Every fricking time I load up hoi4. Pisses me off to no end. Completely ruins any challenge when the AI constantly erases divisions dropping them unsupported far from ports
The ai actually attempts to encircle armies instead of just grinding away at them. Not to mention planes can directly attack tank divisions so there you can actually be punished for trying to hammer-anvil everything with tanks the whole game. Also terrain and weather matter a lot more in hoi3.
Playing as the germans, the AI would often leave the Maginot line open, so I would just declare war and invade France through the empty border. HOI4's AI might be abysmal but it's still miles better than HOI3
It "understood" game mechanics of the game it had to run. So you would be hard-pressed to see tanks in mountains or bullshit 2-bat divisions on the frontline. And more importantly, it understood how encirclements and air bombardment worked.
HoI4 AI just draws a line and push along it, with randomly assigned troops that it keeps reshuffling over 40 different fronts it made. All while hiring more and more commanders the second it can afford them and constantly designing new divisions, each worse and dumber than the previous one.
it wasn't.
>AI lands in province with two divisions.
>Encircle and destroy.
>Repeat until AI has no manpower.
AI's strategy was challenging to OP.
AI actually attempted to do naval invasions in HOI3.
Am I supposed to just pretend every games Dday and Japenese Mainlain & Americas island hopping invasions never happen and pretend Hoi3s Ai is better?
Last time I played HOI4 the ai refused to do naval invasions.

Played this over 700 hours and never had anything similar happen
no way. someone lied on Ganker(nel) so they could claim something is shit? i cant believe it.
I know Hoi4 also has something like this where sometimes the AI will just leave the entire frountline in the middle of a war.
Lol you’ve never played the game
>itt: GoY$ insisting everything is as bad as their shitpile to cope over how bad it is and how incapable of moving on they are
>and how incapable of moving on they are
>he says while sucking off a game thats over two fricking decades old
Kys.
Because they went with the maxime:
>If you can't code it, script it!
The guys modding HoI3 like BICE, not the devs. Those guys are moronic.
Hoi3s AI did math to determine where it sends what troop
Hoi4s AI draws a line and randomly assigns soldiers to it
Hoi4 opens its anus and invites the player to take a closer look. Hoi4 players are very excited by this.
