is anyone excited for the Battle Network collection? so far it seems like it leaves a lot to be desired.

I literally just want to know two things
1. Can you make it not look like garbage
2. Why the frick is it not coming out in like October at the latest
Plus, they're being stingy by not just doing Star Force at the same time and making that the "two different collections" instead of this arbitrary cutoff
>1. Can you make it not look like garbage
Define garbage. But for reference it's got pixels mode and lookin' good mode.
Have we confirmed it's a proper scaling? Is there shimmer?
Your guess is as good as mine. As far as I know, the only info known is just what's on the website.
https://www.capcom-games.com/megaman/exe/
Not pixelated enough
SOUL
> But for reference it's got lookin' good mode and covered in vaseline mode
Fixed
>He didn't get the lookin' good mode
Fricking post-rules change tourists
brainlet
You're the one who wants the play with shittier graphics. Clearly you don't have enough brain power to process pixels
I don't like smooth mode in games, but I can stomach it in some cases. Example: while I"m not going to buy it, the way Sonic Origins looks doesn't really bother me. The Mega Man collections are not those cases. Mega Man Zero's lookin' good mode, which they use for OFFICIAL SCREENSHOTS is quite possibly the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
oh nice they finally confirmed it had a pixel perfect mode. they didn't say that in the original trailer (despite people saying it did when they literally fricking didn't.)
Star force is trash who the frick cares
The games need a remaster, not a fricking rom dump. I already have the roms.
I literally have every good 8 and 16 bit game ever on my hacked switch, and they barely take up any space on my 1tb microsd. Pussy.
You are a brainless meat machine desperate to throw away money for no reason. It disgusts me to observe such slave like behavior. This is why the israelites view us all as soulless hamsters in a skinner box.
>og Gameboy instead of SP
barf.jpg
It's free sheckles for zero effort.
>>og Gameboy instead of SP
>barf.jpg
I have a few original units as well as both a frontlit and a backlit SP each. I just prefer the fact that the original is far more comfortable to use, and I am not a slave to a wall charger or rechargeable battery.
>bad opinions
>antisemitic
Why does this always happen?
Go dilate homo. Everyone hates you for a reason. You've been voted off the island.
>dilate
>homo
Let me randomly pick from my bag of epic Ganker slurs, that'll show them!
>The games need a remaster, not a fricking rom dump.
if only the games got a reboot that consolidated several titles into one entry
it's just a compilation of the games (lolupscale), which we can already play. honestly I wish they'd put some more effort into them to justify buying them again.
Being able to play them on my Switch is a justification enough for me
>inb4 BRO YOU DONT HACK IT LMAO
kek, no PSP? no PSvita?
gotta be the oversized overpriced Switch aye
Yeah why don't I drop $200+ to buy a Sony emulatormachine when I live paycheck to paycheck. The Switch isn't overpriced to me if I bought it years ago and I use it nearly every day at work.
I like playing stuff on Switch and I'm not a CEO. Sue me.
>Lives paycheck to paycheck
>Plays his switch at his job all day
>Very passive aggressive defeatist post about own life
Jesus dude
>Very passive aggressive defeatist post about own life
Don't project onto that guy.
>live paycheck to paycheck
>wastes time on bing bing machine
Better start hustling you Black person
You can play the entire GBA library for free on your phone with emulation.
Vimm.net is the safest place for roms.
>bro did u know roms exist?
Wow, I did know that actually. Thanks anyway.
Does it have working online? If so then amazing and I'll gladly get it for PC. If not then I'll just stick to my GBA roms
> is anyone excited for the Battle Network collection?
Personally, yes, since the last time when I played MMBN was about 15 years ago, and my time with the game wasn't great enough, I got stuck and no gamefaqs walkthrough could help me, I had to drop the game just when I really got invested into the plot.
All these years I wanted to give it another go, and now it seems like it's finally the time.
The main problem with this announcement is that it looks like fricking shit.
Bilinear filtering in VBA emulator can do a better job.
I don’t like the “strictly archiving” approach to Mega Man Legacy Collections.
- Leaving the NES and SNES games with “nostalgic” slowdowns, sprite flickering and bugs was a crime.
- Re releasing X5 and X6 with no QoL options to cut down their nonsenses.
- DS games not adapted to single screen
The MMBN one will be the worst of them, not including a single extra mode mixing content from all games, as all the others did, one way or another. It was the perfect opportunity for a standalone online VS mode, maybe with an original internet hub to explore outside of the game’s story, 4.5 style.
They didn’t even bring the improved DS port of MMBN1 ffs
I seem to remember flickering and slowdown both being reduced on the collection. Especially on Megaman 3. It is an emulator collection.
Reduced, maybe, but not gone completely… which they did for the PS1 ports, so it’s hard to justify it.
Hilariously, the flickering line in the stage selection screen of MM3 is right there. Harmless, but very noticeable stuff. Seems like a weird deliberate decision to not improve on anything.
All collections and ports nowadays are just cheap ways to milk money out younger audiences and nostalgiagays.
I am not going to be paying Capcom a cent for something this low effort.
still waiting for a BCC mobile game.
that game was fricking dogshit
Think of it as a weird primitive mobile phone gacha game and then try playing it.
no
>no 4.5
>likely no or shitty online
I had no idea a collection was happening. I've been buying the GBA carts instead and will probably stick with those, as the GBA as a device will most likely survive longer than the Switch does, thanks to not needing OS patching, sturdier and simpler hardware and running on AA batteries. Still, it will be nice that people who missed out on the series for one reason or another will be able to play it now.
It's coming out on Steam as well.
>It's coming out on Steam as well.
I personally do not rent PC games, but it's good people will be able to play the games on that platform I guess.
No, i bought a bootleg cart from some canadian that has all the games in it already and I can play it on my GBA.
I don't really get it.
Well, Mega Man Battle Network Overclocked is a thing.
These games are good but are best left in my memory
Everytime I get the itch to play I remember the long ass tutorials and intro chapters and the necessary 20 hours until you have some competent chips and navi upgrades/styles
why would I possibly give a frick, I have all these on GBA
So umm...i'm a moron and i'm confused by the different versions starting with 3. So it's mostly the same game but...there are two different continuities depending on which version?
Which is the "best" continuity to pick or versions for the later games?
Why can't they just make a definitive version of each game with all the chips, can you even trade between versions in the collection? Is it like Pokemon or are chips stuck in one version of the game? If it's not like Pokemon why are there even two versions.
it actually is like pokemon, there's no different continuities, just different characters/chips in each. there's arguably no "best" one you can just pick the one with navis/chips you like. and yes you can trade, pretty sure you could already do this in 1. with two different versions, kids were encouraged to socialize and trade. of course this doesn't apply to late neckbeards who never had friends so they get mad at this.
I think the 2 version thing is acceptable in Pokemon because it's to encourage trading and you really aren't missing anything by just buying one. In Pokemon you can trade for anything that's not in your version. In Battle Network the Double Soul/Cross forms cannot be traded and the Giga Chips can't be traded, so you are essentially being asked to make a major choice on your playstyle preference before you've even picked up the game. I'll defend 2 versions with Pokemon but in BN it really is bullshit. I wish the collection had found a way to combine versions or let your switch versions mid-playthrough, but I guess that's too much to ask.
I thought the Wii U VC versions had both games in one?
I won't be playing the same game twice for a few chip differences, what's the best version of 3/4/5/6?
See
For BN3, pick Blue, it's the English version of the Japanese BLACK, and updated re release of Rockman.EXE 3. White is the vanilla EXE3, it lacks content such as the Punk boss fight.
BN4 doesn't matter, game blows.
BN5, pick Colonel, it came out in Japan after the ProtoMan version and it's story and longer ending connects to BN6.
For BN6, pick whichever you prefer.
Blue only has 1 additional boss fight, and as for the rest of the content White has different bosses here and there and chips. it's not a case of one being better than the other.
People will tell you that you have to play Blue for the FolderBak chip but let me tell you right now that if you need to use the FolderBak chip you are not building your deck efficiently to start with.
It's not necessary, but it's fun.
I'm going to have to politely disagree with you for BN5, if you pick Colonel you miss out on not one, not two, THREE of the cutest girls in the whole series. (One of whom is actually playable!!!)
I think Team Protoman is a fine, fine choice.
If they restore the cut content from the Japanese releases in English it will be worth it.
I’m kinda sad they didn’t include the Star Force/Shooting Star titles. The Zero Collection had the DS titles, so I was kinda hoping this would too, but I’m still happy for the Battle Network people out there for finally getting an update.
hopefully capcom doesn’t let the localizers censor it too bad.
I've got Mega Man Battle Network 5: Double Team on DS and honestly I probably only played it once or twice. Not a knock on the game, genuinely just didn't get into it for whatever reason back in the day. Was surprised it see how much it goes for now. Should I sell it before or after this collection comes out?
Double Team isn't part of the collection and has unique features exclusive to it so it's value shouldn't be affected. Sell whenever.
I'm genuinely sad about this, SolCross was my way to go back in the day with my Boktai 2 cart on the second slot.
If the BlackMind program in BN3 doesn't turn you into a Heel Navi, what are they even doing?
