yeah, it's great
Pathfinder is not a casual game, it's a simple truth. Ideally you'd be playing it with other people who could help you but since this is a PC game and not tabletop you have to search online.
the other problem is that in tabletop you'd be doing it just for your own character, in this game you have to have an autistic build for like 9 different characters
go mutation warrior fighter. it'll be nigh impossible for you to frick it up.
>click Human
>click Fighter
>recommended stats
Congratulations, you just beat the game. Sorry for your potent moronation.
>5 human fighters
yep, it's gamin time
the one piece of knowledge people will go into the game with is rightly thinking that "recommended" builds in rpgs always suck ass
just choose a class and pick things that make sense and don't try to do anything fancy
just play on beginner difficulty
Pathfinder is the refinement of decades of DnD. Your assessment is correct, now back to the kiddie pool.
>Pathfinder is the refinement of decades of DnD.
All that refinement and they couldn't help but include hundreds of pointless trap options in their system.
Then you’d complain about lack of options or choices being meaningless.
No, I'd rather there be fewer options but for those options to be meaningful ones instead of having an absurd amount of options but most of them should be avoided.
this. Normal people dont want to spend dozen of hours studying build making to start playing the game and to avoid trap options.
DnD 5e has fewer options and there are still traps. I'd rather have more options.
This, it seems like the pathfinder games aren't tuned to their campaigns. Like why the frick would I take anything other than hunt demons as a ranger?
To be honest I wish Owlcat wasn't forced to translate existing modules into a game, especially when those modules kind of suck.
because Owlcat is moronic and the only ""balancing"" they ever did is nerf all the ranger classes and buffed Demonslayer to an absurd degree in this game.
This is what every developer said when they were "streamlining the sequel for a wider audience"
Spoilers it made their games boring and shitty with frickall customisation
PF1 is D&D 3.75.
The entire thing was built on trap options, to where people had tier lists of what classes you should run together to keep things balanced.
Hmm that logic doesnt make sense as dnd 3.5 was the peak of complexity in dnd and 1 and 5 are the least complex. so 3.75 would be less complex. I would say pf1e is advanced dnd3.5, sorry i got autism haha.
You may be autistic but you are also correct sir
Thats why BG3 is a great entry level cRPG. It doesnt have 89123731289732198 different systems and 218793732189732891237198 skills, feats, stats and class branches to consider when making a build. Games like pathfinder are not beginner friendly at all, most beginners end up dropping it because they refuse to play on easy mode/follow the basic recommended builds and end up soft/hardlocked because their builds are trash.
It's also not a novel. Dragon Age: Origins was the first time I played anything like a cRPG.
I then tried playing Pillars and Tides of Numenera and got fed up with reading a novel even when talking to the most mundane of NPCs.
I am an avid reader, but games make for very poor books.
I feel like the wordier CRPGs have a problem where the first sentence of whatever topic they're on about is good enough, then the next 2 sentences are just repeating the information in a different structure, or using a really bad allegory. It creates less than friendly pacing and after some point you just want to move on to something else.
I think it's the content. Every single dialogue in Arcanum is a good read, and I think they use plenty of words. I'd skip kitsune's dialogues even if they had 2 simple sentences per frame.
>Games like pathfinder are not beginner friendly at all
They're just pretty mediocre, really, tiny indie studio bullshit with a peak of 50k players, you can't even compare this shit to BG3.
Surprised mods even allow Meta publishing to keep pushing threads here, it's embarrassing.
>STOP TALKING ABOUT VIDEO GAMES! YOU'RE ONLY ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT THE LATEST AAA RELEASE!
No I'm just sick of seeing threads every fricking hour of every fricking day of this literally who mediocre piece of shit game from a literally who mediocre Russian indie dev, frick off.
There is AT BEST one thread every few days, especially since BG3 came out, cry about it homosexual
They're Cypriot now, it's okay!
Frick you, I'm so fricking glad we got a couple good Pathfinder games before Paizo could finish ruining it.
>couple good Pathfinder games
Here's the thing, you didn't.
Cope
>couple good Pathfinder games
no such thing
based. 1E>>>>2E & 2.5E
cringe
and why would mods delete these threads and not the nintendie and bears sex 3 threads
If you want to spend 10 hs reading some introduction shit to the rules just play in the lower difficulties and enjoy the story + some challenge in combat
Play BG3 then you pansy. You can just click whatever you like and you'll end up with a decent build anyway. It's so piss easy they don't even show you the class progression, just the immediate level up.
I'm serious. Start small if you don't care for studying character building. Or just play on story mode, I guess, but WotR is 80% combat and builds.
>human
>male
>fighter
was that so hard?
>pathfinder is bloated meta-game garbage
yeah, did you make a monk?
please make a new character.
We need a middle ground. BG3 is way too simple and pathfinder is way too bloated. Divinity is the closest game to the middle ground we have rn.
Divinity could have been perfect but it ironically has a bit too much freedom. I enjoy the "class fantasy" of D&D so having everyone be a kind of freeform mish mash of abilities isn't fun for me even if the spells themselves are cool.
>without looking at build guides online
Why do young people instantly resort to shit like this?
I'm not young, i'm a 32 yrs old dude who doesnt want to spend 10 hours studying build making nor get soft/hardlocked in the game because i made a bad build.
>who doesnt want to spend 10 hours studying build making nor get soft/hardlocked in the game because i made a bad build.
Then don't. Just savescum, experiment, and try to be smart with your decisions.
>and try to be smart with your decisions.
Starting with character creation?
dont respond to morons that cant even figure out you can respec.
But that would diminish my gamer cred, can’t let that happen.
Ignore the homosexuals, they're the type of people who pretend to have never used a wiki in a game like FFXI. Basically, they're full of shit.
This. Without using wiki I wouldn't even find Arue after she's corrupted because I failed a perception check and didn't notice that I did. What was with that anyway? You just tell her "ur a deeemoon" then it's CUT and you never get anything unless you visit this random location god knows where. Some real pure shit, I'd say the game glitched but I know better.
>i'm a 32 yrs old dude who doesnt want to spend 10 hours studying build making
You can always go with an autobuild, but at some point you'll have to take at least 3 or 4 hours to understand basic game mechanics because the game is very bad at teaching you. The hardest part is, you're not just building your own character, but 5+ companions too
Just respecc
> but muh difficulty..
Just make a custom difficulty that has core rules except that you can respecc.
Also you might consider mods that remove/reduce corruption and the extremely poor homm mechanics
>Also you might consider mods that remove/reduce corruption
Jesus christ stop beign such a fricking casual corruption is irrelevant
No impulse control. They want the dopamine nownownow.
Side-effect of being born in the digital age.
Nah, i'm 32 yrs old. I just dont want spend 30 hours in a playthrough just to realize my build is garbage and not enjoyable to play or get softlocked.
Then respec at Hilor or better yet sit down and spend like 3 hours reading the ruleset and how all the classes/feats work.
It’s mostly being unable to feel creative with the tools given to you. They’re afraid of committing into something that could frick their game up down the line because then they cannot blame the system.
There is little to be creative with
It's mostly "how do i stack frick ton of modifiers"
Young people have all the tools to waste time as effectively as possible. Give me a reason why they shouldn't.
when you start optimising your time wasting, it's no long time wasting
unless you're legitimately autistic and the very act of optimisation is itself your time waster, in which case, play on
In light of BG3's success, why was WOTR such loathsome, irredeemable dogshit?
Yeah I have no idea why there are so many build options that are just there to frick you over
Is the Trickster path any good? Like properly fleshed out?
Lich with Pharasma as your deity is a better Trickster path than the actual Trickster path.
aside from the crits and persuasion 3 mythic trick power it's shit. not worthwhile in my eyes
Crits is already super powerful and more than worth it.
i am not saying that trickster or any other path is mechanically shit you 4 INT monkeys. i am saying the path storyline is boring as shit compared to the other paths and it only gets good in act 4 and act 5/
>it's shit
You can make some pretty crazy shit, like 100 spell resistance with Stealth 3, or just kill everything by moving with Mobility 3
Yes and yea, but it is better for skillmonkeys. Super duper criticals and enemies commiting sudoku by just looking at you is pretty great
Just play bg3, its a much better game and its not a bloated garbage.
The game gives prebuild characters and automatic levelling for people who don't know the system. I get that people want to play their ideal PC but if you don't know the system the game handholds you through the leveling process and then you just have to focus on learning how to use the abilities it gives you.
Whats the point of playing a rpg if you can cant customize your build??? Just play xcom or jrpgs at this point
Learn the system or shut up then.
Ganker likes to parade themselves are hardcore but piss and shit themselves when it comes to games like Pathfinder.
>Game has massive fricking ruleset to appeal to every flavour of autism
>offers prebuild and autolevel for noobs
>has a massive in game encyclopedia that can be read to learn the system for people that want to learn it
Depth isn't something you deserve to complain about numbnuts.
>pick human
>pick Paladin/ranger/slayer/fighter/cleric crusader
>unga bunga your way to victory while learning about the various different system in the game.
it's that easy anon.
Anyone have some cool fantasy character portraits? I like to base my characters off of them and feeling in the mood for a playthrough.
what do you want to play as anon and i see if i have a portrait for that
Im down to play anything really and play with what I feel the character in the portrait would do. Its a good way to keep a varied approach and play with systems I wouldnt naturally go for. For example, with that one Id probably go with a Legend Fighter/Inquisitor Build. I have no idea if it'll be good but thats part of the fun.
in that case here is portrait i used for a Azata eldritch scion
Nice, Ill add that to the collection as well, he looks cool, thank ya!
stigma witch with some lvls in E knight
Legend cav/fighter
Oracle/paladin gestalt (i know it's op but whatever)
im eating these up, i really appreciate it and the help on the direction of the builds
also here is a instinct warrior barb protrait that i never got to use properly.
Do you have one for Lich?
yeah this one. i used to have one for a scythe eldritch knight lich to but i think i deleted it by accident
Frick at first glace I thought it was a lich doing Raging Demon
i used this one for Lich before i get the mythic portrait
mfw I personally crop photomode/cutscene closeups of my custom characters from other games and rp into that
with this case I went with my Nioh2 character
and yes lorewise Hiddy is part asian divinity
nice, a shame im terrible at creating characters and mostly go default with like 2 changes
honestly, I've been a bit more intuned with how to make attractive faces since the bad oblivion days and I can see how some presets are fine enough for some people
even hair is a hard decision especially for males
have a favorite character creator? the one for Naraka Bladepoint is insane. I wish it was in any other game.
easy one is dragon's dogma, I wish people would appreciate preset individual face parts with some repositioning/resizing then just sliders
Nioh 2 is also unique in a sense that it has 2-4 hair parts for back and front/etc
Different anon, but do you have any good air kineticist portraits? Preferably for an aasimar or elf?
sorry for the late reply but i only have this for a electric one. i also has one for water kineticist if you want
>MtG art
Why didn't I think of that?
Bros I can’t stomach pathfinder clunkiness after bg3… crpgs are over
Same, I restarted Kingmaker 3 times because I was unsatisfied with my build and it still ended up playing like shit so I quit early.
Might give WotR a try but I'm wary of running into the same issue.
shitfinder is a garbage system and owlcucks made it even worse. the game is literally unbeatable without using casters. you can have the most minmaxed martial possible and you will get still cucked by unremoveable permanent duration 50% miss chance just because frick you.
kill casters. behead casters with vorpal swords. defecate in a caster's component pouch. burn a caster's spell book. throw casters into anitmagic zones. critically hit level 1 casters. total caster death.
Should I do Aeon Kineticist or Aeon Sanctified Slayer with dual rapiers?
Aeon sanctified slayer because bane stacks with Aeon bane so you can deal 4d6+2d6+2d6 from crusader edge force damage to most demons+ sneak attack . but i would recommend running a shadow shaman with battle+nature shaman for some extra buffs for sneak damage, dps and being able to tank with various buffs
>planning to use rapiers because he knows he's gonna kill cam as an aeon
kek
i specifically want Shaman as a Aeon because i wanted to kill and bench her early. frick (evil)chaos
>using the meme-singer greataxe
you didn't beat the game
yeah but the damage and crit tho.
It's a bad idea to go dual rapiers with Sanctified Slayer cause the extra Ranger feats of Sanctified Slayer are backloaded, and as a Sanctified Slayer you absolutely want to burn 2 feats in Spell Penetration for Litany of Eloquence.
so what, the only way is to do another boring 2h build with grave singer, or respec into hunter diving hound instead?
Pathfinder is much more balanced than DnD and this transfers over to games using the ruleset as well. Your best bet is summon/swarm spam with Druid or go all in on buffs with Azata
what's the most kino deity for an Aeon
Godclaw pantheon or Pharasma
Torag.
Atheist
Just make whatever seems cool and go.
Unless you are tackling Core it doesn't matter that you aren't perfectly optimized.
And if you *are* doing a Core run on your first playthrough then you deserve everything that happens to you.
>think of a cool character to RP
>build class around at that
why do people find this so hard?
Because pathfinder is bloated as frick. You have 8137193212383 trap options/feats that are useless but a new player will only realize they're useless 30 hours in when they get softlocked/hardlocked. Pathfinder is bloated as frick and a lot of options could've been removed from the game and nobody would care. Divinity is unironically a great middle ground because its not as bloated as pathfinder but its not as barebones/simple as BG3 when it comes to character building.
homosexual. Seriously go frick yourself there are barely any trap feats and they are all locked behind other feats. If you pick mounted combat as a wizard or metamagic as a rogue that's your own goddamn fault.
>I have never played pathfinder on core difficulty or above
Kys, if you believe there are not tons of trap options in pathfinder its because you played it on baby mode where you can pretty much one tap everything.
>Core or above
Frick you. People who have to worry about picking bad feats shouldn't be playing at the highest difficulties and even then picking a bad feat for your character isn't a trap it's just picking the wrong thing.
My very first run of kingmaker was on core and I still managed to not pick a bunch of terrible feats.
There genuinely aren‘t many bad options someone would erroneously choose due to lack of familliarity with the ruleset, at most stuff like toughness which new players might think sounds good even if it‘s actually mediocre.
The mediocre feats like toughness even exist for a reason there's a bunch of ways to get it for free like playing a Bloodrager and getting it as a bloodline choice or as a Kineticist. Yeah it's nowhere near as good as cleaving finish but the filler feats are there for a reason.
That‘s kinda why I used it as an example.
It‘s not a great feat and a newbie is likely to pick it cause it sounds pretty good, but even so it‘s still totally fine and helps your character a little bit.
There aren‘t really any feats which are completly useless in general assuming you don‘t pick obviously useless stuff for your specific build like martial weapon proficiency on a control wizard.
>I have never played Pathfinder
In the crpg trap feats are really small in number and knowing what feats you should pick is almost a no-brainer
Like no shit picking feats related to ranged combat is moronic if you go melee but that should be obvious
post the bawdtiest female portrait you have
>Dhampir Inquisitor of Pharasma
now it's gaming time
is it gonna be funny when you ascend and cuck pharasma from dealing with aleeru?
are rapiers simple or martial weapons
Martial
martial. just pick the courtier background.
Its fine if you do a mono class on Normal. If you change up settings to be higher than Normal, like you take full crits, remove Deaths Door, status effects etc then yeah it gets much harder
It's called freedom, friend. It makes stumbling upon good synergies rewarding. And it makes finding terrible combinations into hilarious learning experiences.
Is the game good ?
yes, unironically. better than BG3 also unironically.
yeah it's good if you have build autism like most of us.
The game is a combination of mechanics and story. The mechanics are perfect and the story is atrocious, so I wouldn't call wotr "good". It's the best we have though.
I have the opposite opinion
BG3 is great, but production values aside, WotR it's still the current golden standard for the genre.
It's the best of its kind.
Only has peak of 50k concurrent players, so probably not. Small indie studio, though.
the frick are you talking about? i did just fine without looking up build guides
too many people think you need to multi-dip 4 different classes when you're not even playing on unfair
literally just play core and have fun
did you try reading the whatever the equivalent to the players handbook is and then picking something you think seems cool and try it out?
the npcs are getting worse.
>did you try reading
that's too hard. i need constant ui pop up and set pieces to explain the game mechanics 🙁
Imagine spending hours of your life reading about builds and mechanics that could've been explained in much simple and quick ways. Not everybody is a no-lifer like you, normal people dont want to spend 5 hours of their life reading a player handbook to enjoy a video game.
Next time maybe pick up game that doesn't take 100h to finish?
just play neverwinter nights
>ability scores and feats are simply laid out
>a handful of functional classes
>pick your poison and go
What's a good build for camcam to do the big damage now that elemental barrage has been fixed?
my favorite is fricking her and telling Anevia to kill her or you could just respecc her using toybox into Shadow shaman for sneak attack if you want
Anevia being able to kill Cam always bothered me. He seemed kinda like a chump to me and at the point you can order him to kill Cam has like 4 mythic levels minimum if I recall correctly.
the game forgets that your companions are also op as shit during their storyline. if this was lore and TT accurate than Regill could have lived forever thanks to his mythic powers eliminating the bleaching, Lann not fear of getting old and rusty, Arue would be a nascent demon lord that could dominate other demons because of how op she is. only time in the story where someone uses their powers is in Ember and Sosiels quest. where Ember can convince demons to become good on the fly and Sosiel giving his brother a mythic powers buff for a one last stand against the demon horde(trever dies)
>spoiler
The best way to do it
sister you should really stop seething about fictional characters
>spoiler
the right way to handle the psycho c**t.
Don't bother. Give her Stone spirit with the second spirit mythic feat and then have her spam Metal Curse all day. It's way more valuable than her doing damage. Then she can also spam summon skeletons and creeping doom which is a good way to control your enemies.
but i didn't do that tho. i just picked cleric Crusader for my first playthrough and completed the game without even knowing that to make spells hit the target you need precise shot. i learned more about the game as i kept playing, i never even opened or read any handibook whatsoever
it is funny about the fates of people who WANTED to die in the war, all of a sudden are ascended by KC and Aleeru's BS
The game literally has suggested paths for abilities and stat distribution. Just pick that and lower the difficulty if you think you will enjoy the game.
yeah, shame to beat a game you need to learn and be good, go play your movies "games" if you don't want to
Bloatfinder lost and BG3 Won. Normal people dont want to spend hours studying a bloated ruleset to enjoy a video game, only no-life losers do that.
>plz just a crumb of attention sir
Thanks for giving it to me.
Why does rtwp filter the normies?
You have to be moronic to not get pathfinder, the classes basically build themselves. There's zero real choice, you either pick spell, melee or ranged feats
>get Outflank+improved crit on all your melee fighters
>pick weapons with an 18-20 crit range
There you go, that's all the build knowledge you need to beat the game on normal
>have the world's best mages and gods at your side
>no way to transfer special or permanently enchant whatever you want
why
if anything can become special than nothing would be special in this game.
Pathfinder adheres to the ivory tower game design of D&D 3.0/3.5. It's filled with trap options and shit classes that are objectively bad in comparison. Monk was so trash in the pathfinder 1e that they had to release a supplement that was nothing but buffs and re-works, and it was still garbage. But, if you like build autism you can still squeeze fun out of it, shame the setting is ass as well.
anyone have some cute female halfling portraits?
I present you halfling barb girl who worship Gorum and run around the battlefield with her huge axe
Why many melee builds take crane wing feat despite not having one empty hand?
Owlcat is filled with morons who can't balance for shit
>I don't want to play a pregen build but I refuse to learn
kys
Camellia is unironically my waifu
Frick cool character portraits, give me meme tier character portraits instead.
for a necromancer
Don't have skeleton race, would Dhampir cleric suffice?
>Don't have skeleton race
>what is a lich?
inb4 not a race
Pedantic homosexual.
>what is a lich?
magical emo phase
Lich mythic path locking me to lawful evil alignment isn't very meme enough and I can't make mercs having their own mythic class.
anon what the frick are you talking about? there is a skeleton
Cogrstulations. You just realized why the whole genre is shit.
my every playthrough is just like pic related. even if am playing a magic caster i want to wear the heaviest armor and do knight shit
>singlehandedly destroys sjw-league
holy kino, what is this from?
ESO
ESO. don't bother it's beyond shit and the fighter got rekted because the magus casted constraining coils and got flanked to death by the barb and the rogue
thanks. sad.
Yeah, just click the premade build button. Play a Wizard or Sorcerer and cast grease, you'll skip basically every fight (including bosses) that have legs. Or just pick a Paladin (I'd recommend Hospitaler for the free channeling buff) and use a two-handed sword. You really can't go wrong with that build. If you want something more complex, play a Paladin/Sorcerer, raise Paladin to level 2 before switching to Sorcerer, and then keep on Sorcerer until you qualify for Dragon Disciple, and then max out that prestige class.
Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous are some of the easiest CRPGs. You just think it's difficult because the UI is really, really shit. Don't drown in the fact that there are 20,000 useless things in the menu that require you to hover over each one to see a tooltip - the game is soo fricking easy. It's designed for you to use RTwP and just watch your guys auto-attack the enemy to death, so don't make it harder than it has to be. It literally plays itself.
is there any downside to just playing as the base version of a class?
it’s usually safer IMO if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Depends on what you imagine your character would be like.
If for example you want to use a two-handed weapon, picking Two-Handed Fighter over the base Fighter seems like a logical choice.
maybe just a dual wielding fighter assuming DW isn't shit in this game
Take this with a grain a salt since it was some time I brainstormed characters and never played DW, but I remember DW Fighter archetype was shit. Look it up if you want to go DW.
>DW Fighter archetype was shit
>dual wielding fighter is great for dps
mixed signals but ill give it a go any still undecided if i should try a fighter archetype though,i see a lot of stuff about mutation warrior being pretty easy to use though
Some archetypes are shit because you lose too many things for pitful gains, in which case it's better to take a base class.
>Two-weapon fighting is often left to Rogues, and for good reason. The TWF Fighter depends very heavily on full attacking, and lacks built-in options to get him into place to full attack. The Two-Weapon Warrior adds abilities which allow the Fighter to make additional attacks after moving, dramatically improving the Fighter’s mobility. With the Fighter’s excellent attack bonuses and respectable damage, this can turn the Two-Weapon Warrior into an excellent Striker. However, you lack abilities which make you a good Defender, so your effectiveness depends heavily on your feat selection and your party’s composition.
Per rpgbot. Unsure how correct this is, and how well it translates to the game from tabletop.
Seems I was wrong, since quite a few archetypes are so-so. Go for it anon.
alright. if you really want to make a dual wielding fighter go Slayer because it allows you get dual weapon fighting and other associated feats for free without the stats tax and feat tax. you would do tons of damage with two weapons+sneak attack from flanking
thanks ill keep that in mind
yes because you will be gimping yourself unless you play on core and above. Demonslayer is better than ranger unless you use mods to make it similar to tt. Magus is not worth it because sword saint is just a better version of it. mutt warrior allows you tank and hit better than the standard fighter etc.
i planned on playing on normal with some things i dont care for changed so would i not really have to worry about anything on that?
nope. normal is okay for a first playthrough of the game. it makes your party deal more damage and enemies have less health and attack too.
dual wielding fighter is great for dps. Dawnflower kiss and radiance allowed me to combo crit Deskari to death
>Step 1
Look at what a class does
>Step 2
Pick things that make the class do that thing better
You think it's complicated because there are a gorillion options surrounding the ones that make your class do its things better, that's all
>Step 3
Realize that feats that you picked doesn't make their role in the party better e.g. picking spell focus doesn't make greater dispel any better at dispelling shit because the game doesn't tell you dispel can only be strengthened by caster level improvements, until you're on the level when you can actually pick the spell
>Step 4
Quit game
>picking spell focus doesn't make greater dispel any better at dispelling shit
Wait, it doesn't? Shit.
Time to proceed to step 4.
>What is Spell Specialization - Dispel magic, Mythic School Mastery - Abjuration, classing into abjuration at character creation, etc.
My point still stands because spell focus abjuration doesn't improve your dispel, that's still 1 wasted feat because you have zero idea how spell scale before you can actually pick the spell.
Thinking of starting up a lich playthrough, though I'm still debating whether to actually finish my sort-of abandoned angel run from about a year ago now because it's so close to the end. I was bedridden for so long that by the time I felt well enough to touch vidya again, autism demanded I start fresh.
On the other hand, I just want to be evil in something. But I'm not really sure what kind of lich I'd want to play yet.
My evil playthrough was really underwhelming. I make evil characters because I want to be challenged by other characters that'd try to confront me about my evil ways and stuff, I want to get in their way and them to get in mine. What I got is a team of low-level trash somehow reaching epic levels while their goals and ambitions remain exactly the same as lvl1 nobody. They're boring when they are good, they're boring when they are evil. And Ember and the SJW girls won't turn on you no matter what, which is a bummer.
I think the only NPC who actually was written well enough in this way was that old paladin, Ciar.
I'll be honest, I don't really give a shit about Wrath's companions overall. Regill is great, and Nenio's autism rarely gets a laugh out of me, but I don't really give much of a shit beyond that. I'm in it for demon slaying commander getting shit done where dollar store Jeanne d'Arc has failed for a hundred years.
>where dollar store Jeanne d'Arc has failed for a hundred years.
I hope you know the dollar store Jeanne d'Arc wins, closes the wound and becomes the Herald of Iomedae.
The game is a fanfiction where they made the PC into the KC for a completely arbitrary reason which makes no sense.
Same goes for Galfrey's betrayal, that doesn't happen in the actual campaign as she is the KC and the PC is send into the Abyss on purpose not out of some made up jealousy.
I say this as a person who doesn't give shit about the cheerleader Saber, but I do think owlkeks did her dirty.
Yeah, but in the official adventure path Iomedae toots you deaf and dumb if you can't correctly answer her special slumber party quiz, so I don't care how dirty Owlcat does Pozzo's silly story.
>Iomedae toots you deaf and dumb if you can't correctly answer her special slumber party quiz
What were they thinking?!
they wanted to show us how dumb most Lawful """Good""" gods act like
>Feeling cute, might invite over my only competent mortal agents for fun and games later, they're probably not busy
QRD?
That's all the qrd you need, she interrogates you and if you give her an answer she doesn't like she toots you and it deals actual damage. It's the most infamous part of the original AP and one of the many reasons why people hate it
Iomadae is dumb and in the tabletop game she would summon your entire party to her domain where she will ask quiz about her life. and if you say the wrong answer, disobey her, try to escape or just say something bad about her she will toot with trumphets that deals 1d6 sonic damage that also deal -4 WIS and -4 INT damage. it used to be trashed and shit on back when the ap released.
That sounds really dumb, she came off as at least decent in her brief appearance the first time I played, but to be fair I was doing Legend.
because this isn't tabletop anon. go grab your friends and play the AP with them to find to suffer the pain.
>to find to suffer the pain.
*to suffer the pain
I love that we can just tell her to frick off and let us complete the Crusade in peace.
sorry did i say 1d6 damage? i meant 10d6 damage
completely in line with her actual character (moronic obnoxious b***h)
I really doubt anyone here is indoctrinated enough to ever play tabletop Pathfinder. It's barely tolerable in vidya form. Barely.
but Seelah does run away if you stay a lich in act 5.and some of the companions(good and lawful) will come to fight and stop you in swarm. also Arue leaving you in demon
Yeah, I will try the swarm. I heard you even kill Ember like that, I can only hope it's her who initiates it. Because that's my main problem with wotr NPCs - they're passive as frick and don't really care about anything. And the most infuriating thing is their backstories help them with it, so I can't even really complain that something wasn't implemented properly.
In Mask of the Betrayer you party outright attacked you if you went too far. Same in Dragonfall, etc. I like stuff like that.
WoTR is written in a way where people allow you to get away with a lot of shit because its all in the name of killing demons and closing the Wound, but I agree that I wish people were a lot more reactive to you doing blatantly evil shit.
spec into archery.
avoid blast casting.
You won the game.
can anyone toss me some half elf portraits
thanks lads keep posting more gender doesn't matter
all me btw
and here is the last one. sorry for posting it very late, was busy cleaning the house.
god bless you anons
another one
this one is my favorite because i always replace Camellia with my own battle spirit hunter and use this portrait every time.
>pick fire brand so allies are immune to friendly fire from fire spells
>pick ascendant element fire to piece elemental immunity
>just realized that means immunity from fire brand too
To be fair, my caster is charisma based so he's not very smart.
Pick martial class , max str con, get power attack
Pick spellcaster, max spell casting ability + con, pick spell pen if wotr, otherwise something else. spam nukes
What's not covered by likeable party members in Kingmaker? I want to pick a class like that
Kineticist, kineticist is fricking moron strong if you micro properly.
>What's not covered by likeable party members in Kingmaker?
>kineticist
You're a fricking moron.
kanera is a woman
>tfw you finished the game before the sex-twin DLC was released.
Monkey
No equivalents:
- There's no dedicated Nature casters in regular line up so a Druid may be nice, and fitting for the setting as well.
- Likewise there's no EKs either if you want some sort of arcane caster with melee stuff and access to lvl9 spells, and maybe some hijinks with Transformation spell.
Replace annoying companions:
- Frontline melees and tanks in general - Monk, Paladin, Sword Saint, Aldori Defender, Slayer, you name it. There's Valerie, but she has a godawful character arc on top of having a boring Fighter archetype.
- You may want to become the party Cleric depending on which way the two available ones rub you, preferably with domains that are not godawful.
- Vivi or some Rogue archetype may be up your alley if you don't like Nig-Nog.
- You could also replace ~~*Linzi*~~ as the dedicated Bard buffbot.
Very clean write-up, thanks. Druid does sound like a cool option.
Got any good druid builds?
>KIngmaker
just pick defender of the true world
>Wrath
druid is shit, pick ranger or shaman for the better nature caster experience
>defender of the true world
Played him, he's average as frick. Ekun, noknok and the goats where dunking on him hard, even tristian with minimal blaster feats was more useful with his aoe fire spells
Feyspeaker if you want to romance Nyrissa. Blight Druid is pretty good if you're fine with being a walking biohazard. True World's bonuses aren't really worth when you can get them from other sources tbqh.
>give up a pet for a shit domain + spores
Nah it's crap. Defender is overhyped but still better.
>- Vivi or some Rogue archetype may be up your alley if you don't like Nig-Nog.
Imagine not liking /ourhero/ Nok-Nok
>why yes, I did use biological weapons at Drezen, how could you tell?
we must go smugger
I like Valerie
me too. as good as the twins are their romance is barebone compared to Valerie i miss Valanon and his waifu autism
>Open a Pathfiner thread
>See Thank you anon! You are good anon!
>Feel happy for a little bit
Hope that autistic frick is well
me too. guy was wholesomeiirc he still post on rpgcodex. don't know why he doesn't post here nowadays
Probably rangebanned/image banned and stopped bothering, I see a few pretenders now and then
One day our waifu scholar will return
Ember is such an insufferable companion.
>teehee we all have the capacity to be good just talk to eachother haha you're not evil you're just hurt
I hate it but I also don't have it in me to play anything that would logically facilitate killing her. Even when I play evil, in my mind it has to be an evil by circumstance/convenience thing, not intrinsically so.
>t I also don't have it in me to play anything that would logically facilitate killing her.
are you going soft on her anon? afraid she make you change with her cutesy words?
No, this is a general mindset. It just unfortunately lines up with her magical power of friendship bullshit.
Ideally I'd have an enchantment that casts silence specifically on Ember whenever she's nearby.
It's okay, anon. You're still a good person, you're just afraid. She likes you.
>is okay with being murdered by crusaders
>just trust me everyone wants to be good
Ember is a bit silly.
Pick inquisitor
max dex
At least 14 CON
At least 16 WIS
Dump INT (inquisitors are moronic anyways so it's loreful)
Dump CHA
pick up acolyte background to do your CHA shit with WIS
Go dual-wield rapiers
Go Aeon to combine Inquisitor bane with Aeon Bane
Larp as Victor Saltzpyre as you have unleash a ton of bane damage with your dual rapiers, which also dispel on hit.
I liked my holemancer Aeon Wizard in WotR, there being so many different Create Pit variations cracks me up
>Played through WotR twice, feel like I've got the hang of things
>Decide to start Kingmaker and use companions with classes I haven't experienced
>mfw Jaethal
What the hell do I do with her? I don't know what an inquisitor's meant to do in the first place and her undead-ness makes her extra complicated. I'm not benching her and I'd like to keep the scythe for maximum edge. I'm thinking I'll go down the Dazzling Display route but is that a good idea?
I went all in on trip with her, she was kinda useful i guess
Make her a buffer and enlarge her so she can attack safely from the backline.
Inquisitor are powerful damage dealers and 6th lvl divine caster that can deal tons of damage thanks to judgment. bench her until you get bane and second judgment and then let it rip!
She's perfect, my meatshield wife. She can't die so I could really not care about her while doing my thing with the main character.
>pick abilities that sound cool
>play game
>win
wow that was hard
yeah i also remember picking disarm and just taking weapon away from demons who primarily uses thier sharp as hell claws and teeth
How unfortunate it is that you only get one ability
OH WAIT
Just win anyway, nerds, you don't have to minmax anything ever in any game
improved initiative is actually really good in rtwp games but you clearly wouldn’t understand why.
It's simple, the enemy cannot hurt you if you kill them before they act
it's also good in TB. i love seeing enemies die by Arue's arrow before they can even react(flat-footed). it's also OP as shit if you give her sneak attack from the spell
I-I think that Improved Initiative, Disarm and Extra Rage sound really cool...
Want to build assassin like priest.
pick norgorbor as deity.
Look at cleric archetypes and domains.
Domains are cool, but cleric doesn't really have archetypes that support sneak.
Look at war priest.
Cult leader archetype is good enough, right?
class has a billion abilities that all require swift action.
class has blessings which do not count for domain zealot.
The blessings share their x times per day restrictions.
war priest can only enhance weapon for x rounds/level, while magus can do it for 1/2 lvl+int minutes.
Fervor is frick useless for evil characters.
Their lvl 20 capstone ability is +5 AB and DR 10 for only 1 minute a day.
Don't argue that there are no trap options when an entire class is a trap.
they purposely trained warpriest wrong as a joke also paladin has a sneak attack archetype
>paladin has a sneak attack archetype
What the frick. Also, am I blind or does Pathfinder now have Blackguard/Antipaladin as a class? Hellknight isn't the same.
There are mods that add Antipaladin, but it's not in vanilla
Not have. Whatever.
Thanks for the tip. Did not know about that archetype, but the alignement restriction doesn't mesh well with norgorbor. I'm probably going with vanilla cleric, vanilla inquisitor or sanctified slayer inquisitor.
Inquisitor has a sneak attack archetype so pick that i suppose
It's garbage and made for autists and woke trannies
Don't build, roleplay. Just BEE yourself. No need to tryhard
what is a good base class for Swarm?
Vivisectionist or a merged spellbook with angel and lich class
can swarm sneak attack? i thought it didnt have any party members so you cant flank
>i thought it didnt have any party members so you cant flank
no it does. you are the party members.
I saw a dude on twitch checking excel sheet on level up and I knew right there I would never play this garbage ass game
I jerk off to Excel.
Good, it's clearly not for you.
Baldur's gate 3 two blocks down
Shank all jannies
why do you hate Aeon so much? you know they work hard to get their yearly pay right.
>pick ascended element fire for ember
>give her the red salamander ring
>give her mallander belt
>give her ring of pyromania
>crossblooded dip
>one extra dragon bloodline
>bolster rod+maximized fireball
>delete entire waves of demons.
it's just that easy. thinking of changing Arue into a Eldritch archer, yay or nay
No because she already hast 8/10 levels in ranger
I am gonna respecc her fully using toybox. but i don't know if having one blaster caster and one hybrid blaster caster would be a great idea.
>I am gonna respecc her fully using toybox
No you won't, toybox uses the in-game respec, you need the respec mod
And if you're oging to do that, blad or skald is the superior option
Give me one good reason why i should keep Camellia alive in any playthrough
>In any playtrough
Well, lich doesn't care about murdering his soldiers, he can just raise them (he will eventually kill camcam)
CE psycho trickster has finally found someone who he can play with.
Demon similarly can enjoy being a c**t with her.
No reason keeping her alive as anything else.
there literally isn't a single reason, but now you're gonna get spammed by mentally ill camtrannies with their ebin reaction images about how their shitty waifu is literally the best
She's useful.
no, not really. aside from casting Barkskin (which i can or even Arue can cast) i don't see any use for her. her tanking is useless, she can't hex better than Ember and Arue & Woljiff can do all trickery check all by herself without any lockpick. so why should i keep her alive?
greater magic weapon and magic vestment? those are pretty great early buffs for the party
useless unless you merge so you can get +4 enchantment as early as act 3.
You shouldn't. as a angelchad you should destroy her when you caught her in the basement.
As a Trickster, I told her I was cool with it then send Anevia to end her.
True trickster mentality
You shouldnt
She is your dear friend. And friends should stick to each other. Friendship is a beautiful thing, anon. Is it not?
>friend has a hidden alignment
>act like a psycho and a c**t to everyone
>does a evil act in front of my eyes
>tries to bullshit about it and tells me to handwave it aside
I can't let that stand. even tho she has been a very good friend in the beginning of the game i can't let her evil act go unpunished
She's just trying to do good, please understand. The spirits aren't like you and me, they have different values. Why do you give someone like Regill a pass but not your dear friend Camellia? It's for the greater good and all that. Is it not?
>Why do you give someone like Regill a pass but not your dear friend Camellia?
because he is not hiding anything from me unlike Camellia?
>every single one of Regil's errands is a secret relationship shittest
>not hiding anything
i am sorry camfriends. you opened my eyes. i will keep Camellia alive now.
Don't worry about that, anon. That's what friends are for. They forgive each other, no matter what. No matter what.
sike, I lied
she's fricking dead
N-never should have today's sacrifice!
b-but i didn't kill her, how did this happen
Must have been the wind.
it just happens anon. don't worry about it.
Will dark urge deliver me demon>legend with Arue kino?
yeah but from what I've heard is that both Shadowheart and Karlach will try to quell it if you romance them both. i haven't played it yet, waiting until the definitive edition
You're being dishonest! The first quest he gives you is one big lie to you. The first real quest Camellia gives you is her telling you the truth and nothing but truth! I'm sorry to say that, but you sound extremely biased, anon.
>pick Angel at Drezen
>see beads of sweat break out on her ample half-elven forehead
huh, wonder why she's nervous?
sword saint bro
You don't need to make a decent build as a beginner because you play the game on normal, as the developers intended.
I mean it isn't hard but just got a really goyslop feel about the game with all the Black folk and the colour coding.
Well, that's pretty much what you will get. It's not that obnoxious though, and the story is crap anyway. People mostly play it for gameplay, which is solid.
Who gives a shit about meta builds? It's an RPG, you're supposed to roleplay.
Plenty of enemies are beyond broken though, so everyone should care about meta builds if they want to actually play the game and not humiliation gauntlet by the devs.
For Pathfinder in particular you just have to play on easy mode. I'd rather play who I want to play than look up meta builds.
How do you deal with concealment for the ranged chars? I can hit pretty consistently in melee with blindfight, but ranged is just miss miss miss. Not even true sight helped.
True seeing?
>its impossible to make a decent build
They made each feat tree visible though, so you can see which feat is next and which feat was prerequisite.
Maybe you're just not good at video games.
What are some classes that don't clash with the cast?
I played Kingmaker with Hedwirg because >Canon but it felt weird to have 2 Fighters in the group
Slayer, paladin, sorcerer and rogue
>don't clash
there is no slayer, paladin or sorcerer companion. i did make a mistake at rogue
suffer not the gobbo to live
>slayer
Isn't the Halfling a Slayer?
>Paladin
The black one
>Sorcerer
actually don't remeber
nig-san are you talking about KM or Wrath? because km doesn't have a paladin companion.
I asked about Wrath because this is a Wrath thread
And this is where you're wrong, buddy. It's just that more people are willing to talk about wotr for some reason.
probably has to do something with wrath being a better game
Because its the image in the OP
Frick the OP! Kingmaker forever!
first of all this is a pathfinder thread. we don't decrement against over Kang brothers and even help them out too. also if you want to be unique snow flake compared to everyone than Sorcerer, magus, skald or a bard
I'm more confused by the amount of scrolls and potions I'm carrying around. Maybe I need to up the difficulty from Normal, but outside of Health Potions and Inflict Wounds Scrolls I haven't used any other.
honestly why wasn't Yozz a companion? guy could have been a great incubus companion imo
>Why isn't random supporting NPC a companion
>why wasn't hand of Inheritor a companion?
>why wasn't Aranka a companion
>why wasn't scothbentoth a companion
>why wasn't Zacharious a companion
because all of them are supporting characters you idiot. go create a custom npc if you want a Incubus to frick so much
moron here. How does elemental engine work? I've been told it has high damage potential but don't see how it's any better than a regular kineticist
it grants extra attack and damage rolls depending on your burn
When at max burn you get double the elemental overflow damage bonus other kineticists get, you also reduce burn costs by 1 at level 3 instead of level 11 (with supercharge) like the base kineticist class.
Best shit for jubilost in kingmaker? This games a lot of fun but frick its so much shit but im starting to get it.
Death for disrespecting the Baron is the best thing for Jubilost.
>NOOOOO MY EGO YOU DAMN MIDGET DON'T INSULT MY KINGDOM
Thin skinned pussy
It was objectively a pretty dope Barony though, and my MC quite literally put his ass on the line 24/7 to make it better for the population.
>It was objectively a pretty dope Barony though
When you first meet him no it isn't, it fricking sucks
>and my MC quite literally put his ass on the line 24/7 to make it better for the population
Yes and you can point this out and he concedes
Alright, I concede. I just hate gnomes in Pathfinder, they look silly.
cast enlarge person on them so they can be fricking terrifying instead
His bombs are fricking busted, focuses on them, iirc they're all good depending on what you want
Focus on them*
Kingmaker doesn't have high resistance enemies so just use whatever bombs you want. the best one is the force one and the curse bombs
>Random crit in your path
wienerblocking the redhead was fun 🙂
Ekun and the gnome carried me through the troll part of the game. Ekun was almost a one man army himself.
Overall, the only companions I found useless were the half-orc and human cleric. The half-orc kept dying no matter what I did when he was in the frontline. The human cleric died the moment he was exposed. Hell, even my pure sorc was beefier than him.
>The half-orc kept dying no matter
Bro your enlarge person+shield+bear's endurance+mirror image+blur?
Do you need to stay chaotic to keep levelling barb?
yes.
Is there still no way to add damage to crossbows?
Like a quarter of the vanilla portraits feature them but they suck as weapons.
>skald
never thought of that it fits her character too and will allow fighting guys get a huge buff too. thanks for the class rec for her bro.
Bard fits better, but skald is objectively superior
I figured out a simple Unfair-viable build that should be reasonable enough to pull off in the actual campaign.
Now I'm trying to figure out if the whole
>Hit once, proc 17 AOOs
thing is still in the game.
Or maybe Lathimas is just a terrible test subject.
Still, I'm not sure exactly, how a PC and their mount are supposed to proc more than 1 or maybe two AOOs per regular attack.
As I'm understanding it, it's just
>attack > crit > AOO from Outflank/StM
Assuming a tripping pet, I can see there being like two AOOs.
How do I get more?
Or is it just about being a Trickster? Do AOOs that crit trigger other AOOs? And I simply don't have enough crit chance on a merc?
>Do AOOs that crit trigger other AOOs?
This, get combat reflexes so you can AoO while flat footed and make as many AoO as your Dex modifier. Everytime someone crits it just creates a domino of free attacks. With the trickster feats and double fortune from Cam and Ember your crit chance is 87.5%
fortune stacks?
Yes and you can use domains too
Yes, I think it's because one comes from Shaman and the other from Witch. Protective Luck also stacks, so the enemy has to roll 3 times and take the worst result when attacking you.
So does that mean evil eye stack too? if i cast evil eye AC and ember cast the same thing both of them give the enemy a -8 to ac
As long as you use two different classes then yes, they stack
Double evil eye for spell saves followed by a Phantasmal Killer / Baleful Polymorph.
Thank me later.
devilish
bro your visions of madness and touch of chaos?
>used to think vision of madness was useful for getting high ab
>only found it now that it decreases your your skill checks and saving throws too
>it also works on the enemies
i am too dumb for this games sometimes.
holy shit why didn't i think of this, investing into shadow shaman was a good idea.
Gotcha. Thank you.
A bit disappointing that it's not as strong without Trickster.
Another thing that's kind of a pain in the ass to test or google, does Leg Sweep "stance" work with Sohei's special Weapon Training Flurry? Or is it strictly unarmed?
If it doesn't work, are there any other ways to make a build that trips automatically? Or is it only possible for animal companions (and via shape-shifting, I guess)?
For meme AOO chains It's like this
You crit >This triggers outflank and everyone else who's in meelee range gets an AOO > One of them Crits off that round of AOO's > This triggers Outflank >You and Everyone else who wasn't them gets an AOO > Someone gets a crit off that > Outflank triggers > repeat process until dead or someone fails to score a crit.
Outflank doesn't stack with StM because a character can't AOO two times simultaneously. The only reason to take StM is if you want archers to join in on AOO chains, but archers don't get flank bonuses and have bad crit range so it's a bad idea to take them if you're specifically fishing for chains.
how much time do you have ultimately? the second curse is gonna pop. Does the game ever let you chill?
It's never going to stop, but it's more than enough time unless you're a moron that slepps after every fight.
Play a better game like Baldur's Gate 3.
if you just play a pure class you should be fine for core rules and lower anon. it won't destroy the game or split it in two but pure class which the game has an auto recommended character builder which is turned on by default will make you something that works but chances are you're a owlkek fan just wanting to bait how hardcore the games are and le epic that is anyways.
Charisma based speallcaster is a decent option.
You get to pass most conversation cheeks and invest in to conversation skills.
On top of also having it as your spell modifier.
Some sub classes let you play stuff like a druid but use Cha instead of wis.
>You get to pass most conversation cheeks and invest in to conversation skills.
This isn't BG3 bro, you have at least three companions that can take care of that, because this game uses skill checks for all of them
I want to frick Vellexia from behind grabbing her from her tail while Arueshalae grows a futa wiener and deepthroats her, that's all.
I was with you until you meantioned arusheale
Why?
don't like her, is all
Shit taste does that to someone, I understand
with evil Arue right?
Of course not
I doubt Arue would agree to frick Vallexia. I mean she was the only demon who somewhat cared for her
she would agree if you tell her it's the only way to fix her and make her good
>mean she was the only demon who somewhat cared for her
No she wasn't, she's well aware about how much of a b***h Vellexia is, besides she has no problem with killing her
Is two handed fighter the best option if I just want to swing around a huge weapon?
a lot of class are better option for a huge weapon. hell a Shaman or a cleric crusader with greatsword proficiency can even swing it better and deal tons of damage
The best option for fighter is Mutagen Warrior, Two Handed Fighter is not worth it as the extra damage is not worth sacrificing the defense.
But yes, you should never ever use a melee character in this game that doesn't ride a pet, cause pets are just too good, so Demonslayer and Paladin are still the best option if you just want to swing around a huge weapon.
It's great for the first 7 levels, but then it decides to shit itself and step away from big dick damage numbers and focus on combat maneuvers that you'll never use.
Yeah, of course. Power attack mythic plus greater power attack is no joke. It's not as fancy as other builds but a pure 2H Fighter can shit out ridiculous damage with the right feats and if you go Trickster or Angel you get even more stuff to pile on top.
Read, homie, read!
I can't even begin to describe how much it pisses me off when custom portraits aren't placed correctly, zoom in on his fricking face like everyone else moron
Portraits on character sheets are half body portraits though
I'm talking about the small ones at the bottom
In fact now that I pay more attenion they're reversed, the middle portrait should be the small one, and viceversa
just like 3.5 in general. you gotta spend like an hour mapping out a character plan. use a builder online. I hate leveling up in 3.5, it just kills your campaign progress.
What are some good multi-classes for companions, if I want a better party without hirelings or respec?
Not just min-maxing autism dips (although that'd be also appreciated) but basically switching into a different class entirely that wouldn't be hurt that much by missing a few levels companions come with, or even better - would synergize with them.
I'd assume making someone a Bard/Scald is basically a no-brainer.
What else is there?
3 zen archer Lann can be turned into any Wis based class. druid, shaman, inquisitor, ranger, cleric. woljiff 4 es 16 vivisect is also good. ember with crossblooded dip.
3 zen archer 17 cleric for Lann
All you can spare as vivi for Woljif, or enough as eldtrich scoundrel to unlock eldritch knight
Making Lann either a Sanctified Slayer or Demonslayer makes sense, cause Zen Archer is a weak class. And both options give Lann a pet. Making Wenduag a Spawn Slayer is another one, since it is a stronger class than base Fighter.
>I'd assume making someone a Bard/Scald is basically a no-brainer
The only good candidate is Seelah because she comes at level 1, but that means losing mark of justice
Ember isn't worth it, she's better of hitting things and using hexes
Daeran can work but he comes at level 4
Arue is the best one but she's even worse in terms of wasted levels
I like Mutt warrior Lann and Kineticist Wenduag, court Poet Seelah is ok if you're playing a DC caster. Nenio usually ends up as 9 Wizard/1 crossblodded sorcerer/10 Loremaster for me. I once did Eldritch Knight Ember to get all the trickster crit feats for her rays, her BAB progression is too slow to get everything, it was pretty good
What was the class of the dude grafted onto MC's soul ?
He's a Wizard
Really? I tought he was a Sorcerer sincr, y'know, special lineage
Areelu was normal women before she become a half-fiend even than she is a witch in game
I see
Was thinking of playing Sorcerer due to that dude but i guess it doesn't fit.
Wizard with low INT. being a sarkorian and being smart at the same time is difficult
I just put it on the easiest difficulty so that my build wouldn't matter.
You can still get away with quite a few bad decisions on normal, no need to go all the way to journo mode.
Can you be a chaotic good lich or even lawful in wotr?
Reformed Melee Lich turned Legend is a very popular build, otherwise you will be forced to be evil if you stick to the Lich path.
>chaotic good lich
lol
>even lawful
You can be Lawful Evil
>CG lich
yes you can also be a Lawful good demon and a choatic evil Aeon.
How do i go about building a dragon shapeshifter?
Sorc gets easy access to the spells but has the shittiest bab, dragon shifter subclass is pretty bad, druid can‘t do it until lvl 9 spells.
Was thinking of going demon then legend or just staying demon so merging isn‘t an option.
Either merge your spellbook or cope and wait one million levels until you can use dragonkind III
Lich Wizard is the only one who can get dragonkind early. Used to have a good Sorc/Scaled Fist /Dragon Disple /Elditch Knight build that gave you Dragon kind 1 as soon as you merged then steam role the game but Owlkek patching Lord Beyond the Grave to not give the PC stats anymore and changing spontaneous merged book to not give early sorc spells anymore killed it.
>all this portrait posting
Anyone got any good dhampirs? Men or women, don't care, I always have trouble finding good ones that feel like they fit online.
What's his build?
>Superhuman strength, resilience, speed and stamina
>Highly skilled in most forms of melee weaponry (excelling in swordsmanship)
>Ability to transform into a bat, wolf, or mist
>Excels in magic spells (Dark Metamorphosis, Hellfire, Soul Steal, Teleportation)
Mutt warrior with a few levels in wiz/sorc for EK. You can use spells for the transformation aspect.
Dhampir Demon into Legend
10 Aldori Defender, Aldori Swordlord 10, 10 Eldritch Knight, 10 Wizard.
>Alucard
>Demon
Shouldn't it be lich? Neither fit anyway, he was never evil
It's all about conquering the beast within. Makes more sense than Lichcel, Azata, or Angel. Trickster... I guess? But not really.
What path gets fricked in the ass the most?
Devil
Dhamps don't get that much love but here
Thanks anon. I really like the first two.
>mythic vampire path
Not sure but if true it makes sense that they wouldn't want to overdo it on the undead paths.
another one
and another and last one. also correct me if am wrong but wasn't there going to be a mythic vampire path but they dropped it?
>a mythic vampire path
no such thing. it was a meme people spouted that thought there would have been a way to turn into a Vampire in the lich path similar to Devil. closest you can get to a vampire is play as a 20 sorcerer/ 20 whatever class you want Dhampier lich->legend.
Is that vampire a man or a woman?
>Fighter/Wizard/Eldritch Knight
Or
>Sorcerer/DD/Eldritch Knight
10 Wizard 10 EK. bonus if you merge with Lich to get extra spells and melee powers
I'll do you one better 5 Wizard/ 10 EK/ 5 loremaster. Get the trickster crit feats even if you're not on the trickster mythic path, divine power and winds of vengeance.
just remember to use all your buffs before every single fight
Oracle or cleric?
Also which deities have fun interactions?
Oracle!
Desna if you romance Arue and Urgothoa if Lich.
Cleric
Erastil
Farmhand backround
How does a single man cuck a fandom so hard?
His scythe reaps waifus
Ok, what's his build and mythic path?
hellknight signifer lich
didn't he practiced dark arts and necromancy? 10 fighter (for heavy armor)10 wizard 10 lich than.
is the "recommended stat picks" option trash or will actually show good builds?
yes and no
yes
Most of the time yes but sometimes it makes baffling choices like puting something like precise shot in the thumbs down section when you're building a ranged character
First, you should play on easy difficult if is your first time
Also its a crpg, its not a good design but you are supposed to restart the game a couple of times until you find what you want to play as
Did Owlcat ever release a summary of how many & of players picked which path and which romance option like Larian?
No, but they have made polls and there are also the steam achievements (although many of them get disabled because fricking everyone uses mods)
I think there were some steam community posts along those lines
Unlike Larian Owlcat doesn't spy on there playerbase. they have done romance poll and only two characters won
>Unlike Larian Owlcat doesn't spy on there playerbase
Because they can't get away with it...
I want mommy Arue to beat me up so badly…
Shame she‘s so restrained
>daeran
why would anyone like and romance that gay? i can understand Arue because she is a semon demon but why would you romance Daeran
female players
no such thing exist.
You wish. Do you have any idea how many women played DAO and romanced pic related? Easily the second most popular option
Women plague CRPGs with romance options just as much as waifugays
regrettable there are women who plays rpgs and even some crpgs. Daeran and Lann are targeted toward that small demograph
Instead of waifubait he's fujobait
Pic related
>majority of player chose to romance a women instead of a men
shocking! it's as if the gaming market is dominated by male customers or something.
>game pushes you hard into shadowheart
>uhhh why is everyone romancing shadowheart
no it doesn't
>bad boy
>is a softie underneath
>is a golden elf half angel
>dark and brooding
>is flirtatious and direct that he wants you
literally the perfect romance for Femoids
women who play CRPGs anon. they exist too you know
I think he's the only well-written party member. His jokes are nice, his sarcasm is okay, his story is good. What's not to like?
Arue's character arc can be put in a single sentence, and that's including her background.
>Arue's character arc can be put in a single sentence, and that's including her background.
Ah yes, as always fujos pretending this doesn't apply to their husbando
Well, at least he has his own agenda. He actively tries to leave your party, he has hopes and dreams outside your current situation, etc. He's a decent character surrounded by Fire Emblem-tier placeholders.
>at least he has his own agenda
Most of the characters in this game do, Arueshalae is doing it for her redemption, Lann is doing it to die like a hero and later on redeem his people, Sosiel wants to find his brother, etc
And those that don't have one still have the "worldwound bad, let's defeat the demons" which is just as valid as anything else
Unless you're going to argue that Regill is bad for wanting to fight them simply because it's the lawful thing to do and he's a hellknight
Redemption and forgiving oneself?
>Owlcat doesn't spy
literally got caught installing spyware on people computers and only backed off when they realized its illegal and EU which will fine them millions of dollars
Larian only released that to engage with the normie players, but you can look the steam achievements you are interested in it
They did some polls on their discord for the romances, most picked was Arue followed by Daeran, Sosiel was the least picked by far. If you go by steam achievements then Angel is the most picked path
where does Camellia lie?
Psst.
Don't sleep on selective spell metamagic.
All those crowd control spells that you thought are impractical or clunky because of aoe are now the ultimate weapon.
Try grease.
does it work on pits spells. i have only ever used persistent metamagic on CC spells like weird and overwhelming presence
Yes.
I can aim spells thanks, I'll be taking the extra 1 DC.
Hot tip for anyone who actually wants to enjoy these games and is not autistic : don't look at the numbers. Literally. just relax and enjoy the game and world without trying to peek behind the curtain and minmax shit. If you can resist the temptation and immerse yourself you will have way more fun regardless of your build
I immersed myself the first time i played this game and now i immerse myself in the number and buff autism of this game.
