I don't care that the music is horrible, and I kinda dig the graphics, but the gameplay is horrid. Practically any other pinball vidya is miles better.
I think the music is cool. Except the one everyone hates, Options. That one doesn't sound very good. Though, I like Howard Drossin's music in Comix Zone and The Ooze better.
A Sonic Pinball game is a great concept, I wish they would revisit this idea again. How is the GBA one? I don't think I've ever even seen gameplay of it before.
i love options music
you don't go to many gay furry cybergoth raves eh?

Why nobody cares about this game in the hacking community?
Spinball is a good game but it is too hard compared to other sonic games and that is partly due to the controls, party because the showdown is really a cruel stage.
You learn how to play pinball games and how to aim your shots by controlling the flipper/shooting the ball with the flipper with proper timing. It's not hard.
Yes, I played it the year it was released. Not much different from other quirky vidya pinball games of the era where you have to complete a list of objectives to proceed.
Nta, but you realize spinball is a sonic game with pinball? Meaning there's lots of platforming still involved, and with such just aiming your shots does not suffice. You can change direction in the air and need to.
>The "fixed" versions that are on YouTube sound worse to me.
The real fixed version is the PAL version of the game running on an unmodified model 1 megadrive. They actually bugfixed the game for the PAL release, and made small improvements for the music too:
- Intro track is extended
- Lava Powerhouse is not missing one of the channels
- Options music plays faster, giving it more of a beat
and the megadrive 1 low pass filter makes the Options tune a lot less annoying.
and yeah this game had the most horrifying Robotnik ever. You can actually see the animals being turned into robots in real time in one of the bosses, and at another time Robotnik uses his smelly socks to throw you out of his spaceship.
>i like sonic spinball.
It's rough around the edges but I still like it. Like other anons have mentioned a Spinball 2 that fixed the issues would have been welcome. Love the art syle and Lava Powerhouse is my pick for best Sonic song ever made which is an insanely high bar.
It's literally not bad. Sonic fans just can't into Pinball.
Also, this is literally just what Sonic should have been the whole time. Pinball games first, and platformers second. I'd love to see this done in the engine of the actual Sonic games,
Nah, it's neat. It's the combination of the pinball, and the adventure elements, and the personality of the presentation that sell it.
It's not going to be THE best pinball game for the era, if that's what you're looking for, but those also aren't Sonic games. They generally wont have you transition from pinball, to fighting a boss on the pinball table.
>They generally wont have you transition from pinball, to fighting a boss on the pinball table.
That's generally how most vidya pinball are except they aren't all slow with dogshit music
the only good sonic game
t. stolar
The worst pinball game
I still have no idea how to beat the last level
I loved it at the time but think it's shit now. Not sure why.
As a little bonus game on Sonic Mega Collection I like it, but if I paid RRP for it expecting an actual Sonic game at the time I would've hated it.
No one did that. it was a Model 2 pack-in, bought by many divorced dads for xmas, because it was $50 cheaper than SNES
I don't care that the music is horrible, and I kinda dig the graphics, but the gameplay is horrid. Practically any other pinball vidya is miles better.
the music is the best part wtf
i love options music
you don't go to many gay furry cybergoth raves eh?
Robot farts
This is the most slam dunk concept and they screwed it up so badly.
They make up for in it , in sonic adventure
Are you taking a piss??
The pinball in Sonic Adventure is sooooooooo so so shitty.
>The pinball in Sonic Adventure is sooooooooo so so shitty.
You don't know hell

i wish a mainline classic sonic game had employed darker visual themes like in this one
Spinball or bust, b***hes
I played the PC version and it was garbage, is the Genesis original any better?
>i like sonic spinball.
>frick the haters
>>>
I wish it had a better framerate. But I liked the game overall.
I'm with you. Its fun factor is all that matters. People are way too harsh on it.
the scariest version of sonic ever, dr robotnik is horrifying in this with the music
>screaming robotnik scorpion
Never trust anybody who cant beat the first level of this game. Its moronicly easy yet 99% of people who have played it/shit on it cant get passed it.
NPCs don't know you can aim in pinball
Im not gonna lie i couldn't beat it until I was an adult.
That’s the only Sonic game to have the GEMS sound engine/driver, while Sonic games on the Genesis usually have their own sound drivers.

How do you get good at this game? I've never beaten it and it was one of the first games I've ever owned.
You learn how to play pinball games and how to aim your shots by controlling the flipper/shooting the ball with the flipper with proper timing. It's not hard.
Have you played Spinball? It's really not much like regular pinball games. I love both, but Spinball is so much it's own thing.

Go ahead and name me 3 other pinball-platformer games from that era.
I've always like this song. I was surprised to find out people on the internet hate it. The "fixed" versions that are on YouTube sound worse to me.

I played this on an original Genesis and don't remember the options tune being that bad. Emulation inaccuracies maybe?
That and YouTube's audio compression. Lossy audio compression does not work well for FM synth.
Why does a franchise based on pinball physics have maybe the worst pinball experiences you can find in any video game?
>i like sonic spinball.

homie, it's a terrible pinball game too
There's way better choices for vidya pinball other than spinball which will put you to sleep

Name seventy seven.
bro did you just call Toxic Caves slow dogshit music?
>beat 1st stage pretty ez
>get filtered on 2nd stage
the layout is dogshit and its even worse from what ive seen on longplays
>sonic is all about speed
>runs at 30hz and feels like molasses
How the frick could Amerilards shit up a Sonic game so badly? Even the Brits did better with 3D Blast.
I like it too.
