They've only decreased their employee counts as far as I'm aware, so that doesn't add up.

I think it's very obvious some AlphaDream devs are working on this, the character design and gameplay are just so identical to the 3DS entries that I'd be surprised if someone else replicated their work that well, it has all of the nuances.

Only tactical RPG I'd ever played was Fire Emblem Awakening but I enjoyed that so I figured I'd probably enjoy Mario + Rabbids, especially with its positive reception. I played a few battles and felt it was slow and boring. Got stuck in the first area and stopped playing, haven't had any desire to pick it up since.
Had no interest in the sequel, aside from thinking it was kind of cool to see Rayman come back.

Bad level design, games are just hallways in isometric 3D, Totally fail to utilize the extra dimension. Levels are independent setpieces (islands in Brothership). To the point you can get a similar experience in 2d side scroller if the devs wanted.
The open-ish main map was gone but the actual areas like Chuckola Forest or Hooniversity or Joke's End and the rest were all very linear
I just played through ss and it was mostly very linear, definitely not "open world".
Superstar Saga just had a central hub that connected all the linear areas you visit and those areas looped back around to the center of the Bean Bean Kingdom. Yes it's less linear than the later games but calling it a psuedo-open world is a bit of a stretch.

Theres very little to discuss based on a trailer, the game launches this year.
There's not much to talk about other than that it looks pretty solid. The Bro attack shown was a little slow but it's hard to say if that'll be the usual pace or if that's just a starter one.
Are there going to be jump and hammer-based Bros. Attacks and item-based Bros. Attacks? That's what it seemed like in the trailer, but combining them seems kind of weird considering that all the previous M&L games besides SS just used item-based Bros. Attacks.
They might have different use cases, or that item based ones could be rarer rather than being something you spam every turn.
