I literally played P4 for the first time 10 years ago, played P5 Royal August last year, and replayed P4 Golden back in January, and no, P4 has far superior writing.

They're based off actual people in real life. Kamoshida is based off an actual incident that happened with a Japanese gold medalist.

Madarame - Lies about the storage with the fake Sayuris and calls security.
Kaneshiro - Takes pictures and threatens to blackmail.
Okumura - Literally just Haru watching her dad take 2 fricking phone calls.
Kamoshida was different because the cast got to have multiple interactions with the real world version AND his shadow.

The only real part about the Persona games is kids fricking around while in high school. Everything else is a fantasy, including the seemingly perfect chad MC's that are good at talking, fighting, fricking, dancing, studying, etc. That's so people can self-insert and go on what's effectively a social power trip but as a highschool kid.
In real life, a lot of teens and even younger ones in Japan fricking kill themselves over bullying or getting bad grades.
