I'm not a mouth-breathing moron so I simply play what I feel like playing
the problem is that I already payed for the games! I should've done that probably.
Paying doesn't mean you need to pay. It's not a checklist.
Just buy the things you like to play. Ever if you never get around to it in your entire life at least then the option is there moving forward whenever you feel like it.
I have over 1800 on mine. It is all but guaranteed I will never play most of them but I only bought them because I thought I would like them and wanted to make sure I could do so at any time I might feel like doing so.
It's the same thing with my cards. Take YGO for example. I only have like 4 decks I regularly use. But I have put together over 40. And I have over 30,000 cards just in playset copies. Will I have a use for this many cards? Probably not, but nothing forces me too. They're just there in case I feel like putting any of them together or maybe an old card comes back into the limelight.
I have a couple more decks I am in the process of putting together and a handful more I'm thinking about putting together but I don't have a deck backlist. That's just silly.

First off, think about why you're buying games. It's probably because you like the idea of them so you're really just collecting games that you think are good or well made. Even stuff that you feel like you should play but never bought, for one reason or another, it's probably that you just want to feel included or like you're a real gamer. You need to deal with these feelings.

I can't cope with my backlog.
This is after hiding few hundred more games I know I won't play again.
Quite a few I already played/finished before but I want to give them another try.
And the image still doesn't have everything and I bought few more games since making it.
I have 2 to 3 main games at any given time. I'll only buy something on sale if i fully intend to play it at least once.
Just... stop buying new games until you've beaten all of the ones you have right now? I swear, steamies are some of the worst impulse-buyers out there. The moment they see "70% off" they HAVE TO get that game, regardless if they're actually interested in its premise or not and regardless if they've played the demo and liked it or not. Which is just what Gaben wants. Now, if you had a physical backlog of games you could liquidate it faster by reselling some of them, but since it's all digital you have no option like that.
