Look for used copies, I would say it's worth the 40, but realistically no game is worth over 20. But it is the best shooter ever in my eyes.
I guess i should keep looking for used copies. I'll probably only play the campaign once.

It's an average game with a pretty great story. And no, I'm not talking about that bullshit "HURR DURR ITS DIRECTED AT THE PLAYER LOL U R BAD 4 PLAYING VIDEOGAMES!", I just mean it's a good story about the main character, Walker, and his descent into madness.
A few loading screen tips don't suddenly make the entire videogame directed at the play, ignore Ganker being autistic.
My main issue was that it was such a rote military shooter mechanically that I could be bothered to play the game long enough for the game to tell me that I shouldn't be playing it.
To be fair though, that is sort of what they were going for. I know that's kind of a cop-out excuse of "ITS SUPPOSED TO BE BAD", but it's not really bad. It's just as generic as possible for the sake of the image it's trying to fool you with.
I don't blame you, but I would say the story makes it worth it, assuming, again, you're not approaching it with the "PLAYER IS BAD" mentality.

It's not even really trying to do the whole "FUK U 4 PLAYIN GAEM" thing, it's more taking the typical FPS experience and taking it seriously instead of dime a dozen COD badass power fantasy. Because in real war, things can go south really quickly and you can frick up REALLY bad and people will try and ignore it. I mean look how the military basically just kind of ignored the fact that they drone striked a humanitarian worker in a bunch of his children not too long ago because "oh we thought he was da bad guy, oopsie daisy." That Walker and with Willy Pete.
Sure in the background you have your npc buddies effectively shaming you, but you're supposed to side with Walker and his "it was unavoidable and we need to keep moving" rationalization. You're supposed to just downplay everything is play everything as irrelevant as opposed to dwell on it, which is when "do you feel like a hero yet?" is supposed to hit you. Because at that point it's not trying to shame you, it's more like the voice of a younger brother who knows modern military shooters are supposed to be Gung Ho badass manly hero CALL O DOOTEE but never actually has seen one, and is watching the game all unfold, disturbed and wondering why none of it feels like a what he heard these games are like. Surely there's a turning point, right? R-right?
