Nowadays you set up a youtube channel and actually practice the principles of investigative journalism, which as it turns out is a giant pain in the ass for relatively little reward
Video game journalism or journo reviews are useless if you think about it.
We can see gameplay for our selves, download demos, independent game reviewers, discuss other users who played the game etc.
Back then we couldn't do any of those and just read magazines from game journos who played the game.
