I just replaced the left drifting thumbstick on my vita.
Man this piece of shit takes so long to download games using pkgj. It seems to stop the download when the screen is off.
>3DS is pretty good but I think Vita aged better tbh
Nah hard disagree
Most of vitas catalog has been ported to better hardware like the Switch, but I still find myself going back to play 3ds all the time because the games were made for that unique mix of features so emulating or porting them is pretty shit
The vita is very generic compared to the 3ds, which is why it was so easily replaced by the Switch/ Steam Deck for portable "almost console tier" gaming. The 3ds library is very unique and tailored for the console so it will always be worth going back to play
>The 3DS library is very unique and tailored for the console
True
But the thing with the Vita is it's the last true "handheld" console, since the switch and deck are way bigger then it and the 3DS. I may be a little more bias towards the Vita since I've frequently used a 3DS since 2012 but for me, the Vita ages better as time goes on, while the 3DS gets ~~*slightly*~~ worse as time goes on, I don't think the homebrew scene for it will get better
3DS homebrew peaked pretty early, hard to get better than a CFW that works around nintendo's kill efforts within five minutes of updating
the only downside is no FRICKING virtual boy emulator
Cfw on 3ds is basically perfect so there's really nowhere left to go. It does most things better than the vita because a bunch of the emulators are built in (snes, gba, genesis, etc) aside from psp and ps1 of course which as vitas only real selling point.
I'm on the opposite side as you, I started with the vita and only picked up a n3ds in 2018ish, and I can completely understand why it killed the vita. It's just a far better system to take around with you, the catalog is amazing, and every inch of the thing and ui are pure soul
I have pretty much stopped playing the vita entirely at this point as there frankly aren't many games on it worth playing that are exclusive to the system and I have better options for emulating ps1 and psp
I guess I'm kind of in a weird situation since I just got my Vita this year and missed out on a lot of the multiplats and classics from the PS1 and PSP. Though despite the Vita not having as many kino games as the 3DS, I think what the Vita does have appeals to my taste more(action, fighting, JRPG's, VN's) although 3DS and DS have some really good contenders for those last two though, 999 is so kino. Also, I love the Vita's form factor, so even if a game plays better/has more content on a different console, I still chose the Vita
if sony had waited for the ps4 to release the vita it may have done better
they were still busy damage controlling their reputation with the ps3 until microsoft shot themselves in the dick with the xbone
They bundled the Vita with the PS4 when the PS4 launched. The biggest issues was iphone removing a lot of the reason to own it like the PSP and the software support not being good enough. By 2013 you couldn't rely on third party
they're already paying, considering the fact that it was broken wide open and all of its security measures were defeated. Even the proprietary memory cards were bypassed. Now I get to enjoy paying 20 bucks for 500 gigs of mem card space. Sorry snoy, sucks to be you.
>See playstation portal for the first time >think it's finally a new real portable console for a second >it's actually an abomination of a streaming only device that's not even good at its sole (garbage) purpose

Another day, another thread crying about Sony
Black person I love the Vita
They already did.
PS5 is flopping as we speak.
Impossible Sony always wins and Portal will now sell another 3 million
>turns on airplane mode
Hopefully not
If only
It's not Sony's fault nobody made any games for it.
Sony first party has always been weak anyway.
They will burn for all eternity, mashallah.
I just replaced the left drifting thumbstick on my vita.

All you had to do was buy games for it. I did my part.
Games? All I could find was p4g, VLR, and gravity rush
I bought mine preowned that counts. Also a few digital on sale.
They should use PS5 specs for the Vita 2 when the PS6 comes out.
>Vita 2
If only
what's the point if it doesn't have any games? if you're gonna turn it into an emulation machine, you might as well buy an 'eck
they are
Vita was the last console that had SOVL.
Sony is a massive homosexual for killing it off.
Meh 3ds was better
I still think the vita was the last half decent thing Sony made
3DS is pretty good but I think Vita aged better tbh
>memory cards
>no games
>price at launch
>dropping support to the console early
>shutting down Japan studios
>3DS is pretty good but I think Vita aged better tbh

I wonder if Nintendo's next console will be the first one in a while that'll be unable to get softmodded
switch technically counts for that since all exploits are hardmods, including the early models where you needed a jig or a paperclip

I hope the PS6 does worse then the PS5, I want Sony to have an XBone level of TORtanic
Why does Sony kill good things instead of making them?

What games would you recommend for the PSP/Vita?

joke might be on you since it's basically a PS1 with no L2/R2 and a PSP
It's good enough to emulate everything prior to 6th gen, so it works for me.

I picked up my Vita and was surprised at how small and light it now feels compared to the giant handhelds today.
