Considering how much shit they're porting to pc I'm perplexed as to what's even the appeal for ps5, and on that note it makes me wonder all the more why you can't just install Linux or windows on an xbox, truly, it has to be the result of a multi billion settlement between snoy and microwiener in a desperate attempt to keep their loyalists and lowest common denominator market share in place, which on top of all this, opens up the discussion of just how disruptive M$ has been in the game industry really, that they are able to make sony their b***h at every turn imaginable. I kinda want the console wars to end definitely so that more of these industry secrets get revealed to the public.
Console + decent PC is still the smart choice. I've got a PS5, I even play it sometimes, but the lion's share of gaming gets done on my shitposting machine.
I think Sony is screwed the second general audiences move away from cinematic character dramas. They're clearly leveraging their film division as hard as possible and haven't pushed for novel gameplay in any way. Even Rockstar and Ubi--while they've not shyed away from a trend--aren't dependent on it so much as cashing in; their engines could pivot toward gamier systems if need be.
>Both companies
Unless you're a PlayStation owner, I don't see the downside to Microsoft acquisitions. Their subscription service is good value so I'll get way more games for less on my PC and they've been aidropping cash to developers who can make good use of it (among others). >they're trying to buy your loyalty
Good. >they'll screw you over eventually
Then I'll wait until then to be mad.
>- leveling the playing field by massive acquisitions so Sony actually has to try
That's an interesting way of putting monopolizing the industry for their own gain.
They’re not being over valued. The thing that Sony does different is that their quality is very consistently high. Square enix’s cutscenes jump from low to high quality. And even lower budget games have long cutscenes.
I'm not that anal about quality animation, I guess. I can appreciate graphics, but if that's literally the only selling point that's pretty lame. The gameplay should always come first.
But how else would I know the guardian you make at the start of the game is actually a mind flayer and it doesn’t mean shit?

I don't like playing games on PC besides WoW. Frick you for spoiling the game you piece of shit. You deserve to die. You remind me of that kid in highschool that got his ass kicked for yelling out the ending to Harry Potter.

You watched a video, it's not hard. Also, I don't give a shit about spoilers.
>Fricking moronic kid in the back of the class finishing the book last clapping and acting like he did something.
Meanwhile you've got xbots coping at the back of the class because his parents couldn't even afford the book in the first place kek.
I love how they all magically own high-end gaming PCs the minute you mention just how many games PS5 is getting over the next couple of years. Xgays love using PC as a shield against any and all criticism.
I've got the best of both worlds because I've got a PS5 and a PC, everyone is too afraid to admit that consoles are an exclusives game now. got a PC, then you have every Xbox game already to play at a better price and with more flexibility. ps5 is the only console (besides Nintendo ofc) that actively tries to keep exclusives. call it cuckery, call it homosexualry, but its still an incentive to buy the console.
Always has been, but especially with gamepass the recent acquisitions.
Like, I don't know how anyone can justify owning a PS5 right now. Getting the 3 20 hour moviegames that will come out in it's lifecycle is not worth bypassing the tangible benefits of owning a XB.
>>I don't know how anyone can justify owning a PS5 right now >FF7 Rebirth >Death Stranding 2 >Rise of Ronin >Wolverine >Stellar Blade >Spider-Man 2 >Next God of War
I dunno, seems pretty easy to justify to me.
I recently bought a gaming laptop that came with 3 months of gamepass ultimate for free. There's only old games or unknown slop that nobody cares, and 7 or 8 big names which everyone already played it. I don't think it's worth it on the long term. Maybe if you want to play something specific on the catalog then you just pay it for 1 month and so. Same with ps+ which is simply much inferior
just to add, consoles will always be superior simply because you can game leisurely on a bed, a couch or anything comfortable. having to game sitting on a chair while bwosing with a mouse is insufferable to me
No. Subscriptions mean the quality gets lower over time as the price increases. It is never going to be the right time to go xbox. If nintendo and playstation outright die you are still better off picking up reading books than relying on microsoft for anything.
Nah. Get a PC. There's no reason to actually own an X at all unless you're truly unable to save up the money for a PC around $1200.
Strictly on a level of games playable, MS is completely shifting from the xbox as a console brand to a more general provider/publisher brand. Everything they put out ends up on game pass day 1, and on PC and xbox as well. What's the point in getting an xbox now? I guess if you're still on an xbone and need to move up, you will have a library you don't want to rebuild on the other ecosystem, but that wasn't the case for most people because MS dropped the ball SO hard with xbone.
seriously, I don't understand Microsoft's strategy in sharing Xbox exclusives with PC, where's the gain? I know PCs are Microsoft's after all, but it's so strange.
PC sucks in the living room especially for media now. HDR is still broken on PC too. Those apps on your teevee are usually trash for playback, as well.
Anyone who gives a shit about media consumption is either on an Xbox or, God forbid, an Apple TV.
PC doesn't suck in the living room, it's better than ever with fibre-optic connectivity. There can be near 0 delay connections from a game room through a wall to a living room display without a lot of bullshit.
Not sure what about PC is broken, it's mostly displays that don't even crack 600 nits claiming they're HDR because they can technically flip the switch allowing it.
>the apps on your tv are trash for playback
thank god any tv that isn't [ChangXongWeibo Technologies QR3 32" 720p TV ] has sideloading. Even Amazon TVs and the shit you buy from walmart can sideload a plain ass frickin VLC client.
Their long term plan is to kill off steam and become the only pc shop in town. They want people that play on pc to be invested in their games so they aren't stingy with releasing them there.
I don't think so. That was the plan like 10 years ago when the xbone was the new thing, win10 was on the horizon, 8 had flopped hilariously and 8.1 was a snappy retort to try and retain user investment on the upgrade path they'd established.
After win10 came out, the MS store flopped miserably, 8 ruined any chance of "apps" existing on PC in the format ms was pushing then, there was no competition. They've tried with things like the xbox app but it has so many issues EVERY single time they put a game out on it that never get fixed. Guaranteed when starfield drops the servers shit themselves and lock everyone out of playing everything, and people get that bug that requires them to re-dl the entire fricking game because the decrypt fails.
The goal of MS right now is expand game pass. That's all they're doing, that's what every dev/pub acquisition is working towards. Benefits on game pass, more titles on game pass, more gaas on game pass, to make it a one stop shop to pick up a new game and get a discount on it's dlc.

Reminder they also killed Rare, introduced paid online to online console gaming, want to strip all ownership away from the consumer by making everything digital-only on Xcloud and Gamepass, and all off their exclusives are mtx-riddled (Sea of Thieves) or pay-to-win garbage like, Gears4&5, Halo 5 and infinite.
It's also funny that some of you think buying Bethesda is going to save them. Bethesda hasn't made a good game since Skyrim, the rest of their games can't even hit metacritic scores of 80. Let's not also forget they let Bethesda put the Horse Amour DLC on the 360 marketplace back in 2007.
DLC (like they are now) was created and imagined by Microsoft alone, they first test was with their first party title, Mechassault 1 and it's DLCs, if they hadn't done that, microtranstations and other bullshit greedy DLC practices wouldn't even be a thing today.
Microsoft is the most greedy, anti-consumer, monopolistic, disgusting company there is. Stop defending their shit, Ganker.
The SERIES ASS is an shit cucksole designed to scam the consumer renting troony indie games and 14 year old 360 games like goyim cattle.
If you buy and/or support Microsoft in any way, even ironically, you deserve death.
Day one game launches on Game Pass are about the only real benefit, and even then that's not Xbox exclusive because you can get Game Pass on PC. It's good for poorgays like me who can't afford a gaming computer, though.
Starfield is the second plane, it will save Xbox.
It's like watching a bunch of idiots jumping between lifeboats while the real people sail by on a cruise ship (PC).
PlayStation has better games than PC
Oh god the console kiddies are here
Yeah, that's right.
I'll be pirating starfield

What are you a commie? The Act-Blizz acquisition brings them to a whopping 11% market share.
There’s always going to be cutscenes. I think people that Sony is publishing a 70 hour jrpg in 2024.
There's always going to be cutscenes but they're being overvalue right now.

you still need to buy one to play it
