Unless you’re Shrek or Wladimir Klitschko the Duke is simply way too big and bulky. Only homosexual hipsters or people with Ogre hands actually fondly reminisce over that thing.
The size profile is perfect, though. It's deliberately that big to keep the tendons in a relaxed state and reduce cramping over long play sessions.
Compare that to some tinydick controllers like the Switch, where you'll be cramping up within a half hour. Frick that.

I held my original duke and the hyperkin duke side by side and they feel the same apart from the sticks being less stiff on the hyperkin.
might just be a me thing but i feel like these hyperkin controllers are more fragile than the original, i know this since i dropped the duke many times before and still had it working fine after

I did actually try the 8bitdo Ultimate and holy fricking shit it's tiny. Extremely uncomfortable between the size and the straight-down handles, I don't know how it gets so much praise. Returned it the next day and it's a shame because the charging dock is fricking great.
What's the issue with the Series controller face buttons? I don't play any intense games but I never had any input problems
The contacts underneath are diagonal and don't overlap, so if you press the button wrong, you get a physical feedback click but it only presses half the actual contact and doesn't register. Not everyone deals with it because obviously everyone presses buttons differently and Microshit's QC plays a part in it, but the A button in particular is really prone to it because the button is almost free-floating without plastic to brace it since it's right on the curve of the controller, and they don't have raised surrounds like a 360 pad to ensure everything is pressed directly down. Especially pops up if you 'rock' between the A and B or X buttons, e.g. jump is on A and action is on one of the side two, you'll miss jumps or jump early if holding it. It was a problem with the Xbone controller and they didn't change it for the Series and it's fricking STUPID because companies figured this shit out 30 years ago.

I haven't thought about the Duke in like 20 years. I remember not liking it, but I was also a teen so my hands might've been too small.
I just want an Xbox One controller that doesn't have the shitty face buttons. Smaller than the Douk but extremely comfortable and the new Xbox Series controllers are too small and feel like extra-Chinese plastic.

unfortunately microsoft hasn't bren licensing their wireless tech for xbox controllers, if you're on PC at least I can easily recommend the DS4 if you need wireless functionality.
