochistic some people are, that they want to struggle for hours on end on "difficult" fights. He is clearly catering to a pretty sizable audience. Said audience is utterly insufferable, however.
You're fighting against gods and demigods. It's not supposed to be easy.
rtst
This solidifies The Old Hunters as the best DLC they have made
True
>dlc is so shit they release it with items that do nothing but lower enemy health and damage
Christ, you're obnoxious.
oh shut the frick up. This series is more than 10 years old. It's FOR us, not you. get over yourself homosexual
Why are you assuming I haven't beaten it? Maybe I'm just not a petty douche.
You're a redditing incel who talks like a gay
You're a child with rage issues. Get over yourself.
I honestly can't tell which is cringier the clueless zoomer homosexuals and their terrible bluffs or you 35 year olds thinking you're old and wise now trying to lil bro all the young'uns with your oldgay skills
You guys are both homosexuals, but youre the biggest one for advocating against gatekeeping.
Do you not have a real life job that's annoying enough? Do you want video games to be everyone's job?
a week or two, they need to swim to the otherside of the money pool a few times before they fix the game
bosses won't be less aggressive, they'll just tune the hp down by like 50% and it'll still take 5 minutes to kill one unless RNG gives you the "good" attacks
time to go back to the roots
>no more boss fights
>game is purely gauntlet dungeons
>quests take place in the gauntlets, pretty straight forward
>puzzles
>enemies adapt better
>enemies patrol more
>enemies change positioning with progression
>levels change with progression
>seamless co-op with invasions
>final boss is a fight with storm ruler
I pray every day for fromsoft to drop the cringe boss rush simulators and make adventure games again. A kings field with modern day techhnology would be GOTD
Fromsoft should be making survival horror games.
>boss rush simulators
They don't even add option to replay boss battles, despite making focus on boss battles
And they added that feature in Sekiro(and it was fun because Sekiro is fun)
Sekiro does commit to their formula by being designed around good and fun combat and bosses. Don't understand why they went back on all the good choices they made on it like the posture/parry system or the gapcloser hook. Rolling simply sucks if they want to overdesign encounters
too good to happen
now enjoy le pretty landscapes in empty huge world and recycled bosses
So you want a non souls game, gotcha.
It has been 15 years and quests still progress or brick on random key bosses and quest people teleport around without notice or logic.
Fromsoft isn't capable of creating that game you want.
Kino. You get the Moonlight Greatsword at the end and fight the Stormruler clone with waves of moonlight, while cutting down any trash he summons with 2 swings and sidestepping his ranged attacks.
Honestly they should treat the dungeons much nicer because shadow keep is pretty great and there's a few other great dungeons. They could easily trim so much of the open world and still have it feel just as vast but probably with more detail and less empty nonsense.
why no boss fights?
>radahn is going to get nerfed again
history is repeating itself
Next week. it also happened with the main game. The Elden Ring you play today is not the same as it released, they nerfed the frick out of everything, thanks to braindead amerishart crybabies
Elden Ring 1.0 was such a broken mess that they forgot to even put the endings to the side quests in the game.
what has that to do with difficulty? fixing shit is good but stop nerfing the fricking game down with each new patch. Soulsborne going mainstream was a mistake
>Soulsborne going mainstream was a mistake
with dark souls 1? Franchise went downhill after it for entirely different reasons that you think fromslopper
>amerishart
But it's the chinks who flood the reviews like rats complaining about difficulty, Chang.
I always hated fighting Mogh and that burning blood skills of his.
I wish I were good enough to enjoy these games. No amount of practice will ever make me good enough to play Souls games.
You don't have to be good. Just summon people and let them do their job.
Try out Dark Souls 1. Invest in a shield if you play as a melee. Blocking and parrying feel amazing in that game. It's so much different than nu Fromsoft games.
that shitty fricking shit knight... why is he so aggressive? He's like Orphan of Kos dialed up to 11, theres no elegance, no dance to be enjoyed
The bosses ill 100% get nerfed the thing is it won't make one but of difference for the people getting filtered
Wait a year
And wait 2 for optimization patch
Are the bosses actually worse than the worst offenders of the base game? Malekith, Malenia tier?
Yep.
Des doesn't have dlc tho
Sekiro inner bosses count as a datapoint for the trend
I really don't understand it at this point.
>but the combat system has not progressed much to adapt.
What are Art of Wars
>ERMMMM LE CRUTCH THAT YOU DIDNT BEAT THE GAME IF YOU USED
>What are Art of Wars
New R1
It literally just replaces R1 for cancerous R1 spamming bosses
because the series is now pandering towards people who don't want enjoyable gameplay, but just want an excuse to spam "git gut" all day long. started with DS1, where morons kept getting fricked by mimics and obvious traps, so it got the super-hard label, which attracted exactly that crowd.
it's never going to stray from that formula again, because it's its core audience
yeah, most normalgays didn't pick up dark souls because they were genuinely interested in the game.
We sincerely need a bloodborne port, maybe it'll make From realize where they went wrong.
At this stage, I'm starting to think Studio Japan hard carried that game.
Most people think they are too cool for it or just ignored it, and then when boss takes silvers of damage and oneshots them with most attacks they do a surprised pikachu face and run crying to complain about how the game is bullshit.
damage output is not the problem with the dlc bosses whatsoever
the issue are the moronic 15+ attack combos these frickers are doing
>What if we turn dark souls into dmc but you play as fodder and bosses are dante
Shit dlc
Man I hate beating Wickermens legs and jumping over their fire attacks. Who thought this was fun design. Also frick Dragons, atleast Bayle was fun fight.
I love how one of the wickermen is fought on some shit camp so half the time you jump you get clipped into a wall or carp and the horse dies, riveting gameplay
The ancient dragon before Bayle, was a harder fight than Bayle. But the quality of it was just shit cause it was the existing dragons but way more tanky.
I just skipped that one, he kept 2 shotting me and I could not dodge lightning attacks.
You can cheese it by poison arrows.
Best Souls 2 lives on.
What are you even supposed to do against the ones with armored legs?
You can throw fire pots into the furnace for damage but i can't hold nearly enough at one time to actually kill them.
hefty furnace pots do an absurd amount of damage to them, I don't know why the fire pots are what beats them but yeah it's moronic
Im gonna have to make a webm of what I'm doing because i thought thats exactly what i was doing already.
Well hell it worked that time. Must have been too tired when i tried last night.
Fire pots/holy pots do 41k damage to them if you throw it into their furnace.
at best i see them dropped HP values for a few or increasing the effect amount of the scadutree buff
i've not had a chance to make it past messmer yet but the only thing that's been 'hard' after getting all of the buff shards available has been the frickin' camera for the divine beast. the lock on point for that fricker needs changed.
did i buy a different game from you idiots? cause in my version the bosses give you a ton of time to heal and buff mid-fight and the attacks all have big telegraphs and the fights in general are no harder than maybe friede or elden beast. great fights too, really cool moves, nice spectacle very epic. enjoying the dlc immensely. i'm also exploring and finding the tree root buffs or whatever like a smart guy. try not being shit
vast majority of people in these threads are garbage
Try actually beating the DLC before spewing your reddit opinion here.
You have to understand every single fromsoft troony homosexual has given it a positive review at this point and it's still mixed.
If bosses have 10 hit combos I shall use mine too simple as
Have you beaten the final boss?
still half way through. I fully expect my tactic to not work at all on him and get fricked in the ass
Finally beat Rellana, holy shit they just outright punishing correctly timed rolling now.
i want them to patch the clipping
first try, what a joke
if you can't beat him, just use a better weapon like me
it's SO simple
Messmer had absolutely nothing on the last boss of the DLC. It's an actual joke how fricked he is. I can't believe no one is talking about it and are focusing on Messmer who isn't even that bad.
well, that's easy. They can't get past Memmer lol
most people aren't there yet including me, the DLC is absolutely gigantic
>I can't believe no one is talking about it
I'm waiting for everyone to catch up but yeah, it's the worst boss From has ever made.
That's the funniest thing about these threads for me. People are posting themselves killing messmer and going "ay yo this DLC is easy as frick bro, git gud!". Within a week they will be seething lmao. Messmer is like 5% of the final boss in terms of 'difficulty'
I beat Messmer pretty easy but today I got to the second half of the Radahn fight and just shut off my PS5. It's supreme bullshit
it's genuinely cancerous trying to fight that shit, it wasn't even a "yeah I finally got it down and beat him" when I won it was just utterly fricking exhausting
I'm so tired of the constant anime dash flip trip bullshit and screen-covering nukes (which drops your FPS btw), and that's not even getting into the fact that it's just Radahn AGAIN as the final boss of the entire game
Radahn Redux broke the camel’s back.
What were they thinking?
>solves the fight
did this with the antusr spur with some occult bleed shit on it so i could poke attack while shielding, rot + bleed + insane holy res. phase 2.5 is watching radahn succumb to rot while he goes full moron spaz
Based. I shield poked with a bleed weapon for messmer and every boss after him. If the game is going to throw cheap bullshit at me im going to do it too.
>mother... zanzibart...
they literally have that writing
you used 1 of the most OP weapons in the game. and that's the point; of course you can go 2-handed cold/blood star fists and melt bosses, but why give the player so many shit to make unique builds, when only a handfull can stand up to the autistic 10 hit combo bosses?
just pick better weapons then
if you suck wiener, just pick better weapons
It's really that easy
If you can't beat him without them then you're one of the ones who need it
simple as
>I CAN'T HANDLE MY OWN SELF IMPOSED CHALLENGES SO I MUST GO ONLINE AND COMPLAIN THAT I'M A SHITTER
But the one complaining was the one using op weapon. You reply should be directed to them.
holy chads win again; the nerfs did nothing
Did I frick up by beating Fire Giant and burning the tree? Did I just frick myself out of clearing the sewers under the capital shit?
No one answered you, but yes you fricked up.
the sewers are still there bro
Never you fotm shitter you’re just bad at video games lmao go find another hobby troony
I think he may be the reason Eurogamer gave that score. He's souring the whole fricking experience for me.
Zoomer yap trash open world game
?si=oVI3ApUl8iUR4gRr&t=1078
>the game gives you a greatshield with 90 block boost
>the game gives you a talisman that makes the shield block non-physical damage
that's the easy mode for all "aggressive" bosses. you poke them with a bleed/rot poker from behind your wall of steel, completely ignoring attacks.
A way to enjoy the game, must be
People play lance in mon hun so some must like it? It's more respectable than ranged shitters.
But lance is THE rollslop weapon, it was called evade+2 backstep
>mon hun is a monolith and weapon playstyles don't change over releases
Sure
shield + spear doesn't make anybody enjoy the game, but fighting the dogshit bosses certainly doesn't either. it's the lesser evil.
Beast Clergyman, for example is only really somewhat tolerable using shield + spear.
When does this dlc even take place?
When you buy it
Does comet azur still work or did that get nerfed into the ground? I haven't played since launch
>two more weeks
honestly though, they will tweak the gay Team visuals and that's probably it, maybe buff scadutree fragment scaling, but that's it
My problem with nu-Fromsoft bosses is that if you get hit once it’s basically over because it throws off your rhythm to dodge and if you back up to heal they input read that and hit you while you’re healing.
>effortlessly neutralizes bullshit anime combos in you're path
this thing literally solves every problem I have with any boss
>give tiny damage windows
>give the player tiny damage
ok
>fans of the game tell you to "git gud"
>when the answer is "go get bolt paper or whatever it is you need to do more damage"
>still do tiny damage in those limited windows
Bro just summon
Summoning is dead. No one does it outside of SA
I beat bootleg Mogh. I forgot how to get to the frenzied flame shit.
>base game bosses were fricking dogshit except for the Margits and Godfrey Loux
>DLC doubles down on it
>cultists defend it not even for free but after paying $40
Wild stuff.
Hey I didn't pay 40 to tell you that I made a purchase that I am not happy with.
what the frick were they thinking with the fire knights? if you cant keep them stunlocked for the entirety of their health bar they just rape you
lmao PCTroons really are a pathetic bunch
betting the Google search results for 'Cheat Engine' are skyrocketing right now
I don't mind the bosses being aggressive if they scale back on the infinite combos.
Radahn took a week. So expect that
you're supposed to explore and collect those fragments before taking on the bosses. why are people so stupid ?
>morons keep saying Rellana is this super hard bullshit boss
>literally beat her first try
Holy shit this board really is bad at video games
Bro, only 30% of people even made it to the dlc. They're not bad, you just spend a shit ton of time playing it and are good.
I hadn't played the game since release, stop coping
What's that for to do with you playing games a lot?
>Use +25 quality build nwordkaiba from base game
>Apply bloodflame
>Go in rellana's room
>Ding ding tiche
>Get my ass kicked
>But what if...
>Ding ding
>Mimic tear
>Nonstop bleed procs
>Enemy defeated
Yeah I dunno I think the autists are just too used to the easy fights that you can bypass with rpg elements in the base game, it's Melania all over again
I just found out about the odachi (that's Japanese for great katana for you ignorant westerners) and yeah this thing slaps
>nword
Black person. It's Black person.
nu-Ganker is just a subreddit now, go to leddit and see all the exact same posts about the difficulty
Just patch out the blessings and the game is fixed.
>no trophies
don't care not my problem
>copium stocks full: never
>reality: about the same time it took to "nerf" radahn
Likely they'll leave things as they are for probably a month, let the "hardcore" dickwaggers get through the DLC with their unemployed time then nerf it and buff some weapon/spells so everyone can reasonably get through it. Personally I just want them to tone down the input reading on enemies, I don't need a human invader backstepping literally everything I do and animation cancelling.
I like new trolling narrative.
>Players and even the dumbshit Miyazaki still think that the difficulty is the main issue
if dr disrespect can kill these bosses so can you
yeah but will it be fun? You can learn all the math you like, complete college courses and land a job in a field where you run equations all day long your entire life. But is it fun?
The bosses in elden ring are a chore. They are by far the worst part of an excellent game.
It is OK to not like a game anon. Play something else.
I love the game, I hate the bosses, as I clearly stated in the post you replied too. Replying to a post you didn't read makes you look like a gay.
>I love the game, I hate the bosses
anon...
Articulate your feelings, son, I know you can do it. You can't just BRUH and ... your way through life, you're going to have to communicate one day.
Any tips on fighting the divine beast? I get to his 2nd form and he just bums me, lads. I'm already nude, strong unga bunga build.
Use bleed.
Roger that
Only thing think they should change is the giant katana having a bugged crit attack
>Mesmer literally one shotting me with almost all attacks.
>Golden Hippo also a pain in the ass.
>Go explore for Scadutree Fragments.
>Find St.Trina, and a ton of npc quests that would have dissapeared if I had beaten Mesmer.
Actually glad that happened.
yep that's the point
also, NPC states don't advance until you burn the sealing tree, you are free to beat Messmer
Well Hornsent wants to kill Messmer, so I'm probably gonna summon him just to see what happens.
I'm going to use the old black night spirit too
*knight
do you have to summon NPCs for bosses to progress their quests? It wasn't like this in the basegame
>Summon Hornsent during Messmer the Impaler fight: He imparts his final message to Messmer and decides to pursue vengeance by eliminating the rest of Marika's offspring and ends his questline here. (It is still unknown where to find his body after this encounter)
>If you DO NOT summon Hornsent during Messmer the Impaler fight: He will say "Where now should I point my tired blade."
>After Messmer, Hornsent will invade you right before the boss of this late dlc area and drop all his equipment when defeated.
go get the deflect tear. I am going full sekiro on the bosses with it and it's great
The deflect tear is so much fun on the Rellana boss.
Hopefully not until I finish it.
Rhadan is going to get nerfed for sure, as he seems bugged. don't think anyone else is.
entire combat system would be fixed if they make the player character faster in everything
We have Nioh at home
at least tweak the input buffering, it is starting to become a real issue with how aggressive the bosses are.
Seriously, just let me play with my BB hunter and I can be happy.
May as well, we're halfway there already.
git gud crybaby
Take your own advice, I'm giving suggestions to make the game more challenging. It's piss easy as it is.
git gud crybaby all you do is cry
>[HEADCANON]
See?
I think I give up, I can't fricking beat the final boss. Phase 2 is a fricking joke. I'm just going to summon a spirit and be done with it.
>he thinks his spirit will do anything against the spastic dlc bosses
they can’t get a single fricking hit in lmao
How long until they:
>remove skat upgrades
>fix the bosses
>fix the trash mobs
>fix the entire convoluted map
>fix the copy paste caves and tombs
>fix the lore
>fix the frame drops
also, I didn’t see a single red summon sign and never got invaded throughout my playthrough. what’s going on there?
I've been invaded a few times but only in areas I figured would have a lot of people.
Never. Bloodborne ruined the formula forever.
SOVLESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frick all you asmongoloid shitters lobbying for the game to get nerfed
You did the same fricking thing to ac6
Stay on your shitty op build and dont frick the game for everyone else
The tomb down to the abyss with the final boss fight was pure elevator kino
Where is the cool bear boss that drops the helmet?
The lake east of the big soldier camp before Shadow Keep
Thank you
I hope they buff all the bosses. I want every single chinkbug purged from this game
I thought Asians were supposed to be autistically smart and thus good at math and videogames, how did this happen? or is the stereotype only true for the Japanese and the chinks hitchhiked on it?
Chinks are widely regarded as the Black folk of Asian countries, shouldn't be a surprise to anyone
Chinese people are weird and think the universe exist to suck their dicks.
>Int
I feel like only moonveil is accessible early while still pumping out poise damage and the bleed is nice
>Samurai
Imo wretch, shadow of the erd tree gives a lot upgrade mats and different stuff so you should try all the stuff
>Level to satisfy requirements
>Upgrade to do more damage
>Get more health to die less
Honestly easier to parry than Malenia, stops him from going sicko mode in phase 2.
Tried to help other people now that I got him downloaded but parrying him doesn't work in multiplayer MIYAZAKI
>get radahn down to 10% on first try
>jumps into space
>oh no
>fricking oneshot arenawide nuke i have no idea how to avoid
Im taking a break i hate this dlc
i think most people just tank it with a shield but you can also use that white perfume buff from the base game that reduces damage the next time you get hit
The score may need to go lower.
Even Metacritic with all it's "removing negative scores" is below Ringed City, let alone Old Hunters.
He means the user score, not the $ score.
You lost.
>critics
How does that TLOU2 troony dick taste? Stop being a moron, you clearly knew I meant user score.
>devs literally have to beg the players to use the game mechanics
has any other rpg had to tell their moronic ass players that it was ok to use the upgrade mechanics rather than facetank bosses for 300 hours until they get a lucky kill eventually
This is a franchise whose core fan base knows more lore than mechanics
>use the moronic mechanic we implemented because we can't handle the game being too """easy""" if you can take on half the bosses with endgame gear
why not just give it the same kind of scaling as the base game except start it around leyndell and give bosses like a bit of extra health on top of that
or just make the weapon upgrade tree go up a few more levels or add an armor upgrade system
Because the base game has been out for 2 years and they had to balance it for people level 70 all the way to level 500 and then there's ng+ bs. I'm guessing this was the only way for it to work for every player
But this solution doesn't solve that problem at all
It's a bad solution but you see everyone having the same reactions (getting 1-2 shotted, doing no damage) so in a way it's balanced for everyone. The fragments are basically necessary
It’s not as egregious as Wo Long’s flag system but equally as bad in a conceptual level.
the DLC is gated behind an endgame area and one of the hardest bosses in the game
there was literally nothing wrong with just making everything Mohg Palace levels of tanky/damaging
You're so shit at this game, what's wrong none of your crutches are working?
they can just summon if its taking hours
kai cenat is breezing through this, people who want nerfs are embarrassing
>My favorite e-celeb is doing X.
>IT'S TOO HARD NERF THE GAME NOOOO-ACK!!
Holy crap maybe I shouldn't be sleeping on the perfumes
>pressed buttons
Didn't beat the game
>make an otter
>call it a hippo
are the perfumes actually that fricking busted
and does the talisman apply to them
No more busted than Moonveil or MLGS
where do i find the lightning one?
Lion took me a handful of tries but Rellana took me like 4 hours holy frick. Got her down to 1% HP a bunch of times but second phase is excruciating. I know I should have fricked off to find more upgrade items but was too stubborn. I was this close to rage quitting for the day. I feel like outcome of second phase is so rng based on how much proc you stacked on the first phase so you can trigger them in the second phase and keep her down.
They're really pushing the limits of my shit skills. I don't have the reflexes for this.
How the frick did you guys deal with second phase?
Summon Leda
Summon Tiche
They both died but she only had like 10% HP left by then.
You MUST summon or the DLC is near impossible.
Summoning Leda is a calculated risk. It really ups the health or defense of the boss.
>You MUST summon or the DLC is near impossible.
scrub
Keep not using the tools the game gives you
Seemed to work fine for me
I had 7 or 8 blessings and staggered her to death no problem
I like the overworld. Just got to the river under the bridge in the starting area.
Elden Ring is a rhythm game. No wonder Ganker sucks at it.
I can't for the life of me choose a build
What's up with the Kindred of Rot guy who gives you a recipe book?
The "forager brood" seem to be friends of Moore the merchant. I've only met one, I saw another from a long distance.
I found one down south near the blue plant shore place with its head stuck in the ground. No idea what to do there so I left it.
The ones with the armored legs can be killed super fast by throwing the furnace pots in there and I was hoping you could to the same after staggering the normal ones but it doesn't work unfortunately so it's just
>jump over fire waves for 5 minutes
you can throw the pots into the unarmored ones too but its a waste and some dont have any high ground to get to throw em in
So I really have to craft this one type of pot to kill the furnace in charo's grave? Nothing seems to affect it. The first one I killed seemed to just fall over when I hit it with ancient dragon lightning
reached level 175, whats even worth leveling up at this point? do you go above end 40, vigor 60? what stat for combat?
Depends on what your weapon scales with. I'm at 80 int
leave vigor at 60 max, you can go to 50 or 60 (for the equip load if you really really want it) on end
damage stat depends on your build and you can just pump that all the way to 80 if you want, some weapons have high requirements but spells tend to be much higher, though the really expensive and high ones tend to be not very practical use so don't build solely for them
Time for hybrid. There's no point in not getting int, fth, or arc
they won't miyazaki has integrity
>pends on your build and you can just pump that all the way to 80 if you want, some weapons have high requirements but spells tend to be much higher, though the really expensive and high ones tend to be not very practical use so do
Like how he nerfed original Radahn in a patch?
I'm now very much left behind. Malenia already filtered me without my summon but the new radahn I can't even beat with my knight andreas summon.
I'm level 193 (+18 DLC blessing) and using the normal great katana and I get him down to maybe 50% health. Then my summon dies and I get hit with all the flashy teleport combos. No way I'll ever be good enough to dodge all of that.
What level did people beat him here? Any tips beyond "git gud"?
Try with Mimic
If you use a shield you can block everything and just take chip damage, use a weapon that can attack while blocking and it's brainless, might be too cheesey for you but I have no idea how you're meant to dodge anything during the second phase
I don't care how cheesy, I just want to kill him.
What shield?
Damn, this expansion is monstrously big. I thought exploring the south coast would be a quick little project for one or two sessions
What did you find down there Black person? Share it with the class. Everyone else thinks that place is empty
It's just taking me a while to go through charo's grave and cerulean coast, and every other dlc area, because my exploration autism requires me to sweep every area fully
They designed this dlc for you given the Scatman Tree blessings are lying around in random places
Yea I'm enjoying that aspect, but we'll see how I feel if I ever play this dlc a second time
Unfortunately that will likely make it rather tedious without years in between, at least I would think
If they do that, it will be worse than "You didn't beat Pre-nerf Baltaeus you didn't beat the game" or "You didn't beat Radahn if it was post nerf"
Radahn wasn't even nerfed. They literally just fixed the hitboxes, and these folks glazed the "wrong" version of the fight, lol.
Try rolling around a thousand times and pressing r1 in between some of the rolls, these games are all about speed now
>realize that healing is almost fricking impossible with the dlc bosses
>put on ritual sword talisman and just plan to never get hit
>works
Aw frick
I just heal off the blasphemous blade, can heal 1/3 of my bar in one use of the special. Even now its nerfed the self heal part of it is still amazing
dsp status?
And about the difficulty learn to Strafe
Genuinely question, what the frick were they thinking on that final boss? Fast, tanky, barely any openings, doesn't allow you to heal for shit on phase 2, how is this fun? Did they just throw everything at the dart board and not even test it?
Learn to Strafe, the boss's vulnerable points and his rhythm. All bosses can be looped as well
He just did his anime light attack 3 times in a row and followed it into two jumping purple earth shatter combos and then flew up in the air with rocks and repeated it again, he was untouchable for 30 seconds
You know that jumping has iframes in this game, right? All attacks that have this ground-crushing effect can be dodged with a simple jump.
>90 seconds
that's a little too short to feel earned, some player's buff routines take almost as long lol.
I think 3-4 minutes is good.
from the bosses ive fought the only nerfs that are needed are a complete combover on the hitboxes of gaius
>Hitbox is bad
>there is no evidence of this
It's DS2 ''bad hitbox '' excuse again
Messmer is fricking amazing, holy shit
They fixed it in DS2 and you cried like a little girl
I solo'd Risen Shaggy with Hammer, and while that was a pain in the ass and I triple carted for my first run I had more fun there than I have with any boss in this DLC other than Mesmer.
These games have always been easy with the only form of challenge being self imposed autism.
If you find the game too hard, then the game wasn't meant for you. Simple as.
The only bad thing about her is that you can't counter everything but she's "fair" by series standards.
i've heard this DLC redeems Mohg
how did it do it?
how did the kidnapper pedo homosexual haematophil somnophil get redeemed?
It confirms that Miquella was a manipulative homosexual all along
>"Person 1 makes claim Y. Claim Y sounds catchy. Therefore, claim Y is true."
good lord it's true.
All of these cool new weapons they throw at you and I've been using the sword of solitude the entire time
Too many Guts Swords in this game unironically.
We get it Miyazacki.
I love this weapon. All I ever wanted in From games and never got it.
The good old Greatsword was too much of a Berserk reference.
Lothric GS had split damage and high dex requirements.
SoS is perfect. Just perfect.
epic
had the same happen to me. leave and come back, the enemy will respawn and you can kill him again on that pedestal and it will drop normally.
Nice, thanks.
Does the dragoncrest greatshield talisman get cucked by scadurtree blessings? The diminishing returns seem to make it not worth it.
Pure Dexgays how are we eating with the dlc?
With how many runes you get I'm thinking of putting points into arcane or faith because frick it
My "dex" build is just a dex greataxe with lightning infusion and gransax for anything I feel like absolutely destroying instead of fighting.
Are these the same item, but with a different look?
I went to respec and had no different options. I think it's for lore reasons but idk.
That with one an HDR OLED was great, like holy shit its visually incredibly.
also I can't see shit and get hit
>CURSE YOU BAAAAAAAAAAYLE
>I HEARBY VOW
>YOU WILL RUE THIS DAY
>BEHOLD, A TRUE DRAKE WARRIOR
>AND IIIIII, IGON
>YOUR FEARS MADE FLESH
always bring Igon, it's fricking amazing just watching him go full Ahab vs. Moby Dick
Dryleaf Arts are really fun, but honestly the Pata outshine it for me
I'm waiting for them to release a patch that makes the final remembrance's incantation not do PISS FRICKING DAMAGE
>missed dryleaf's battle because I didn't know you could gesture to provoke the fight
>missed the entirety of St Trina's quest because I accidentally killed that kindred of rot randomly laying there
at least I managed to do Ansbach's quest I guess and gave ledia that letter...
Don't aim for his head, aim for his leg wound, it's another weak spot and way easier to hit.
Thanks for the tip. I tried it once and despite me being aggressive he didn’t stagger so I figured it wasn’t a weak spot, but I’ll give it another shot
>use Dryleaf Arts on heavy build
>wearing heavy armor cause muh END
>don't use them cause it feels wrong not wearing monk robes/light armor
I hate my autism
I kinda liked it, made you put a bit of thought into when to summon your mimic
HOWEVER the npc summon for messmer in the arena with players messages all over it can go frick itself
all right motherfricker, how the frick are you supposed to beat radahn phase 2 without using some gay shit like a shield? he literally explodes the entire arena
jump
>without using some gay shit like a shield
Holy shit the absolute brainrot on this autistic moron
Well, you roll roll roll roll roll roll roll around him until your Pavlovian conditioning is complete and you roll through everything correctly, you sound like you're going to like that. Fricking brain damaged genetic refuse.
shield user detected, you didn't beat the game and now you never can
Proofs?
Did Dex/Fth get anything cool?
probably soon so you gays better beat it ASAP or else it won't count
I've died more to this fricking Death Rite Bird than I have Messmer
One Phrase
HEAL FROM AFAR
I've been basically using that to freely heal everything. It is the best spell in the game. It takes a little practice hitting people from far range.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that boss, it was kinda immersion breaking honestly
>Literally, almost no story. It is awful.
he was going to be the bodyguard for the gloomeyed queen but they cut all that shit out the dlc and just pasted the boss in front of Trina
Shield bros have discovered their solution
I have discovered mine
EASY GAME
i don't even give a flying frick about the bosses anymore
the world is still empty, and still unrewarding to explore
ER is suffering of WoW syndrome, nothing matters, only bosses
>dodge one attack
>another one is already on the way and hits you before you can recover from the first
I miss demon's souls and dark souls
whats the timing for that tree avatar aoe attack? like the thorn floor
