I tried playing the original resident evil for spooktober and because you gays said it was so good and soulful and JFC it has not aged well. I would almost argue it is unplayable. It's impossible to run in a straight line and the game doesn't tell you where to go or anything you just randomly walk around until you get eaten

Play the gamecube remake.
gg no re
Black person, we said REsident Evil. As in, the remake.
>Black person, we said REsident Evil. As in, the remake.
If you skip games and jump straight into their remakes, you're a braindead redditor. Simple as.
I sure wouldn't want some Ganker nobody to call me an occupier of a site I've never been to.
That makes sense if you dont think about things very much.
Original resident evil is for memes. Its historically interesting. The remake is sorta goty erry year. I dont even like it much personally but it's a damn fine game.
Loads of remakes suck. REmake is still one of the best of its genre.
A remake could be 100x better than an original game. You're still a tasteless pleb if you skip it because "the new one is better".
You arent a pleb for skipping Marlow's Dr Faustus to read Goethe's much better Faust. Unless you are fricking studying them or some shit. Same for RE.
While there can be value in playing the original Resident Evil, its largely academic value in game history. (Shit was ahead of its time)
If you are actually looking to play a kickass survival horror game, REmake is still one of the best choices out there and is a more enjoyable play. Not saying the original shouldn't exist but if you just want a fun game REmake is the plain pick. Go back and play the original after if you want but I cant recommend starting with it.
All that said I appreciate what you are saying in principle. Videogames just take more investment than movies, it's not just spending two hours watching the original.
Resident Evil games are all about 2 to 3 hours though. And the remake is reliant on the player having played the original for some of the better surprises to work. This is one where the original is a must play before the remake.
Nah, the remake is worse than the original game in every way except graphical fidelity and the shitty art direction even drags that down.
>playing the remake without playing the original
Scum
The OG REmake is good. RE2 and RE3 remake are nothing like their predecessors though. For one, they don't have Water Puzzles.
The remake was designed with fans of the original in mind. There are numerous moments in the game which only work well if you have expectations from playing the original. Telling people to go straight to the remake is terrible advice.
Another zoomer filtered, stick to your games like fortnight
>It's impossible to run in a straight line
I know this is bait, but I'm sure there are lots of zoomers out there who literally can't hold up + square. They should blame their parents for being on all kinds of prescription drugs during conception and pregnancy, and also ignoring their children in favor of surfing on their iphones.
>It's impossible to run in a straight line
You hold up. Imagine being filtered by movement controls.
>the game doesn't tell you where to go or anything you just randomly walk around until you get eaten
Soul. Simpler times where handholding wasn't a thing.
>Soul. Simpler times where handholding wasn't a thing.
And keep in mind RE is trying to be simplified and more straight forward than the completely baffling point and click games that came before it.
First, play remake. Secondly, b***h you have a limited amount of places to go, explore a bit.
I love zoommies getting filtered, wish you had streamed it so we could tear you a new one
I dont know how people can play these gigantic open world games but "big house" is full Black personman levels of incomprehensibility.
Cause the open worlds are baby shit.
The Spencer mansion softlocks you left and right for making the wrong move or spending too much ammo.
Especially in the original.
It can happen but you need to really frick it up.
The part about the original I hate is the old poke and slash hunter decap homies are like a spec ops squad. Luckily(?) very toned down in the remake.
I think that even the remake was kinda strict with the ammo with Chris, i can imagine the average zoomer getting virtually softlocked because of no ammo.
I played REmake for the first time ever recently. It's the first of the OG style Resident Evils I've ever played for more than 20 minutes. I played with classic controls on the hardest difficulty as Chris. I killed like 90% of enemies and completed the game with enough ammo to go through the game again.
Let me guess, because you were mostly using the knife? Not really into the gimping yourself types of challenges and i believe that most zoomers would avoid even touching the knife if they can.
You did good anon
Now do the actual hard mode you unlock after beating the game
>The Spencer mansion softlocks you left and right for making the wrong move or spending too much ammo.
The entire game can be beaten with just a knife or ignoring most enemies. That's the strats the speed-runners use.
>plays a game about zombies
>has the intelligence of a zombie
>filtered by tank controls and no waypoints
You love to see it.
>and the game doesn't tell you where to go or anything you just randomly walk around until you get eaten
Think of the entire mansion itself as the puzzle you have to solve. It's quite fun to be able to do it entirely on your own without a guide.
>It is impossible to run in a straight line
Ask me how I know you're moronic (and baiting)
You have to be 18 to post here.
I bet you used an analog stick, you crusty casual c**t
