Not a genre. They are just WRPGs.

      >Imsims and character action games are my favorite genres
      >They are both dead
      It sucks bros...

Not at all. Unlike RPGs progression isn't stat based, it's mechanic/skill based similar to metroidvanias.

Most of the games in the OP pic use stats or pseudo-stat systems like plasmids and runes.

Even plasmids do something other than just deal damage anon. First thing Bioshock teaches you is how to use electricity plasmid to open the gates. 2nd mission wants you to get incinerate to melt the ice away. Stats in RPGs don't change gameplay like that. In games like Deus Ex this is even more appearent. During the last mission of HR you encounter with a gas corridor. If you have breathing apparatus you can just walk past that. If you don't you have to take a detour.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an immersive sim and it came out not too long ago.

if by immersive sim you mean an rpg with shooting and stealth then sure

Cyberpunk looks very unappealing to me. Art style is just ugly to look at. Also it's a dialogue simulator just like the rest of the CDPR games. Endless talking and talking and talking while saying nothing of substance. I doubt any single dialogue piece has more to say than 5 minutes of conversation you have with Hugh Darrow at the end of HR:

Did the new update make cyberspace fricking cancer or did my second playthrough with 3 Combat difficulty also increase the cyberspace combat?

        Anonymous

Nothing really changed in cyberspace. They claim it did but it didn't.

There is a separate difficulty setting for cyberspace. I beat it on hard for my first playthrouh. It is hard but try harder and git gud, you can do it. U must learn how to dodge and shoot simultaneously, what targets to propritize, strengths and weaknesses of each enemy type

pointless circlejerk genre that can be completely deconstructed simply by anyone with a modicum of intelligence, but it's pointless, because circlejerk culture is inherently irrational, and one dimensionally affirms, rather than substantiates.

doesn't matter. circlejerks will never have or allow for any awareness of anything other than what they need to circularly validate their beleifs.

Nah. I almost want to literally deconstruct every big one right now simply on principle, because I've wrote expensively about almost every big and relevant "immersive sim" but...it'd be a waste of time. Valid arguments don't mean anything here. It's just about agreeing with a narrative or not. That's why outrage bait, and pol bait is so effective.

Votv was mega fun once I learned the controls but so many of the immersive sim stuff seemed to exist only to troll the player and waste your time
