The only thing that has me extremely cautiously optimistic about this one is the fact that they've already announced that there will be no CoD 2023, which means hopefully that support for this one will last a bit longer than the usual one year cycle.

2019 + Warzone is unironically very good. Cold War had a good campaign and the weapons were good in Warzone. Multiplayer was shit. 2021 WW2 game was fricking trash and it also killed Warzone.
MWII looks to be a better version of 2019 in every way. If I were you I'd blitz the single player of 2019 and maybe do some rebirth Warzone games to get a feel for how the BR stuff works. Unfortunately all three multiplayer games are fricked to hell and back and basically unplayable at the moment. So don't touch any COD MP other than Warzone rebirth on either rebirth island or the new map.

this is kinda true? but also not. If you ignore the fact that woods and mason are a billion years old for combat operatives by the 80s they try to make it fit with black ops' story. Dunno if it retconned BLOPS II. Even zombies, which they almost completely reset I think (didn't play 4 or 3's past the first map), was supposed to fit with the old story by introducing its richtofen as the child one from the last saga in a new dimension.
tl;dr cold war is still a reboot but also acts as a direct sequel unlike MW2019
for me, I'm no sick of it because I stopped seriously playing COD after Black Ops 1 and dropped it entirely after 2 hours of BLOPS II. So 2019 was a welcome return and since COD has been in the gutter for 2 years now I'm happy to get back into it again.
