For a month I couldn't even get past the loading screen and even then I've barely touched it since getting to lvl 20. There's a lot wrong with it, but at it's core it's still fun to play. That's more than you can say about most MMOs.

You're mistaken if you think I'm outright defending the game. Like I said, I haven't touched it since the first few weeks of playing it, and I was pretty disappointed overall.
I just think disaster is an overstatement considering how fun the game is to just play.
Granted I only play ranger but it's a huge upgrade from pso2 and I'd love more content to go through.

I had fun with SWTOR. I did not have fun with NGS. Ergo, NGS is worse.
I got bored of it in 10 hours. Combat is literally just:

You're right but I'm not sure how to word what i'm trying to get across. It could have been a great game, in it's current state it's bad. But it isn't because the game itself doesn't have potential, it's Sega who is purposely ruining it.

The problem is there's no content and what there is doesn't have any logic to it.
When I heard about multiweapons I got all excited for all the freedom that was going to afford; I had this cool notion of TMG-Daggers to rack up a chain bonus and blender things with the added attack speed.
Unfortunately, that would be way too fricking fun and the game is designed to explicitly forbid this kind of zany interaction. Not only does the buff not apply to other weapons (making mainclass gunner only good for being a paint-by-numbers gunner) but subclass weapons have a 10% damage debuff built in. So unless I built exclusively to split my damage bonus to compensate having fun was going to tank my DPS and result in longer urgent clear times. What's more, even if I did that, I'd still be out-damaged by the aformentioned hotel-painting gunner.
So multiweapon is just a way to help the mouthbreathers drop a mobility skill onto their bar without having to swap weapons.
Frick NGS. It's old-school shitty design with new paint and until they make sweeping changes it's not worth the fricking massive install size.
Yeah the multi weapon system was a disappointment. I was hoping to combine the assault rifle with the rocket launcher so I could quickly throw out high impact shots. Unfortunately, every rocket launcher art seems to be objectively worse than just using the homing shot for dealing with large groups of enemies.

Sega never knew what it was doing with PSO2. The absurd amount of fashion options is the only thing it ever did right but now you can't participate in that if you aren't a whale.
The game is shit (boring with no content), they are accelerating to end of service with all their moronic decisions. Avoid at all cost.
