4k is currently so pixel-dense that only the latest most expensive hardware can push 30-40 fps. And thats for games that SUPPORT 4K output, so your COD-Trans-Fortnites
According to the poors, you can't play at 4k without upscaling, and the 4090 can only do 30fps at 720p. It's all shilling by indians who can afford better computers than them.
>4K is just a meme that no one should be adopting for PC gaming.
I've used 4K since 2016 yet homies will still say it's too early. Never trust Ganker on anything hardware related.
lmao this fricking troony cope again.
First it was HD because >CRT's had better response times
then it was Full HD because >720p was good enough
just recently it was QHD because >1440p is just a meme res just get a 4k instead
Now we're unironically calling 4k >a meme that no one should be adopting for PC gaming
Maybe if game companies would stop hiring Pajeet Games Inc. and actually optimise their games instead of relying on AI upscaling tools like DLSS, we'd be able to play new games in 4k with todays cards. That's where the problem lies.
Yet it was completely disregarded mid 2000's to early 2010's because it turns out people actually prefer clarity over milliseconds that nobody ever realised was a thing until esport gays needed something to blame their inadequacy on.
TVs have way more latency so they're worse for games, and actually, they are more expensive in general.
Why? A monitor is just a screen, it's only function is to show images, they have one or two types of connection usually. A TV needs a sound system, a digital receptor/converter, better software to handle all the functions, actual processing hardware including cpu, ram, and rendering processing units because they have android systems built-in now and codec their own video, and they need a zillion types of connections from analogs to digital, and ways to connect to powerful sound systems
>TVs have way more latency so they're worse for games, and actually, they are more expensive in general.
You do realize most people can use google and look at the prices of monitors compared to TVs right?
You're likely looking for the most expensive monitors, while also looking for dumb cheap TVs
I actually bought a monitor recently, and because I am not a homosexual that cares much about latency I thought about picking a TV. The price difference is fricking huge, so I setled with the monitor
>OP states monitors are too expensive >I suggest look at cheap 4k TVs >Well you must be looking at the most expensive monitors!
You've confused me with OP

I mean, if you really want to go expensive, the sky is the limit for almost every single product. I can search and find a keyboard that costs way more than a monitor and television together
I'm talking on an average here

That's nice but I didn't ask, OP did. You should try responding to him sometime.
I connect my RX480 8GB to >4k >1080p >1440p >1080p >1080p
one 1080p screen is a drawing tablet that I've recently purchased despite never having drawn properly anything prior
I have a 4070 on 1080p because 1440p monitors got too pricy
Not a bad choice, i get 60-100fps in the witcher 3 next gen on max settings. Of course thats an optimization and RT thing, this card will last a decade
Holy shit how do you live with yourself. Even that Windows 8.1 PC I don't do any real work with has a 960 in it...
4070 anon here
I was using an intel hd 630 before i upgraded. I 100%ed some games on 683x384. Before that it was a 1030 ddr4
I really wish i had a 750ti back then
I finished cyberpunk on some weird resolution with fsr...and RD2 strangely enough worked pretty well with an overclock and manual editing the settings.
It's been a good companion and but not having full dx12 killed it.
Best strategy is to buy a $300 card like a 6750xt and save another $300 when a 4090-tier card drop in a couple years with better instructions and lower power requirements. There's not a single game worth spending 2k on a gpu.
heh RTX 4070 also 1080p though it is likely little more resonable than 3090 on that resolution.. Then again why not? I am happy with 1080p and i can run everything on retarted setting.
i connect my 4090 to a 1080p monitor, I just really hate fps drops and 4k monitors r too expensive.
>4K
1440p is the target resolution for that kind of GPU, not 4K. 4K is just a meme that no one should be adopting for PC gaming.
4k is currently so pixel-dense that only the latest most expensive hardware can push 30-40 fps. And thats for games that SUPPORT 4K output, so your COD-Trans-Fortnites
Just a post full of lies here. Try actually understanding what you're talking about and having experience with it.
I comfortably play at 4k with reasonable settings on an RX 6800. 4k doesn't require a high-end GPU.
According to the poors, you can't play at 4k without upscaling, and the 4090 can only do 30fps at 720p. It's all shilling by indians who can afford better computers than them.
same here with a 3080, majority of games run well above 60fps + dlss is a godsend for 4k
>”my game runs fine at 4k if I use upscaling”
4090 does 4k 120fps even more with dlss.
Try again, you poor poor poor person.
I use it as my preferred form of anti-aliasing on a 2070 and there is nothing you can do to stop me.
>4K is just a meme that no one should be adopting for PC gaming.
I've used 4K since 2016 yet homies will still say it's too early. Never trust Ganker on anything hardware related.
It's a meme because he can't afford it.
>have a 4K TV
>have a 3090
What's stopping me? Other than dragging my PC into the living room, I guess.
I just don't think I'll get anything worth writing home about. I already play games in 4K on the PS5.
>I already play games in 640p on the PS5

But people have been saying CRTs ARE good tech, though.
Yet it was completely disregarded mid 2000's to early 2010's because it turns out people actually prefer clarity over milliseconds that nobody ever realised was a thing until esport gays needed something to blame their inadequacy on.
I have a 4k monitor and I'm on a 3070
Its not really a problem except for newer AAA games. I'm running Fallout 4 max settings at 4k and getting 60fps.
Same but 1080p tv I do it just when I have friends over and tell them it's 4k.
Nobody can tell the difference
4k monitors are several orders of magnitude cheaper than a 4090
Mine was $700 more expensive.
Not ones worth buying.
4k? more like 4gay amirite?
1080p, more like 1080 men peeing on me, amirite?
1080pee would have been funny
you tried
>Monitor
Buy a TV anon, they're dirt cheap.
TVs are bad for anything other than viewing stuff.
So you're a moron, got it.
What are you doing besides viewing on a monitor?
Nothing, but WHAT you view favors different types of displays depending on the content. TVs are bad for stuff like doing productivity work.
Its a monitor anon, you're stuck in some moron logic.

i connect my dick to you're moms prolapsed butthole
I do something similar. Only I downsample from 4k to 1080p.
Hm...maybe I should try that with 1440.
Dunno what I'll get out of it but it would at least give my GPU a little more challenge.,
The pixel density is insane. You also don't need AA.
No you don't , it goes into the motherboard first
>He plugs his monitor into the motherboard
Everyone point and laugh
Like hell it does, eat shit.
I play Pot of Greed.
I connect my RX480 8GB to

I hope it does Anon.
I'm on a 750ti and was thinking of finally upgrading to an 3060 the jump will be amazing.
>I'm on a 750ti
Holy shit how do you live with yourself. Even that Windows 8.1 PC I don't do any real work with has a 960 in it...
Like I said I'm upgrading.
Also my rule for upgrade is usually 10 games I want to play don't work...and I'm kinda breaking it.
Don't bother. Any games worth playing run great at 320x240 low on that 750Ti.
4070 anon here

there's no observable difference between 1080p and 4K and anyone who says otherwise is lying. 1080p is peak.
I would show you the difference, but you don't have a 4k display and wouldn't be able to tell.
I connect this to a 1440p 240hz monitor, and only play games I'm capable of pushing 200+ fps in.
Wow, bro. That CS Go will be bussin, fr fr
>1440p
>200+ fps
So indie games and online slop for brazilian kids?
You connect it to the bottom of your trash can.
It literally says it's for 3090p on the box, but you connect it to a 1080p monitor? How stupid are you?
>Got a 4080 today
>1440p 165hz
Frick 8gb of VRAM
