I fricking hate turn based Yakuza.
I wish Like a Dragon just never happened, or that it came out as a brawler.

they should have called it something else and just let yakuza end with 6.
also judgment 3 when???
Why would you even turn a kick ass action brawling game into a boring ass jrpg? like i don’t get it, and i really don’t understand why the community just accepted it
>i really don’t understand why the community just accepted it
trust me a lot didn't, the only ones that enjoyed this fricking trash consisted of newbies and consumers that will eat a pile of shit if its branded
Die 0gay
Let's be honest now, Yakuza game always had bad gameplay. People play those for the wacky gimmicks and j-drama
The game that revived the series.
Every Yakuza brawler had combat issues. Every fricking one. Cameras always at weird angles where you couldn't see shit, controls jankier than their karaoke timing, it was always something. At least the turn-based system actually function at full efficiency.
While I disagree, I think Kasuga's moveset would've been really fun for a brawler and that makes me a bit sad.
you babies cry about the JRPGs when we've gotten fricking TWO of them meanwhile brawler fans have both judgements, the Ishin remake and Gaiden since the shift to JRPGs. you're eating good, quit crying you massive babies
There's 48 brawler yakuza games. You haven't played them. And you're complaining that just one of them is turn based?
>just one of them
fricking dipshit
There should be a full-on music rhythm RGG game.
I like it tbh.
It's not perfect, 8 combat spiced it up a bit and patched over some issues so it's less XIII-like.
They turned the series from a mediocre ARPG into a solid JRPG in a contemporary setting.
It was the perfect move really.
As someone who fully supporred Kiryu going away for like 4 games now, Ichi fricking sucks, this gay saccharine I always win because of some homosexual indominable spirit of friendship shit is exhausting and I hate it. Kiryu may have had the exact same plot armor but at least it didnt feel like a frickin episode of Naruto
>mash buttons until you get carpal tunnel
or
>calmly push one button at a time
Yeah I’m thinking turn based is better. Feels good to not be an ADHD turbosperg.
>one battle is over in 20 seconds and allows for hype as frick boss battles
>one battle against low level mooks is 3-4 minutes and boss battles consist of ichi stacking the dont die in one hit move and the orbital lazer
Ill take Brawlers 1000 times
>it takes 3-4 minutes to finish a turn based battle
skill issue
In 7 maybe
In 8 they group nicely
The spinoffs are all brawlers and own you whiny homosexual
Judgment 3 doko?
After the spinoff: Judged Mint.
I like them both equally and they’re still making the brawlers anyway
Ichiban is a really one note character so far. I have no idea wtf they’re gonna do with him going forward.
theyre going to introduce his birth dad and his birth twin brother and Ichi is gonna SO EPIC CRY MANLY TEARS and then he and nanba again and seako again and adachi again will go dismantle the corruption at the local post office YATTA!
They already did the correct genre switch 13 years ago, but then reverted it for some reason.
there is a mod to make this shitty game into real time combat. Sadly there is no mod to remove this 40 year old virgin moron, or fix the shitty stories.
I thought it started as an April's fool joke and they just roll with it.
Yakuza 8 flopped in the West
>sales in Japan and Asia seem to have made up a big part of this momentum, as Yokoyama notes, “The game is incredibly strong in Japan. Sales in (the rest of) Asia are also quite strong, but the momentum in Japan is even greater than in the past.”
https://automaton-media.com/en/news/like-a-dragon-infinite-wealth-dev-surprised-by-unprecedented-speed-of-sales-and-big-change-in-sales-pattern/
I sure hope thats the case. They need the endless western eceleb pandering to bite them in the ass.
That article's AI-generated.
good
>Judgement 3
>Maijima Gaiden
>Saejima Gaiden
>Akiyama Gaiden
>New Spinoff
Which is coming first
Probably the "New IP" since they've apparently been working on it and we already know it exists. Then I'd assume Akiyama Gaiden what with all that teasing in 8.
Yakuza always felt like a JRPG but with a really bad 3D brawler combat. It has numerical stats, experience points, and even "random battles". The change to full on turn based wasn't that surprising to me.
lol imagine being bad at Yakuza combat of all things. lmao
