Probably just for diagnostics or firmware update tbch
Everything has a computer in it these days... I remember the good old washer with just crank dials and boy howdy did that thing get clothes clean.
The main thing it does is I can download custom cycles through the app. Last one I loaded was a quicker cycle with less water because I just had one thing I needed to clean. It's ultimately a kind of silly feature with minimal usefulness, but it occasionally comes in handy.
If that's an entirely dumb washer, it's probably a serial port using an RJ45 connector, for troubleshooting or loading new firmware. I'd expect that sort of thing to be behind a panel though.
>Last one I loaded was a quicker cycle with less water because I just had one thing I needed to clean
imagine not having dials for the water level
crazy
Modern front loaders like this one don't seem to have this because they sense the load before starting and adjust the water level, run time and what movements they do based on weight and whether it seems to be small items that will be easy to balance or large ones that will be difficult. Selecting a cycle gives it cues, like "delicates" does more soaking and smooth movements at the expense of time, turn on features like steam sanitizing. I also have a "towels" cycle that spins longer and harder because it takes more to wring out a load of towels, and they're generally durable so it can be rougher on them.
>tfw washer/dryer has wifi >text notifications when laundry is done, remote start/stop etc >custom spin cycles and ability to make your own >companion app to share your custom cycles with other users >upload a wash cycle called "TURBO-Black person-OBLITERATOR" with the description "KEEPS YOUR WHITES WHITE, MAKE SURE TO SEPERATE COLOURED ARTICLES" >get banned from my washing machines app
fricking worth it though.

I've got a washer with some smart features but it doesn't have wifi or ethernet, you use a phone app and then tap an NFC target on it.
that sounds cool and unnecessary, awesome. this one is dumb washer but with ethernet for some reason

This was my first thought. OP will find out when it breaks.

Think you meant to say NFT
>zoomer moronation
Plug in a cable and see what you can find with wireshark.
Can't wait for someone to perform an arbitrary code execution and get a washing machine to play Bad Apple
>casuals
That's your problem, you got a casual washer. Next time go for the GAMER XL PRO WEARABLE GARMENT BATHING UNIT 8750.
>us-east-1 is down
>can't do washing, sorry anon
