The Last Of Us 2 doesn't actually do that. It's 2 people mutually agreeing that they've done enough damage and revenge on each other.

This one was one of the worst offender since the party NEEDED to kill that b***h anyway.

        >party is on a quest to kill all the lords and have already killed 2
        >Introduce a new lord who just killed over 100 civilians in front of the party
        >party member who already wanted her dead due to her past crimes tries to kill her
        >another party member literally runs to block the spell from hitting the villain
        >NOOOOO YOU CAN'T KILL THE PERSON THAT KILLED YOUR PARENTS AND WIPED OUT YOUR ENTIRE CLAN IN THE PAST YOU'LL BE JUST LIKE HER
        >villain escapes
        >OK NOW LETS GO FIND HER AND KILL HER
        >find her after slaughtering her henchmen
        >previous party member has a change of heart
        >IF I KILL YOU I'LL BE JUST LIKE YOU
        >party lets her go AGAIN
        >bigger and badder villain immediately appears to kill her anyway

Which one? Pretty sure Cole kills the actual bad guys, he only optionally spares thugs and mooks if he's Good which is the exact opposite of this moronic trope ("kill everyone but spare the leader")

I think of the sins as reasons people surrender their self-control over to nature. It's not that you're doing something, it's why you're doing it so there's the physical act and the true act which is both intention and action.

The seven virtues work the same way to where you can commit good acts but what really matters is that they are genuine in that you are doing them for their own sake when necessary.

Read Nietzsche, and stop mystyfying psychological phenomenons which have a history as to how they came to be.

By the very merit of evolution, history, hereditarity, culture, social engineering and propaganda, every universally known or aknowledged concept has a history of causes and effects behind it. It evolved over time.

This is true for both personal and mass psychology, or psychology and sociology, as we like to differentiate and intertwine them depending on the subject matter.

If you like chewing gum, asking yourself "Why do I like chewing gum?" will only give you a partial, subjective answer.

What I said is basically how you could separate actions from what they mean and derive categories from that.

If someone rapes animals how do we separate that action from someone that saves animals from rapists without basing our ideas on what other people think because they both could be compatible with a society where those are both neutral or okay actions.

It also separates good actions done in private from ones that are filmed and shown to as many people as possible.

It's not about that. For every action an opposite and equal reaction. You wrong me and I'm going to wrong you. That is the natural order of things.

    >completely missed the point
fricking moron, the others offered to kill Envy for Mustang, it wasn't about sparing him, it was about not letting your emotions take over if you want to be a ruler

But anon, this is literally the only good implementation of that plot point since they literally emphasize that the FMA world goes through cycles of violence inspired by previous acts of revenge. Envy getting killed would've made mustang harsher and more prone to violence

Blame comics. They needed to come up with an excuse to let the villains live so that the can reuse them.

Also, leftism. Rugged individualism is their biggest enemy, and that especially includes people killing criminals in self-defense.
