It's a solid game, anon. I'm still pirating it but will buy it when it's like 50% off one day. The next 'big' patch is something to do with modding support so perhaps then your wish will be granted. There are a few modding sites that specifically have shit like 'removal of black people' or 'gays removed' etc etc that cater to the 4chins audience.

How does it fall apart? I agree that act 3 is the weakest but not for "falling apart", but due to how more-or-less everything is in the one area. I'm a big fan of exploring, lots of different environments, dungeons etc and Act 3 is too hemmed-in for my liking. But also I dislike the entire premise of the story. The whole emperor/dream guardian is way too forced and in your face and unless I'm missing something, you can't even really avoid it--are you even allowed to kill him? Granted I much prefer older BG and lore where mind flayers were a rarity, a myth, even. BG3 they're shallow.

Anon pls, act2 starts to railroad you so hard that you either choose to just have an hours upon hours long combat gauntlet, or a really linear infiltration arc that ends up feeling worthless, this is also where the story goes from classic fantasy to power ranges tier shit, especially when the three champions end up pulling a care bears assemble move Infront of you.
And act3 is so bloated by their moronation and boring 50 man fights that the lack of further progression genuinely makes the slog that much worse.
At least the games pretty though.

And those fights are atrocious, so many fights that take long not because theyre tough, but instead because they're bloated by enemy count.

aside from the shar fight, which ones in particular? There's the prison break I suppose, but ideally you'll be delaying them, not fighting them.

once you get past the bridge it's fine. If you really don't want to do the sidequests, you can skip to the end easily
id like somebody for once to actually explain what makes the game good. Because the dialogue is garbage, the combat is garbage, and the exploration is basic...so what is the appeal exactly? Sure dicerolls can give momentary dopamine. But I could also just get that in an actual good CRPG like Disco Elysium that doesn't bother with moronic tedious combat.
Really good graphics for what it is, while you say exploration sucks it beats out the better and more beloved RPGs by virtue of letting you move around more creatively, the voice acting is pretty damn decent even if the subject matter is boring, the combat can be good when it doesn't feel like it's taking to long and the animations don't make you feel like youre driving with a rusty gearbox.
This however doesn't make a fulfilling experience like say Dao, bg1-2 or mask of the betrayer, nor does it ever reach the satisfaction of Vtmb.

I love DAO, BG 1-2, NWN 1-2, VMTB and i think BG3 is easily in the top 5 RPGs ever made.
You play really fricking slowly then, BG2 is where the time investment is gonna hurt you though, it feels like theres a new quest or area around every corner.
