The only appeal of a PMD is if you want to become a pokemon, have kids with your partner and live a happy life where there is no tech or a shitty society that ruins everything

I agree, wish you could play as interesting pokemon like Gastly instead of the whitebread starters.

heres what i do when i want something like ghastly

        1. download skytemple and open EOS
        2. add gastly to the starter list
        3. go to gastly's page and give it your desired stats and level up moveset
        4. export a sheet of portriats from a pokemon with a full portrait set
        5. download a fan made gastly portrait sheet
        6. open the original portrait sheet and the fan made one and paste gastly over the starter portaits
        7. import the portrait sheet you made into ghastly's sheet
        8. save and enjoy gastly

It's a copu of pmd blue minus the soul, so if you are a ZOOM ZOOM it will be the best game ever to you. Otherwise, avoid like the plague.

    Not bad.
Some QoL features introduced but a few others removed. Still its a remake of the weakest PMD tittle so it isn't incredible. Fun post game, very very easy story.

As someone who loves the original, it's a splendid remake. They took the original and updated to a modern standard while also putting work in the cutscenes. The only real loss was explorable friend areas.

It's the definitive version of Red and Blue Rescue Team. Whether or not Red and Blue Rescue Team were good games is up for interpretation, but this is most definitely the best version of them available. I will say I enjoyed how the cell-shading makes it look almost like a living painting - it feels like you're playing one oi those old children's story books.

The color scheme is fricked, I don't know why they put those colors and not something less fricking plastic. They do work for th effect of a children's book but are shit for prolonged playing sessions. I usually play PMD for short periods.

          >I usually play PMD for short periods.
You're supposed to - the game literally tells you when you've been playing too long
          >"Game Saved! You've had a great adventure today - maybe you should rest a bit before playing some more!"

That's cucked shit for morons that don't take a shit or a piss and allow themselves to shit themselves, I know how to control myself and such measures are extremely annoying. It's part of why I dislike World of warcraft.
            >YOU HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR SOMETIME, MAYBE CONSIDER RESTING
            Frick off b***h.

Actually, that mostly exists for the Chinese market.

Any time you see anything that discourages playing for a long time, especially if it's beyond an annoying text box, mentally add "We want the Chinese audience" to that feature.
For various reasons, China spergs out over productivity lost to video games, and is much more likely to localize a game if it has features like that.

Honestly I was hyped for it until I saw that the game doesn‘t have an a attack button anymore. How is that change?

It's really good for a remake. Most controversial change was the removal of walkable Friend Areas and generic attacks. Former is at least made up by all the music and sprites being preserved in menus. You'll have to rely on other methods now for attacking. Other than that, the game makes the usual updates you'd expect from a newer generation game (despite the only post-IV Pokémon being Sylveon). The IQ system was also removed, but replaced with a new ability system. Overall, the remake has a beautiful art style and some nice quality of life changes. Even with the few arguable changes, I'd absolutely say it's a great revisit to the original PMD and definitely the definitive way to play if you're new to the series.

How does it stack up to the other games? About the same as the original in my opinion. It's hard to beat Explorers, and I'm definitely on the boat that loves Super. Still better than Gates to Infinity, of course.

I still don't understand why they took out the basic attack, it was such a good way to save PP

        Anonymous

I think it was a combination of them wanting to increase emphasis on flashier moves and them wanting to remove an option they saw as too simple. Basic attacks were already nerfed to death in the 3DS games, where they added a far more convenient interface for using PP moves. I would have liked and even preferred it if they kept the basic attack, but I can see why they dropped it. There's a few other small elements that were PMD specific that were also removed. The exclusive moves Wide Slash and Vacuum-Cut are no longer present for example. May have just wanted to put the series a bit more in-line with mainline Pokémon.

I like RT's plot more than the other games. Sometimes less is more. Besides, the level 1 dungeons in the remake are more than "lmao teleport spam alakazam" which i like.

Good presentation, but mechanically and immersively worse in almost every single way to the original. They took what was already the most simple and accessible roguelike that I know of, and defanged it to the point that it's very nearly a game that can beat itself.

I could hardly reccomend it to a new player, I would only reccomend it to someone that played and loved the original, and the novel presentation was worth more.

For what it's worth, the art style is gorgeous, New Pokemon Snap and Legends Arceus have it beat in some ways, but this is really solid. Music remixes are hit and miss. Some are better, some are worse, none of them are better than that godtier fanmade partial soundtrack to Recue Team and Explorers.

Honest review, I think the game was boring as shit for most of the story mode in terms of difficulty, the story is on point and amazing as the original, moreso for making the meteor look like an actual threat.
Now with that said, the REAL game is at post-game. It gets hard as fricking hell compared to the original, I was blown the frick away by how hard Kyogre was, I literally had to resort to Zapdos like a little b***h to beat him, and unlike the original, you can thread into any post-game storyline by the order you want to after beating Kyogre. If you liked the original you are gonna like this one, highly recommend it.
