Kind of. It was a minor joke in marketing and manuals. It's not like he was farting and stuff in the games and it was all cut. It was a minor gimmick that Sakurai latched onto. Anon, stop fellating Sakura when he would have ruined the gameplay if he had more time to remove bugs aka interesting gameplay mechanics.
Melee is great because it was too rushed to be dumbed down, not because Sakura is a genius at making platform fighters.
And even when you give Sakura more time his games are still poorly balanced and Melee is no different where you need to play mods to make most of the cast viable.
Man you really are an ignorant moron. Sakurai only became a shitter after melee was already out. It is very obvious the fast paced gameplay is deliberate. It most likely had to do with Iwata casualizing Nintendo with the wii.
Not just Sakurai, but all of HAL. I've been going back and playing the older Kirby games recently and it's astounding how good they are both in terms of gameplay and presentation. Kirby's Adventure could pass itself off as an SNES.
Melee came out in Europe in May 2002, so why didn't get include extra content? Luigi's Mansion had an entire Hidden Mansion exclusive to the European version.
Same reason Ice Climbers wasn’t on Smash Wiiu. Sakurai wanted everyone to have the same experience
Didn’t know LM got that tho, maybe I need to play PAL version
It's not. >Chauncey's rocking horses are harder to avoid, since they are larger, zigzag towards Luigi, and travel faster than in the normal Mansion and Chauncey stomps around the crib a lot faster. >In the Bogmire battle, when he appears you get a shorter time to capture him before he disappears. >During the Boolossus battle, when trying to "pop" him, there is a small cutscene where Luigi hops on the Poltergust and you must ride around on it, making controlling Luigi harder. >In the King Boo and Bowser battle, Bowser's bombs sometimes have a shorter fuse. >Boos have different HP, and forty-five Boos are required to reach the Secret Altar, the final room of the game. >Most Boos have more HP, although some have less. >There are fewer health pickups. Locations that always had hearts in the Normal Mansion no longer have them. Hearts that heal 50 HP are much rarer. >Rooms are now darker; this, however, is the same lighting of the game from E3 2001. >There are more normal ghosts around the mansion. For example five ghosts rather than three fight Luigi in The Artist's Studio. >Speedy Spirits and Gold Mice always give up a Silver Diamond when caught, adding an extra 50,000,000G to the maximum possible amount of money. Each Silver Diamond is worth 2,000,000G. In the European Hidden Mansion there are 30 Silver Diamonds as opposed to 5 Silver Diamonds in the European Normal Mansion and other versions. This means that it's only possible to get an A rank in the Hidden Mansion since in the European version 150,000,000G rather than 100,000,000G is required by the end of the game to get an A rank.
why do people consider ayumi as a developed character when she, like takamaru, was axed early on due to americans not knowing who she was outside of japan?
Sakurai wanted to include marth when HAL was developing smash 64, so it makes sense that he wanted to add him into melee AND to promote the fire emblem franchise outside of japan because he like the series so much. Roy, much like the other clone fighters, was an afterthought just to expand the roster and yet again was to promote the upcoming fire emblem game that was going to release on the gba in japan
Plenty of Americans didn't know who Marth or Roy were either.

The intention for the FE characters were that they would be in the japanese release only, but when they were localized to the west the fighters were well received within the team so they kept them in
>Gayumi
Fake news.
Meta Knight would make infinitely more sense here. >Sakurai's special boy >Simple model >Sword moveset (smash devs' bread and butter) >Would reuse framework from Kirby like with Jigglypuff, much more simple than someone like Zelda while also making more sense >Dedede can still be saved for Brawl
Meta Knight being bar none the fastest in Brawl is a clear indicator that he would fit Melee like a glove, especially as a squeezed-in quasi-clone character
I'm pretty sure Sakurai didn't want other Kirby characters in Melee because he wanted other characters to get in, that's why Dedede and Meta Knight came in Brawl and not Melee.
[...]
It would be Sonic, Banjo Kazooie, and the Roman skeleton from Eternal Darkness.
I'm pretty sure Sakurai didn't want other Kirby characters in Melee because he wanted other characters to get in, that's why Dedede and Meta Knight came in Brawl and not Melee.
the only characters confirmed/mentioned to have a chance if the game had more time was Wario, and possibly Dedede,
Literally no characters to check the homosexual furry's autism. This game woulda been very cursed. Though you could say without Falco and Marth being able to check Fox's progression he wouldn't have been developed as hard, it still remains that Fox is god damn broken as hell regardless.
Fox (fox)
Peach (Peach would RAPE in this version of melee, her only hard matchups would be fox/shiek/falcon, with her strong combos vs fastfallers, she would keep fox/falcon in check and probably be fox's hardest matchup aside from the mirror match)
Falcon (falcon's speed vs this roster is insanely good, could potentially be 2nd place depending on peach MU)
Shiek (solid character with chaingrabs/kill confirms on grab on the whole cast, aside from fox being #1, the other top 4 spots are heavily contested)
Pikachu (with a lack of marth to check, pika will thrive off gimping foxes but get bodied pretty hard by peach, could probably be placed lower)
(Ice climbers somewhere around here but with Peach being much higher they would struggle, so they could go down depending on wobbling legality)
Yoshi
Luigi
Samus
Lucas (idk moveset but if he keeps all the tools from brawl like good poking zair and strong smash attacks + combos from nair, melee mechanics would make him very strong, could be higher)
DK (diet jigglypuff, big bair and strong grab game, could honestly be higher as well since he's not totally outclassed anymore)
Mario
Mewtwo
Link
Kirby
Bowser
The meta would probably be heavily fox dependent, like normal melee, but instead of marth and puff checking fox, it would be Peach and Falcon, average tournements would be mostly fox, a few falcon players, a couple peach mains, and one guy playing icies and losing to peach (then becoming a shiek main)
source: I played peach in tournement and beat a guy who beat a guy who beat a guy who beat armada so basically I'm the best peach player in the world trust me
I played the akaneia mod wolf and he honestly felt way too good. every character in melee has some weird shit with their movement you have to get used to (falco's wavedash, marth's traction, sheik's short dash) but wolf just struck the perfect balance.
>I played the akaneia mod wolf and he honestly felt way too good. every character in melee has some weird shit with their movement you have to get used to (falco's wavedash, marth's traction, sheik's short dash) but wolf just struck the perfect balance.
I have heard good things about Akaneia build and how it tries to be authentic to the original with its new content, plus adds three new characters.
But, it doesn't balance the existing cast whatsoever. What is the best balance mod for Melee that would be compatible with it?
Another hangup I have is how they refuse to use the Wolf design from the fricking Melee intro. Smash 2 adapted it in their latest release and they were already taking Smash 2's work as a basis for their Wolf. Both Meleegays and PMgays making offshoot builds of S2 just adamantly fricking refuse to stay true to Melee specifically with Wolf for some reason.
Ultimate uses the best version of Wolf, the 64 version (PM also a 64 Wolf skin). Thank god they didn't keep the atrocious Brawl/Assault/Command version for his probably last appearance in a game ever.
Again, if it wasn't for the clones, this would of been our lineup. It's just weird because the first half consists of no brainers like Bowser, Peach, Mewtwo, and Zelda, and honestly even Marth makes sense when you consider that Fire Emblem was a popular thriving franchise in Japan (he and Roy were also supposed to be removed in non-JP versions of Melee), but with such a limited lineup it's really fricking weird the likes of Sheik, Ice Climbers and G&W got in over Wario, Diddy Kong or King Dedede.
Sakurai loves his gimmicks. Shiek and Ice Climbers both have a unique gameplay mechanic (transforming with Zelda, and controlling 2 characters) that made them a priority over the rest. I do agree though, it does feel ass backward. If there's one thing Brawl did really well, it's filling in the obvious spots for existing franchises.
Brawl kind of bothers me because while it had a bunch of newcomers, it jumped over a lot of the late SNES/64/GBA era characters that would've ONLY made sense in that time in history.
A simple example: Golden Sun had better sales around Brawl's time than Xenoblade did around 4.

sheik is weird on her own but perfect as the hidden character of the game
also my main for years until I got laid and became a spacie/falcon player
really wish they'd balanced bowser and mewtwo a little better but at least DK and Ganon are usable
Sakurai really liked the idea of having Zelda and Shiek as a single character.
Yeah but I always had a soft spot for Toad, it sucks but at least it’s something >Meanwhile, childhood favorites like Dixie Kong and Crash will never get in
It hurts
Seeing this poll and who actually made it in later down the line makes this all the funnier. >Slippy over Wolf >Bond over Banjo >Chocobo, Doraemon, Bomberman, AND Crash over Sonic/Megaman >Everyone above Pit, and then a couple more above Ice Climbers
Pretty funny how it all panned out.
its wild how chocobo could've been in but people would have most likely b***hed about cloud not in anyway. still wish we were in that timeline, want me yoshi vs chocobo
Is there any character at this point that should get into Smash that is a Nintendo exclusively owned character and is from a game that has yet to be represented while this game also being noteworthy enough to deserve a rep?
yes me think lot chibi-robo good rep frick frick. mr miyamoto has good idea and implements to best well at times. i see lot new character but no like this. it good ass it good
>occasionally does such bold shit as slipping sedatives into the protagonist's coffee
directly referencing something she does in-game to proceed with her investigations in an inadvisable way without the protagonist's intervention.
Why is it only Ayumi, Charizard, Wario, DIddy, and Wolf. You know he wanted Sigurd from FE4, Snake, Sonic, and Lucas in there as well right? There were many others on top of that and I don't ever remember him wanting Charizard, Diddy, or Wolf
He didn't want Snake, Hideo Kojima himself called Sakurai personally and asked for Snake's inclusion on behalf of his son's request. Sakurai turned him down because the game was too far ahead of development for that to be done.
>if Melee had 6 more months it could’ve been the all time GOAT
If it had had more time for polish all the jank that people think makes it competitive would have been shaved off.
It is all the more bizarre in that Fire Emblem doesn't even sell incredibly well compared to other franchises in Nintendo's catalog. It is a middle of the road series that is treated like a rock star by Nintendo for what is likely internal company politics and no other reason.
>Melee
Marth: Oldest FE Lord, also most popular.
Roy: Newest FE Lord, shill pick. >Brawl
Marth: Legacy pick.
Ike: Newest FE Lord, shill pick. >Wii U/3DS
Marth, Ike: Legacy.
Robin, Lucina (Clone): Newest FE MC, shill pick.
Roy (Clone): Legacy DLC. Him and Marth debuted at the same time so it's hard to call him a clone really, but since Marth stuck around for every game following, he has more prominence.
Corrin: So new the game hadn't even released yet shill pick. >Ultimate
Marth, Roy (Clone), Ike, Lucina (Echo), Robin, Corrin: Legacy picks in the game where "Everyone is Here!"
Chrom (Clone-Echo): I honestly don't know outside of maybe his "Maybe next time..." line in Lucina's or Robin's trailer, I forget.
Byleth: Latest FE MC, shill pick.
FE was probably going to be a rotating cast in Smash with Marth + Recent MC except Ike was so popular that he get kept around for Wii U/3DS while they added in Lucina (minimal effort) and Robin for Awakening, with Roy as DLC bait and Corrin as just another shill pick. Ultimate being the "Everyone is Here!" game made it so ALL of those characters still had to be in, and them adding Chrom for some reason that I still can't understand and then putting in Byleth as the Ultimate shill pick basically wound up leaving the cast feel far, far too bloated. Way I see it, even if Ike had been phased out, "Everyone is Here!" would've guaranteed Ultimate still had the same number all the same. It feels like a mishandling of the situation, more than anything.
>and them adding Chrom for some reason that I still can't understand
Sakurai outright said he was requested like Dark Samus during their reveals. Probably due to the "I'll have a chance next time...!" video itself though, so he kind of set that up.
That does explain it, then. And with an open slot for an Echo, I could understand slotting him in there. Does feel like an odd addition when combined with the fact the "Echo" tag mattered very, very little in the grand scheme of things, but it is what it is. I wonder if (or more accurately, how) that got mismanaged down the line, with how stuff like Doc or Alph seem like echo candidates but reside in Clone/Costume format. Especially considering how it was first presented and barely iterated on.
Byleth is much less insulting than Corrin. I don't think I'll ever forget how I felt when Sakurai talked about how much his team begged to put that piece of shit in.
fire emblem characters have always been unironic shill picks in smash since melee
obviously, sakurai likes the games too but as the series grew more popular in the west so did the number of reps in-game. it doesn't help that there has been a new fire emblem during both 4's and ultimate's development and sakurai "felt pressured" to promote said games
The PAL version had extra dev time and it's worse so if anything we should be glad Melee didn't have any more development
Melee was, like most other great games in history, a happy accident
I skipped around and saw fox english VA from adventures, and a straight rip of ganon ultimate smash attacks. I know I’m suppose to use my imagination a little but it just looks like shit.
well yeah that israelite thought of ultimate ganon, and also did pure fricking speculation
i can assure you that melee ganon would be more like his oot self if melee had more dev time
With Melee hacking getting more open, I'd love to see if it'd be possible to edit Event Matches and make new "bosses" to make some more exciting Events.
It needs a reboot badly, the series is spiraling towards a bloated mess with little charm beyond “OMG _ is in Smash!” Which gets old very quick.
Say what you want about the first 3 games, but at least they hold up extremely well outside of its roster. I can’t say the same for Smash 4 and Ultimate.
We don’t need 80+. 25-30 is enough and it lets you focus on more actual content for the game itself
>We don’t need 80+. 25-30 is enough and it lets you focus on more actual content for the game itself
If the devs for the next smash got 4 years of development time, would they bring us a roster of 55-60 characters?
I think Ultimate was a flawed game that has potential for improvements. Stuff like actual air momentum, less universal input delay etc. would be substantial gameplay changes in my opinion.
In terms of side modes, there aren't any bad ones present in Ultimate unlike Smash 4, but there's definitely some missing holes. Bring back Smash Run, a Targets mode of some kind, and split Classic mode into two modes, one with Ultimate's format and one with Melee's randomized format (think how later Tekken games had both Story Battle and Arcade Battle modes). I'd say that would be good enough for starters, maybe axe a story mode and just expand on Spirit Boards themselves.
As for the roster, I think there should be a healthy mix of keeping a lot of favorites while avoiding having anything superfluous. Some characters could get total reworks, but I think for most of the cast, having the next installment be equivalent to a big balance patch for them would be sufficient enough for me.
I don't think putting the roster down to less than Brawl's size is the way to do it, and if they did, I'd rather them not even call it Smash Bros, just make it a Power Stone knockoff at that point or something.
The new Mario Strikers game had less characters than Charged and people are up in arms about that game.
Smash just needs a better ratio of single and multiplayer content and I can't imagine it would require a Melee-sized roster, just axe the story mode crap and focus on just making fun side modes, it's clear that WoL and SSE were huge development timesinks
strikers also had frickall content and people expected some level of improvement after 20 years. The game is kinda fun but between the missing characters and nothing to do besides grinding online vs 3/4s similar teams it just isn't what many would consider a good package

The way you move in Melee is so good. It just feels good to play and it's depressing that they never went back to that tight gameplay. Ultimate got close, but even then it sometimes feels like you're floating on the moon at times. This is the same exact problem smash clones have too, they all feel like shit to play.

>Luigi's Mansion had an entire Hidden Mansion exclusive to the European version.
This didn't make it into the 3ds version did it?
No
mega gay
Hidden Mansion is in the NA version too, its just much harder in the EU version.
I literally live in NA and speedrun the game with the Hidden Mansion mode, its in the game its just different.
why do people consider ayumi as a developed character when she, like takamaru, was axed early on due to americans not knowing who she was outside of japan?
Plenty of Americans didn't know who Marth or Roy were either.
>Marth was included to introduce Fire Emblem to westerners
The intention for the FE characters were that they would be in the japanese release only, but when they were localized to the west the fighters were well received within the team so they kept them in
>Gayumi
Fake news.
Meta Knight would make infinitely more sense here.
>Sakurai's special boy
>Simple model
>Sword moveset (smash devs' bread and butter)
>Would reuse framework from Kirby like with Jigglypuff, much more simple than someone like Zelda while also making more sense
>Dedede can still be saved for Brawl
Meta Knight being bar none the fastest in Brawl is a clear indicator that he would fit Melee like a glove, especially as a squeezed-in quasi-clone character
Meta Knight was only in 2 games at the time, one of which Europe didn't get.
Ness was in one game that Europe didn't get when he got added to Smash and then came back for Melee.
Roy had literally never been in a game when he was added
It would be Sonic, Banjo Kazooie, and the Roman skeleton from Eternal Darkness.
I'm pretty sure Sakurai didn't want other Kirby characters in Melee because he wanted other characters to get in, that's why Dedede and Meta Knight came in Brawl and not Melee.
the only characters confirmed/mentioned to have a chance if the game had more time was Wario, and possibly Dedede,
There’s a second video on if it had 8 months instead
>No marth
>No falco
Literally no characters to check the homosexual furry's autism. This game woulda been very cursed. Though you could say without Falco and Marth being able to check Fox's progression he wouldn't have been developed as hard, it still remains that Fox is god damn broken as hell regardless.
>no marth, falco or jiggs
This game's meta would've gone the way of Brawl's if it ended up like this
Tierlist
PAL is the most balanced version of Melee.
Another hangup I have is how they refuse to use the Wolf design from the fricking Melee intro. Smash 2 adapted it in their latest release and they were already taking Smash 2's work as a basis for their Wolf. Both Meleegays and PMgays making offshoot builds of S2 just adamantly fricking refuse to stay true to Melee specifically with Wolf for some reason.
homie the wolf in the melee intro was just a recolored fox
there's a reason why there's no wolf trophy but there is a trophy for ridley
Ultimate uses the best version of Wolf, the 64 version (PM also a 64 Wolf skin). Thank god they didn't keep the atrocious Brawl/Assault/Command version for his probably last appearance in a game ever.
Melee had a fricking weird ass lineup of newcomers when you think about it. And this isn't even counting all the last minute clone characters.
>bowser
>peach
>zelda
>mewtwo
>marth
>sheik
>ice climbers
>mr. game & watch
They had a poll you moronic zoomers.
>Toad STILL hasn’t been added to Smash
Wyd Nintendo?
he's one of peach's moves
Yeah but I always had a soft spot for Toad, it sucks but at least it’s something
>Meanwhile, childhood favorites like Dixie Kong and Crash will never get in
It hurts
Frick off it's bad enough he's adding goomba mook shit now for a franchise that has way too much shit.
Seeing this poll and who actually made it in later down the line makes this all the funnier.
>Slippy over Wolf
>Bond over Banjo
>Chocobo, Doraemon, Bomberman, AND Crash over Sonic/Megaman
>Everyone above Pit, and then a couple more above Ice Climbers
Pretty funny how it all panned out.
Gooey was ROBBED!
Sakurai bias to the Kirby games he did not work does it again!
>Both Geno AND Mallow below fricking Koopa Troppa, Kamek and Goomba
pain
its wild how chocobo could've been in but people would have most likely b***hed about cloud not in anyway. still wish we were in that timeline, want me yoshi vs chocobo
Genogays have been around for a long time
It goes even deeper. Ganondorf was leaked before release.

are there any google docs of smash 64’s release or nah? I love stuff like this
What would you think if he followed the poll more? What if Sukapon or Lip got in instead of the Ice Climbers, or Slippy instead of Falco?
Sukapon had licensing issues aka "adult matters".
Waddledee gays on suicide watch
Gooeychads... We were robbed...
>gooey got more votes than metaknight
He could've been meta defining
This was during a time all Bandana Dee had going for him was a minigame appearance
>ganondorf at the top of the zelda poll
>nearly 5 times more votes than zelda
>zelda gets the unique moveset while ganondorf is a clone
>Darunia
FRICKING IMAGINE
Mr. Game and Watch is extremely based and is basically and original character. It's a shame he's not finished, he would have been solidly mid tier.
Is there any character at this point that should get into Smash that is a Nintendo exclusively owned character and is from a game that has yet to be represented while this game also being noteworthy enough to deserve a rep?
yes me think lot chibi-robo good rep frick frick. mr miyamoto has good idea and implements to best well at times. i see lot new character but no like this. it good ass it good
Your dialect is questionable but I agree with your message
Add Midna dammit.
>tfw completely omit this section of the description in the EN text
Was sagt es?
>occasionally does such bold shit as slipping sedatives into the protagonist's coffee
directly referencing something she does in-game to proceed with her investigations in an inadvisable way without the protagonist's intervention.
Yea a roster that's half clones/lazy movesets is so amazing.
>6 out of 25 is half
Cmon man if you wanna bait at least do a good job of it
I said clones/lazy movesets so it's more like 16/25.
Plus there are more than 6 clones.
Please name all the clones in melee besides Dr Mario, Luigi, Pichu, Falco, and Roy because I don’t think you know what that word means
Also Ganondorf and Young Link
So what? 7? Still not half
Also those tripcodes are weird as hell
Why is it only Ayumi, Charizard, Wario, DIddy, and Wolf. You know he wanted Sigurd from FE4, Snake, Sonic, and Lucas in there as well right? There were many others on top of that and I don't ever remember him wanting Charizard, Diddy, or Wolf
He didn't want Snake, Hideo Kojima himself called Sakurai personally and asked for Snake's inclusion on behalf of his son's request. Sakurai turned him down because the game was too far ahead of development for that to be done.
James Bond was ROBBED
I'm still seething, especially since my cousin read somewhere that he was in the game and kept breaking my balls about not having him unlocked
Beat 20 Multi-men on cruel melee to unlock Sonic and Tails wyd Anon?
>no geno
>no k. rool
>no ridley
>no little mac
ehhhhh
Ganondorf might not be Captain Falcon's grandpa.
goat at what, having a pedophile fanbase? it already achieved that.
>grooming 12 year old boys as a girl
>everyone is a rapist
nice scene, autists
>if Melee had 6 more months it could’ve been the all time GOAT
If it had had more time for polish all the jank that people think makes it competitive would have been shaved off.
Don't forget Banjo and Bond.
Also for someone who can't stop talking about including Lip and Ayumi, I'm surprised he still wasn't able to put them into Ultimate
Fire Emblem reps in
>Melee, 2
>Brawl, 2
>4, 6
>Ultimate, 8
Literally why
Because they're the easiest to develop. Smash 6 will probably have all 3 leaders of the Houses, as well as the main character of the latest FE as dlc
It feels like a mishandling of the situation, more than anything.
objectively this. wish people would understand this simple logic, already.
>and them adding Chrom for some reason that I still can't understand
The series has so many god damn characters I'm sure they could have included 8 of them that weren't blue haired swordsmen
>So many Fire Emblem reps
>No Axe user (Hector), No mage until Byleth, No riders, no villains or dragons
Why?
>byleth
>"mage"
>all her moves are weapon attacks
Are you moronic or did u mean Robin
fire emblem characters have always been unironic shill picks in smash since melee
obviously, sakurai likes the games too but as the series grew more popular in the west so did the number of reps in-game. it doesn't help that there has been a new fire emblem during both 4's and ultimate's development and sakurai "felt pressured" to promote said games
90% of Smash characters are shill picks.
Fire Emblem just has the 'advantage' of having new MCs instead of always Mario or Link.
>90% of Smash characters are shill picks.
you know what i mean, marth and roy were actual nobodies in the west before melee came out
Like Lucas? Or Ness to like 99% of people?
Hell, apparently the Smash 64 development team didn't know who Samus was.
the mother series still was more known than fire emblem back then
Why are you so focused on the games popularity in the west when the game is made in Japan?
because smash isn't a japan exclusive
WTF you talking about, it already is the GOAT.
The PAL version had extra dev time and it's worse so if anything we should be glad Melee didn't have any more development
Melee was, like most other great games in history, a happy accident
>6 more months in the oven
>end result being absolutely soulless
it was a blessing
>more unique characters and stages make a game soulless
Adios
I skipped around and saw fox english VA from adventures, and a straight rip of ganon ultimate smash attacks. I know I’m suppose to use my imagination a little but it just looks like shit.
well yeah that israelite thought of ultimate ganon, and also did pure fricking speculation
i can assure you that melee ganon would be more like his oot self if melee had more dev time
With Melee hacking getting more open, I'd love to see if it'd be possible to edit Event Matches and make new "bosses" to make some more exciting Events.
Melee gays deserve the rope
if it had six more months they would have found and fixed a lot of glitches
what if melee was actually a good game
sakurai post brawl is a hack fraud
maybe even post melee
Sakurai made Kirby Air Ride and supervised Amazing Mirror so it's not post Melee.
It already is.
Should the next smash not be directed by Sakurai anymore and rebooted with a different engine?
I feel like Sakurai will continue but it definitely needs a reboot with a different engine
That pic is super messy. There’s a reason characters are grouped together by series
Ultimate groups them by order of appearance too, and it's fricking obnoxious.
Oh god
Why would Ultimate do that disgusting shit
Because they wanted to make the "everyone is here" a big deal
I wish stuff like that and picking the stage first, which is the worst fricking thing in the universe, were optional
Next game should be quality over quantity.
I would love if the next smash game had a smaller roster, but every character had an intricate, unique moveset and played differently from one another
>27 fricking third parties
No.
Frick off.
If Sakurai had more time he probably would've removed half or more of the shit people love about that game.
did they frick?
>you have to eat all the eggs
>Be israeli
>Lie about fricking your mom on the internet and get caught in your lie
>Drop out of law school and turn your back on potentially becoming a lawyer to make less than minimum wage
>Openly dating and fricking an unpassing, post-op troony that post porn of himself online
>Clearly addicted to adderall and looks cracked out at every tournament
>All while all of this is happening, your dad is dying in the hospital before you eyes
>Nobody is rooting for him anymore, not even the redditors that root for people like Magi

This looks like an IRL basedjak vs. chad image.
I would agree with you but hbox is the farthest thing from a chad
I couldn't find anything on who he's dating. Who do you mean?
QRD? Is evilbox back?
Fighting games are best when they have less than 10 viable characters
any more makes the games too hard to learn
10-12 is a good sweet spot, but sadly we’re in the DLC age so we always have to add in 20 extra useless characters
The way you move in Melee is so good. It just feels good to play and it's depressing that they never went back to that tight gameplay. Ultimate got close, but even then it sometimes feels like you're floating on the moon at times. This is the same exact problem smash clones have too, they all feel like shit to play.
What it really needed was a patch.
I forget the exact quote about how in the 11th hour sakurai had to run to daddy iwata to finish coding smash 1. Smash died with iwata. Frick hackurai
>DUDE MORE SPACIES

Do you think Ayumi has a chance at Smash Bros. 6 thanks to the Famicom Detective Club remakes that came out last year?
I hope so. Ayumi is cute.
Truer words have never been spoken.
if melee had a better roster and stage selection, i would have been my favourite smash game
FRICK SAKURAIS SHITTY HEADCANONS

I watched it, never happens
That's because Geno was never considered until Brawl.
Nah it was fine as it is. I don't like the new games, too many characters and everyone moves too fast.
