I bought a brand new (factory sealed) Sega Saturn game. Games are meant to be played, so I'm making this thread to make all the coomllectors rage as I open it.

I should note that this is the special edition that comes with a folder and a Saturn memory card.
Here is the disc.
The manual is separate from the actual CD case. You can see the CD still has it's factory sealing, proving that this wasn't resealed.
I hear SFC was a classic?
Tokimeki 1 is a PC Engine CD game. It was ported to Super Famicom in a heavily truncated form, dropping voice acting and a lot of events. Even the intro got rewritten to be less flashy. Later the game was remade for PS1 and Saturn as Forever with You, with the PS1 versrion being considered as a definitive version by many, while the Saturn version got some unique quirks which made it an interesting port.
The PS1 version came out before the Super Famicom version did. The starting years in the PCE, PS1 and SFC version coincide with the year they released in.
I forgot to mention that the guidebook is used.
Peeling off the sealing
I haven't decided which label to put on the memory card yet
I checked mine and I seem to have gone with the full-cast sticker
Also apparently I drew an aiai-gasa with my name and Saki's name in the contents/memo part
My black memory cart also has Hikaru's name from Rayearth written on a Rayearth sticker
I don't remember doing any of this
It's true those are best girls though, sasuga 90s me
>Also apparently I drew an aiai-gasa with my name and Saki's name in the contents/memo part
This was heartwarming. You are such a cutie, Scott.
>Scott
Who
the name written on the green cartridge, スコット, next to the character name 沙希
Oh lmao I'm on my phone and didn't bother zooming in.
Scott, what's your story?
>Scott, what's your story?
My story is, TokiMemo only gives you three characters for your first and last names so I can't fit Scott or スコット ;_;
Thank frick there's a kanji option. I got Segagaga in the mail last night and I popped it in to make sure it worked. Searching the kanji for my name in the menu felt super weird.
Then again even without kanji I only need two characters... Well, my last name needs four without kanji.
Are you by any chance a member of the gayaids generation?
For "Scott" I don't know if there's a good way of writing that with kanji. Closest I can think of is maybe 巣骨董, which looks moronic.
Just use your japanese alter ego anme
Just get creative and have fun with meanings bro
須惚人
壽乞人
No idea how extensive the jinmeiyou lists are in tokimemo though. I know I couldn't find 樽 in certain other games and had to settle for 弛 when entering 里弛堂 (it was either that, or really stretch it with 足).
>須惚人
That's a good one.
>Best girl
I'll be the judge of that >:)
Better than the version you EOP's are playing. How can you judge when you can't even play it?
How long have you been using/learning Nip?
Scott's been using Japanese since at least the mid-1990s.
I took my first Japanese class in college in 1991
I lived in the U.S., bought them new from a U.S.-based import store called NCSX (who seem to still be around, ncsx.com)
I had a U.S. Saturn at first and that top cartridge in the photo is a region-free cart so I could play Japanese games on it
TokiMemo was high on my list of games I was interested in and if I'd known the Saturn version was going to end up coming out a year later than the PlayStation version I might have gotten a PS instead of a Saturn
But Saturn introduced me to elf's games so in the end it was for the best
Did you live in Japan in the 90s or did you import these when they were still new?
You’ll probably play this for like an hour max and never touch it again.
I will play it for however long it takes to clear the game. This is one of my favorite genres and this game is considered one of the GOATs in that genre. I never had a chance to play it until now though and I happened to find this for $30.
Apparently when this game came out in Japan, someone called the Konami hotline and asked what all the girls cup sizes were.
In an admirable display of hard work and resiliency, the call center representatives asked around and got exact measurements for them.
That's funny. Dude must have either loved the game or loved his job in order to do that pointless extra work.
The deed is done
So clean
nice phone case you mentally ill freak
Why are you not black?
Thank anon. I enjoyed the pics
Good 🙂
Putting a game in a cum jar? Please, only Little Samson.
Cum on it next to really show them
Make sure you snap the disc in half when you are done playing it. That will REALLY show the boogeymen who is boss.
>one of the worst versions of the game
The Saturn version? Even if you prefer the PCE original, surely Saturn would still be 2nd best
Plus only Saturn lets you experience this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VhKdjA4ghc
They took the trouble of recording a bunch of extra lines for the Saturn version just so the player could hear the girls hate their guts if they pissed them off enough? Wow.
Normally TokiMemo is a game about getting a girl to confess to you, and whichever girl likes you the most is the one who does it at the end (assuming at least one likes you enough), but the Saturn version added a bonus option to go confess to one yourself instead, which means you can pick any girl you want to try it on
So how they react depends on how they feel about you
Maybe I'm just being lacist, but why is sameface so damn common among jap artists?
The original was released for the PC Engine in 1994. It was remade as Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You on the PlayStation (1995), Sega Saturn (1996) and PC (1997) with a new opening video, improved graphics and sound, and new minigames.
It is also on the Super Famicom.
Quite based.
Dude what, it's the best version. Literally PSX on steroids.
>faster load times
>more scenes
>better sports festival minigames
>PSX bath scene visuals but with less steam
>has PSYTH
Nobody gives a frick you opened some worthless visual novel only panty-sniffing otakus give a frick about. Open a sealed copy of Taromaru or Panzer Dragoon Saga and then i'll laugh at you
If I had one of those I would open them too. Also it's not a visual novel, it's a dating sim.
>not a visual novel
>a dating sim
Literally just a shitty pathetic visual novel for lonely weebs. Have fun, I guess.
Why not just make up a name and set Scott as your nickname?
I remember using some sort of Japanese names that had meaning related to my real names
But I don't remember what I did with the nickname
If I played it again these days I might try that
>coomllectors
You sound like a homosexual.
>i bought a sealed copy of something they still have a shit load of copies of
Open a sealed copy of Cotton 2 or something if you want to piss speculators off. I appreciate the idea though.
How much does that go for? I would open any sealed game and play it, I don't care what it is or what the resale value is. I'm a gamer first and a "collector" second. My "collection" is my library.
so you're BTFOing coomlectors by not only coomlecting but wasting money on top of it? good job moron. id have more respect if you made a youtube channel where you burned sealed games or something, instead you're the very thing you hate and you're moronic on top of it.
>you are the very thing you hate
I don't put sealed games in a plastic tomb and auction them off. I open them and play them. You're a moron.
you're literally wasting hundreds of dollars to play the same game you could play on an emulator or with a used copy. you think you're owning coomlectors ezcept you literally are a coomlector and all you're doing is losing massive amounts of money. yeah no you are the fricking moron here my guy.
>you're literally wasting hundreds of dollars to play the same game you could play on an emulator or with a used copy.
I spent $30.
>all you're doing is losing massive amounts of money
Considering that it's a 50 hour game, I'm getting more than an hour of enjoyment for every dollar I paid. That's well worth it, and a value that even a lot of brand-new games can't live up to.
>you literally are a coomlector
I'm a gamer with a sizeable library. I'm not a homosexual who puts shit on the shelf to collect dust or seal it in a plastic tomb.
Good work, anon, I hope you enjoy it.
Don't worry about spiteing people though, they aren't watching. You just enjoy your games
Enjoy, bro.
Personally I don't buy physical games at all. As you said, games are meant to be play and downloading them online will allow me to do that, even on my hacked physical consoles.
If you wanted to play the game you would have just downloaded it and burned a disc
This. Whether or not your destroy something preserved, you’re still a shitty coomlector, OP. You’re just a self-loathing one.
> mildly irritating Ganker threads
Based, just opened a sealed Dreamcast controller and memory unit last night and offered go satan. I got to take out the pull tab of the memory unit and hear it BEEP for the first time then the screen displayed the date/time setup, default was 1998.
My collectorgays live an eternal hell of buying video games and not playing them
May*
>collectorgays are bad
>but I paid probably 10x what a controller and VMU should cost to one of them so I could open a shiny new box!
I buy all my shit second-hand. It's cheaper, and works just as well.
It was $30
Why would you assume I bought them?
>I buy all my shit second-hand. It's cheaper, and works just as well.
Wow, look at this genius
Doesn't opening factory sealed products, marginally increase the value of those that remain sealed? Thus making "coomlectors" slightly richer?
Op is too dumb to understand supply and demand.
>coomllectors
have a nice day cancerous subhuman
Frick mods for not autobanning you subhumans
Imagine being upset that someone opened a game and played it.
Let it rip.
Dead diary, today OP was based and enjoyed his game.
