Well if I emulate your mom and play her, does that mean I actually played your mom?
I never thought of it like that
if you accurately emulate her

If you build a robot version of my mom that looks as close to my actual mother as Dolphin resembles a real Gamecube, bravo because you've won.

What pitiful losers are in this thread.
Imagine watching somebody else playing the game.
When you can, like, pick a text walkthrough for the game and read last few sentences. Now when I have knowledge of how to beat final boss and what happens after, I beat the game.

>not being able to deduce and mentally render the entirety of the game after reading the title

Said the loser that had to play through themself. I just got the fat kid to tell me the best secret ending. Better than all of you now.
I can concede that emulation isn't how the games were originally intended to be played. Stuff like VC and mini consoles do not count for this reason. They play subtly differently because of the imperfect emulation but are a cynical cash grab and the publishers don't care.
Calm down
>all these Afantasian homies in this thread
I just imagine beating the game AND I also own a copy of the 1985 hit PC game Fantasian that I can imagine beating which makes me double better than all of you.
Nope. You didn't beat the game.
A video game is a challenge to your intelligence and reflexes by the people who made the game.
You have to play the game on original hardware with a CRT to beat it. That's how the game was intended to be played.
You're not allowed to change the parameters of the challenge.
how does he keep getting away with this?

Videogames are made for kids, therefore if you play them as an adult your original hardware and your CRT are irrelevant, you didn't beat them.
what about if it's one of these games? like the San Andreas hot coffee version
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AO-rated_video_games
still made for kids, they're a part of the challenge
>they're a part of the challenge
A challenge of not letting your mom know what you have installed on home PC? I failed that several times, but each time i've gotten better at hiding my stuff. You can only become a pro gamer through polishing your skills.
>Videogames are made for kids, therefore if you play them as an adult your original hardware and your CRT are irrelevant, you didn't beat them.
Not really.
Video games are made for people of all ages. That's why they developed a rating system that tells people what age group the game is for. So people can easily tell if the game is for teens, or if the game is rated mature, etc.
Sorry, but you have to play the game within its intended parameters to beat it.
A video game is a challenge to you from the people who made the game. It's up to you to use your intelligence and reflexes to beat that challenge.
A similar example to this would be if you challenged me to a game of chess, and I accepted. It's a battle between us of our intelligence. But then prior to the match you say "I don't like the castling rule, so I am going to forbid castling during the game."
If you beat me.... I wouldn't consider your victory genuine. You didn't beat me at chess, you beat me at a version of chess that you created yourself.
In order to have an authentic victory you have to accept that the parameters of the game are outside your control.

But what if I didn't beat you? I'd still have the upper hand, as long as I let you win.
This is just cope to justify why you have thousands of dollars of rotting plastic and electronics on display like a reddit user

Playing emulated games is often harder than doing so in original hardware + CRT due to latency. So as long you don't use any features not present in the original (such as save states), you're actually a better player than original gays.
The people who say that only watch video game review essays on youtube and then pretend they actually played it.
emulate all you want. Too many gays don't play games.
Mister is an emulation box
No one is seriously autistic enough to think otherwise. Anyone in this thread who says otherwise is doing so as parody.
In this thread perhaps, but I have seen some startling autism on here over the the years which makes me wonder sometimes.
