If you're going to no life it and do a playthrough of each house then Blue Lions, Golden Deer, Black Eagles in that order. If you are one and done, Black Eagles.
I might play a second playtrough, maybe. I'm considering just restarting and playing on maddening since hard mode feels easy.

Blue Lions is a good route to start on. If you want to do a second playthrough then play golden deer for the lore.
I think Blue Lions is the best route to start on. The first act in particular fits better with them than any other house and Dimitri is the only Lord to have much of an arc over the first act.
I'd say stick with them. You'll likely come to like Dimitri more over time.

Be a sword autist. Byleth is completely overpowered late game. This won't be a spoiler but the game gives Byleth a unique class later in game and it sucks ass tbhfamalam. When that happens just switch back to sword autist.

I did Golden Deer > Black Eagles (best girl path) > Blue Lions
Honestly so far I don't regret it, the main issue I have though is how you basically get all the students whenever you're doing a new game+ so it kills some of the feels in the 2nd act.
