it's one of the most notable games of the last 20 years and the bad part is that seems to have happened entirely by accident because the devs had no idea how to follow up
I still somewhat love this game, despite its many flaws. It tells a compelling story about learning to accept our mistakes instead of living in the past and ties the main gameplay gimmick to this central theme. Some of the characters are also fairly good.
Overall however the writing is embarrassing and the majority of characters are dreadfully bland. The game also wastes a shitload of the players' time for no good reason.
If you enjoyed Life is Strange even a little bit, but thought "wew this kinda sucked donkey dick", then I would recommend you play Night in the Woods. I played the game this week and the game communicates far more complex and compelling themes with infinitely more likable and real characters and a cozy artstyle. Please if you like slow paced, narrative driven games at all, play Night in the Woods.
Also Zoey Quinn blackmailed the guy who made the game into suicide so pirate it instead of giving money to the people who threw him under the bus.
>Also Zoey Quinn blackmailed the guy who made the game into suicide so pirate it instead of giving money to the people who threw him under the bus.
Huh... what? QRD for someone who heard of this for the first time?
-Zoey Quinn was this dude's gf
-She accuses him of being "controlling" or "abusive" aka he did nothing at all but she puts some dirt out on him to fuck him over
-Dude is in turn completely isolated from everyone in his line of work cause he's a californian gay
-Kills himself
I think the guy's a bit of a wuss for not at least making it a murder-sudoku, but case in point is, the guy killed himself over getting disowned by his social and work circle cause of false (and very mild) accusations. I am unsure of Zoey Quinn's motives, she's probably just evil
It’s the only piece of 10’s media that properly romanticizes the American 10’s without trying to deconstruct it or call it evil. Great atmosphere, cute girls anda fun story. People get filtered by art hoes being art hoes, but they are portrayed honestly and cutely, not as being in the right or girl bosses. Good soundtrack too.
Why is Max such a fucking retard? Never just uses the teleporting aspect of her time powers to prove herself to Chloe, decides to let Chloe's dad die rather than just go back and stop her from getting her back broken, having no better plan at the end other than "Kill best friend or entire town."
Fucking swear the universe gave the biggest dipshit of all time god powers as a cosmic joke.
>She didn't have a picture of that specific time period to do that.
Go back to any moment before it happened, and just call her, telling her to call Max back on this exact day and time. Wheelchair Chloe seemed to be pretty much in love with Max from the second she saw her again, so I doubt she'd forget. Do you know how insanely small the time frame is for a car crash to happen, especially one that leaves a person quadriplegic? Just a few seconds' difference would be enough.
The game that convinced me that a story based game could be good. I liked the weird outsiders perspective on Americana (made by french people). Gave it a magical realism vibe without being so critical. Comfy all the way.
1: Nancy Drew meets Twin Peak in the 10’s kino
BTS: Disappointing but still comfy.
2: Cringe “””””important””””””” game about drumph’s America
True Colors: Back to comfy but more realistic than the original for better and worse.
I thought BTS was kino, better writing, similar style, doesnt waste a shitload of time on nothing trying to be a murder mistery. It's just good. I hated it when it came out but it grew on me with time.
2 was hilariously terrible, True Colors was fucking bland, it has some soul in it but it really doesn't speak about anything interesting, you might as well watch Friends or The Office instead of this drivel
Guess I should replay BTS. My biggest problem with it is I really wanted to be sold on Rachel Amber like I was sold on Laura Palmer in FWWM but I wasn’t really. Maybe time away from it and tempered expectations will work better on a replay.
2 was so bad it almost killed the series, but True Colors was a smash hit. Excited for the next one, I love playing it with my friend we’ve done em all.
You were meant to fall in love with the town and sacrifice something you care about for the good of everyone ala Donnie Darko but Chloe ending was more popular so they’ve since backtracked on their original vision and now the Bae ending has way more content then the Bay ending (comics/callbacks/etc.)
The entire game's central theme is making peace with your past choices, letting go and looking ahead. Null-IQ retards miss this and think "uhh... the town being desstroyed is bad doe, I am american and can't pic up on subtext, so I will just keep doing the same destructive time rewinding bullshit to fix what I fucked up with it"
Letting the town be destroyed is the gentleman's choice, it shows that one understood the core message of the game. "saving the bay" is reserved for pseudo intellectuals who think they have some moral highground.
I dunno, I'm pushing 40 and usually right leaning politically but I enjoyed it, it had heart and nostalgia got to me at points, which is odd considering the game is supposed to be set in 2013, it had strong 90s vibes.
Because you're a chud
all chud tourists back to
>have time traveling superpower
>never use it in any meaningful way
bitch could have won the lottery
If it was a dude he'd use it to rape. I know I would.
>have time traveling superpower
>rape someone
>try to rewind - it doesnt work anymore
epic troll by god
SOVLful writing made it fun,it had no agenda
she's cute; I'll give you that
correct
It’s chud woke leftist goyslop.
Don't play any sequels. Cherish this experience.
it's one of the most notable games of the last 20 years and the bad part is that seems to have happened entirely by accident because the devs had no idea how to follow up
The better question is, why are all the other games the devs made afterwards so painfully mediocre?

I am not the most informed man, but TLDR
-Zoey Quinn was this dude's gf
-She accuses him of being "controlling" or "abusive" aka he did nothing at all but she puts some dirt out on him to fuck him over
-Dude is in turn completely isolated from everyone in his line of work cause he's a californian gay

Oh, you meant the dev of that other game, not someone involved in LiS. Yeah I need to stop drinking too much, fucks with my reading comprehension
>It tells a compelling story
HAHAHAHAHAHAH
read the whole fucking sentence maybe
It's not the story that I like but what it's trying to convey
Comfy atmosphere, good music, cute girls.
These are the only things you need to have a good game.
unironically made me want to transition
Last episode was terrible
wrong
I thought True Colors was Kino
2 was bad tho.
I SHOT MYSELF

Because it's the peak autogynophilia experience.
It was hot garbage.
Annoying characters, incoherent plot and non-existent gameplay.
If you like this game you are everything wrong with the industry.

I do think that Amber is the weakest point of BTS, she doesn't live up to the expectations the stories about her in LiS1
2 was so bad it almost killed the series, but True Colors was a smash hit. Excited for the next one, I love playing it with my friend we’ve done em all.
Why is choosing to save Chloe portrayed as the "bad" ending again? Isn't that what most people would do if they're honest?
You were meant to fall in love with the town and sacrifice something you care about for the good of everyone ala Donnie Darko but Chloe ending was more popular so they’ve since backtracked on their original vision and now the Bae ending has way more content then the Bay ending (comics/callbacks/etc.)
>You were meant to fall in love with the town
Lol who the fuck would fall in love with a bunch of white, hipster NIMBYists
I don't believe anyone actually chose the Save Bay ending. It's all just people pretending to have the moral highground.
Because people are fucking retards, that's why.
The entire game's central theme is making peace with your past choices, letting go and looking ahead. Based and Fuck MatPat-pilled
>*mogs Telltale to death*
I get the hate but definite guilty pleasure of mine. Love the tone and cute girl dorks.
Why is /v so obsessed with movie games? Is it a skill issue?
Good movie.
I dunno, I'm pushing 40 and usually right leaning politically but I enjoyed it, it had heart and nostalgia got to me at points, which is odd considering the game is supposed to be set in 2013, it had strong 90s vibes.
Movie*
I preferred Return Of The Obra Dinn
Max is cute but Alex has ass for days.

Do you nerds not know the purpose of an imageboard?
Exactly was expecting another goon thread
sad!
What is that hand motion supposed to mean?
The game is honest about the retardation of women and they aren’t portrayed as in the right.
It just is
